Terrible company

Terrible company. I received a letter saying someone had come out over a parking ticket but no one had. I tried to contact their customer service but was ignored until I ended up paying them to keep them from coming out and charging me and affecting my credit score. Terrible on the phone too only interested in getting payment.

Bully Boy demands to scare

I received a demand on Christmas Eve for a debt I know nothing about. The timing couldn't have been worse and there was no chance to contact this crowd of bullies. Their statement that details of the claim were on the reverse side of their demand was total nonsense. Just meaningless numbers.
The wording of the demand is outrageous and designed to scare people into paying up whether or not the debt is legitimate. I pride myself on not being in debt to anyone but this crowd of shysters are only interested in collecting money and being paid a commission.

Horrible company.

Only gave a star because you need to give one to write a review.

This company is the worst company ever. Their customer service is awful. They turned up to my door in November when I set up a direct debit of £25 a month which I had been paying. Had no idea I had missed 1 payment in April. Received a letter on the 12th of May to inform me of this to which I called and the guy on the phone was the most horrible and argumentative human being ever. He had no interest in answering any of my questions or any way of helping resolve my issue. Not once said about setting another direct debit up after I asked a number of times he just kept telling me to contact my bank to which I ended up hanging up as was getting absolutely nowhere with him. Friday the 16th of May, I have £500 taken out my savings account from them, I called them AGAIN to ask about this and AGAIN the guy on the phone was absolutely useless. Did not care they had taken so much money out of the bank and that it was actually my child’s CHILD DISABILITY PAYMENT that we had just recieved backpay for on the TUESDAY. I was told ‘we have left you some money at least’ no sympathy over leaving a person £500 down, who can’t physically work and has 3 young children at home to feed and keep a house over our heads. Asked how much was left to pay as now they have taken £700 off me and they said they didn’t know and wouldn’t tell me anyway if they did because it’s not their job to tell me. Absolute joke of a company and bunch of useless folk working for them that need some training on customer service. Hope they are happy with themselves taken money from an 8 year old disabled child. Vile people.

Cruel, awful, brutal - and liars

I don’t have enough time or space to go over the whole ongoing saga with Glasgow City Council Tax Department and their prolific use of this Debt Collection company. Suffice to say that Scott and Co would be happy to bring back Workhouses for the poor if they could. Their communication is shocking and verging on harassment. If you are unable to use the telephone, good luck getting any response to emails or letters. They lie, blatantly and consistently. They pile on charge after charge, send Court Orders, threaten you with jail and refuse all attempts to set up a payment plan. Instead, they demand full payment of a year’s worth of Council Tax upfront - an impossibility for most people.
They then lied to GCC by claiming they have “no issues” with me setting up a payment plan. It is absolutely maddening. At this point I have to assume their cruelty is deliberate and they take pleasure in ‘punishing’ people for the perceived crime of ‘not being rich’. This all came about over an (accidental) missed payment of Council Tax by the way. The response from both parties has been atrocious. Honestly don’t know how anyone involved in this system sleeps at night.

Dealing with a bus gate fine that didn’t pay to local council. Only one letter from them I should add. Straight to Scott & Co whom sent me a bill for £186. Called them and after a discussion with a lad that was decent enough on phone agreed to freeze account while I took legal advice. Fast forward 6 weeks and possibly the most rude and obnoxious woman I’ve spoken to claimed they would never of agreed to freeze account while I took advice. Bill also went up another £96 as she claimed a balif had been at door and that I was avoiding them as my car was in drive, I wasn’t in at time. When I questioned why there was no evidence or letter to prove they’d been she hit the roof. Called to settle the bill as advised by my solicitor but shocked at the behaviour and manners of the woman I dealt with. Unfortunately I paid my dues and hung up. This all stemmed from Aberdeen City Council and their entrapment of vehicles within city through various ulez zones and bus gates. Solely a money making scam and a very unprofessional way of obtaining money from people with Scott and Co’s threatenings tactics. They are the real criminals here.

Dealing with a bus lane fine

Dealing with a bus lane fine, my partner phoned to deal with a fine that had been forgotten about and put a payment plan in place, the woman on the phone was rude and basically called my partner stupid. She also received email saying the payment plan was in place and they have it on file only to open a letter the next month and it had doubled, she phoned and they tried so say they have no recollection of the payment plan even though she has an email confirming. I also was given a fine and forgot to pay and they hammered me! Rude/evil people, well the woman I dealt with and the woman my partner dealt with were , i dont know how they sleep at night.

Too busy posing on instagram and ignoring messages

DONT REPLY TO THEIR MESSAGES, TOO BUSY POSTING ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA!! It’s a miracle this business is still going seeing as they clearly don’t communicate to anyone they’re not BFF’s with! Useless, all they care about is what they look like on social media. If I could give zero stars I would!!! 3 months of trying to get something booked in and getting awful replies 5 weeks after I contacted them!!!

Monsters

Called for assistance and they gave absolutely 0 empathy or understanding.
I would say they are monsters who work here. If you have fallen under these people for debt collection. I feel very sorry for you and please note you are not alone in what you will experience.

There has to be a better way to help people who suffer debt. This is why people commit suicide and it’s on your hands.

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER THEY HAVE RUINED MY LIFE!!!
Set up direct debit six months ago to come out every Friday and not once in the 6 months did it come out Friday it came out the Monday so I had to borrow money to cover this phones my bank and Scott n do to resolve this and was told set up for Friday now I have been defaulted because it kept coming out on Mondays THEY PURPOSELY MADE ME DEFAULT SOO THEY COULD ARREST MY WAGES AFTER ME EXPLAING THIS AND TELLING THEM I HAD SEVERE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUEs AM A SINGLE PARENT I AM STRUGGLING TO PAY MY BILLS AND THAT I WAS SUICIDAL oh that’s great feck off and go kill urself is what they have basically said and done tried to speak to a manager and got told would b 3-7 working days before a manager could call me back quick enough arresting wages when they have took money on wrong day for 6 months and done nothing to help me I hope they are all proud of themselves disgusting company

Rang saying it was the city council…

Rang saying it was the city council calling. He was asking for my address which confused me as I am currently homeless and thought this was a call about housing. I gave my friends address where I was staying last year, not officially my address. He then decides after getting me to confirm my details to say its actually scott and co. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and waiting for emergency housing. So I thought it was a call about that as he said he was from the council. So hes just straight up lied to gain my trust. I didn't even know I was in debt as I always paid my bills until covid time when I ended up homeless after losing my job. Not dealing with them, I have enough on my plate. My priority at the moment is finding somewhere to live asap before i give birth. And im sspecially not dealing with them now they've lied about who they were.

Zero empathy

They harrased me when i fell into debt when i had cancer. I told them that i was living on statutory sick pay of 90 pounds a week, I had a 60% chance of survival, but if im still alive in six months i will call you back and hung up. They phoned me back 1 month later when i was still going through chemoradiotherapy to harass me again. I was too sick to be dealing with thier harassment so agreed to pay. Scummy company who live of of other people misfortune and misery. Aberdeen council should be ashamed of themselves for handing tennent debts off to these awful people.

£86.03 charge from Scott and co for a…

£86.03 charge from Scott and co for a piece of paper then there's the surcharges. £47 for a £11.75 council tax arrears. They say it's the council but the council say it is Scott and co and no way to find out. Question it and they stop the call.

Called after being asked for sent another bill

Called the company after they sent out a second later saying a bill had not been paid. I had already paid the bill in full. I was put on hold and then after asking for a refrence number for paymnet was told to call back in a week. After asking is that not cheeky as its their error and causing undue stress they proceed to hang up on me. Disgusting behaviour, staff need better trained!!! Why is paymnet not being recorded and we have to chase them up. Costing us more time ,money on calls and stress.

bullies

Payments were going through successfuly until one of the staff from Scott and co phoned me then added a grand onto my dept in an ex partners name who i haven't lived with in over 5 years. There too lazy to search for people who owe them money so they penalise people whos names were accociated with theirs I tried to tell them its nothing to do with me then the lady on the phone started threatening me with wages arrestments and repeating the fact that I said I knew said person. Also after all that carry on, they ask "how much can you afford to pay now" that you're another 1200 in dept I said same as usual £100 pm they said aah were looking for 160 now Mr Allison. So I told them where they could shove their 160. As a result of scott and cos bullying my earnings are being arrested. I told them what I could afford to pay. These horrible sick people at scott and co have been playing games with my mental wellbeing for 7 years now and no doubt there treating others in the same abusive manner. the bullying needs to stop.

Scott and Co dealing with parking fines…

Scott and Co dealing with parking fines and bus lane infractions for a car I never even owned at the time. Serious lack of empathy and understanding on anything all they care about is money money money Ricky mcfarlane if that's even his real name was rude argumentative and didn't listen to a single thing I told him dealing with this company is a horrible horrible experience and they should be ashamed of themselves and the conduct of their telephone operators
