Very easy to add funds and withdraw funds. You always know how much more you can add to your ISA. The only gripes I have are the changes they made so we can’t compare performance using graphs, and I... See more

Awful company , trying to transfer money out of an ISA has now taken since 25th September for a simple transaction.Poor communication and i feel they are usin staling tactics to retain the money in their grubby paws. Supposed to take five working days, But if you cancel a direct debit they are in touch within two days.

Appalling customer service from Scottish Friendly (or should I say, Unfriendly!).
If I could, I would give ZERO stars. Scottish Friendly do not take responsibility for their failures and certainly do not take complaints seriously.
They are poor communicators and their customer service team (if you can call them that) are unfriendly, unhelpful and rude.

Hi I can't really say much cos I just come on board so what I can say is you can be trusted.

Reply from Scottish Friendly
Rude, unhelpful and utterly flippent in their communications, at a time when people are often suffering a breavement.
The staff are really callous.
IMO not to be trusted or used for anything significant.

Well where do you start with this bunch? Paid policy for 17/years for a grandchild until she could surrender it at age 18…..paid it month by month all those years and then they did not apply for the last payment by usual direct debit….my bank confirmed that in writing.
They sent a cheque for £1815 on 10 July 2025 to my Grandaughter but by then I had paid into the policy £1970….16 years 5 months x £10 it would have been £1980 had they bothered to collect last premium by direct debit used throughout the policy. That is paid in £1970 and get a return of £1815? Loss of £155! Although it was not my policy as I paid it for my Grandaughter (she was owner) they sent all the Surrender Values and her details to me without her permission….breach of Data Protection? Scottish Friendly said it was not a breach so why sent to me when three months earlier they wouldn’t talk to me about the policy saying it was my granddaughters and even though I paid the policy they were not going to talk to me about it!
My Grandaughter complained and on 29th July 2025 another cheque for additional £438….now money received was £1800+438=£2238 a profit in 16 years 5 months of £268…..how miserable is that? They then on 4th August 2025 sent my Grandaughter £75 Compensation.
This is a regulated firm who have got away with things when they firmly deserved punishing hard for incompetence …..the question I ask is if grandaughter had taken the £1800 initially and not complained it’s a question would she have received the two other cheques?
So without any hesitation I think Scottish Friendly are a firm to AVOID unless you want poor service and extremely poor investment like this case.
They messaged on Trustpilot to get in touch ….i know they would like to get me to delete this review…not bloody likely…BUT I did email them, willing to talk gave them a contact number but heard nothing at all from this aweful disorganised group who don’t like an honest review like mine… it doesn’t suit them but it sure suits me giving a true version of what they did and how they worked. Shame on you Scottish Friendly.

I thought this was a safe place to put my child’s funds and only realised after organising to send accross that it’s actually stocks and shares I hadn’t set up direct debit as yet and was going to when it’s said about % s and
This worried me. I called Scottish friendly and asked for them to stop taking any funds and to cancel the account I still haven’t recieved a email to advise this is now closed and it’s been 4 days.
