Written by the company

Established in 2006, SCVC provides consulting rooms and secretarial services for medical consultants, along with most outpatient tests required for efficient ‘one stop shop’ expert assessment and investigation of most cardiac conditions. We also offer health screening to self referred patients such as DVLA, CAA and racing driver exercise testing and company wellness packages. We also undertake echocardiograms (normal and stress), pacing and device checks, ECG and ambulatory ECG/blood pressure monitoring. We host VCL Surrey onsite too, who provide MRI scans (incl pacemaker MRI and high fidelity CT ). SCVC is one of the UK’s only diagnostic centres offering a walk-in chest pain clinic where there is an option for same session virtual coronary angiography (CTCA), CT FFR, and CaRi Heart scores, operated and immediately reported by our expert clinical cardiologists, meaning that patients travel from all over the world to receive state of the art diagnosis and care from us in one visit. With our focus on prevention, we use groundbreaking technologies simply not available elsewhere- AI CT Heartflow and FAI to predict future heart attack risk. We also offer metabolic profiling using continuous glucose monitoring, since glucose variability and insulin resistance have increasingly been recognised as key risk factors for CHD.

Professional service guaranteed

Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic has been delightful in answering my health concerns and addressing any issues. I will be continuing to use them in the future to complement the preventative approach to my health. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. I did visit from afar as I was impressed with other patient reviews.

Very impressed

Very impressed! The structure of the services you offer is very well thought out.

No pushy sales tactics whatsoever, just genuine, honest advice & a team who clearly genuinely want to help patients.

I'm delighted to have discovered your service & I would happily recommend others to come to you, especially given the current challenges, delays & pressure on NHS services.

Excellent

From my first contacted, through to my consultation and subsequent tests I was treated in a friendly, professional manner. All tests were thoroughly explained to me and I felt confident that I was being looked after safely and professionally

Outstanding Clinic!

I highly recommend this clinic for both preventative and curative care. I have been a patient of Dr. Leatham for nearly four years, and the professionalism and quality of care from everyone at the clinic have been exemplary. I was so impressed I persuaded my wife and father for to attend the clinic for CaRI scans and general cardio care and management.

A good experience.

I arrived slightly early for my appointment, I amdisablyd and was accompanied by my son who pushed my wheelchair. The access to the clinic is a steepish ramp and the companion needs to be quite strong.
We were greeted with an offer of a cup of coffee and after a short wait the technician carried out the test, gave me some feedback and a short time later I had a very helpful consultation with Dr Leatham.

Treated as an adult.

The reception, time-keeping and administrative aspects are superb. The relaxed but professional manner are very refreshing and help relax the patient. One is treated as an intelligent being - such a change from the NHS receptions and administrative areas, however good the medical staff.

A positively pleasant appointment

I was feeling quite nervous about my visit, but however, I was made to feel very welcome and looked after throughout my time in the clinic from having the echo-cardiogram to seeing the Dr afterwards and went home feeling very positive about my appointment, I would recommend them to anyone seeking help and reassurance

Blood Glucose Monitoring Trial

I understood the SCVC blood glucose trial for 2 weeks whilst keeping a food log. I then had an appoint meant with the nutritionist, Juliette to discuss the results. I found the de-briefing session incredibly valuable. Juliette was able to explain the glucose results and then explain how I could manage my diet better to maintain better glucose control.

High quality care provided by Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic

I was referred on an urgent basis to the SCVC. The team at the clinic did everything they possibly could to fit me in to a busy clinic. The care I received was excellent with Dr Leatham taking the time to fully investigate my symptoms. All of the tests were fitted in on the same day. This included a CT scan with the team foregoing lunch breaks to ensure I received the scan. The scan, which uses cutting edge analytics, identified significant issues. Dr Leatham and the team have ensured that I have been ‘fast tracked’ for treatment. They have continued to update me which has included out of hours contact. It’s not overstating it to say that this sense of urgency and care has probably saved my life. This has all been done whilst dealing with the needs of other patients attending the clinic. Thank you

Need more space!

Pleasant staff and good level of service but far too overcrowded with people standing for appointments. Rooms too cramped for chaperone which heightens anxiety at an already stressful time. Not the best experience.

Reply from Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic

Thank you for your constructive feedback and we are sorry to hear your experience fell short of the high standard that we try to achieve for all of our patients. Your visit coincided with a particularly busy clinic day, when we had more unscheduled one stop heart scans due to clinical emergencies, which meant we transiently ran out of waiting room seats. Most days we plan activity and patient flows to match both the parking and seat capacity, so in the event you need to return, we expect that you would have a better experience. Our clinic rooms are designed to be large enough for family or chaperone to attend with the patient as well as wheelchair access, so although they are not as roomy as in neighbouring hospitals, the clinic design does at least allow us to run one stop clinics that are not available elsewhere, saving multiple visits, which most of patients seem to prefer.
