research all options

the whales and the tongans provide a fantastic experience, but i was disappointed by interactions with humpback swims. the owner of humpback swims only met with our group on day 1, and most travelers in our group expected more from the guide. i felt the business acted unprofessionally towards me when my roommate was evacuated to the US after a serious accident on the boat.

humpback swims does not accompany you on the boat. the daily tours are with a local captain and a whale guide. i highly recommend being a strong swimmer and coming with knowledge of boat and ocean safety.

there are many choices when visiting tonga. accidents can happen on a trip like this, so please research all options.
