Got caught out today Sunday 16th June 24. Am really pissed off with myself for not realising at the time. Tried calling my bank(all off for the weekend) tried calling the DVLA(all off for the weekend). Perhaps it’s about time there is some effective policing on this internet particularly in regards our Government’s web sites!!
SCAM - tricks you into thinking your paying your car tax but your actually signing up for a monthly subscription of £7pm for nothing. CON and they use a logo like the gov website logo to tick you. This is the first link that comes up when you put the gov webpage in Google.
A total SCAM aimed at people wanting to pay their Car Tax.
You pay 50p for 48hrs for a service you don't realise you were signing up for (you think you are paying your car tax) then £7pm thereafter.
Don't bother calling your bank, they won't refund until you have contacted the company directly.
Call 0333 344 0917 to DEMAND a refund and cancellation of policy - you MUST be firm.
I have now reported this to the DVLA.
Sponsored ad that appears above genuine .gov links when searching to complete car tax. Confuses elderly people into signing up for a monthly subscription thinking that they are paying their car tax.
How google allow this type of advert is beyond me.
Scam site signs you up and takes monthly amounts from your account, very cleverly I have to say, duping you in to thinking you are paying your road tax.
Site should be shut dowm
This is outrageous that this company, whoever they are, are the first address that comes up when you try to pay your road tax. How is this allowed? Can the government website not control this? How many people have been caught out? They are preying on innocent people.
Scam. Looks like you are paying car tax - youre not! Clicked on after googling gov site and this popped up first - idiot!
