Alarming experiences with SEB Estonia. Disaster and arrogance

A payment expressly authorised by the customer was blocked, even though the transaction was completely transparent, properly documented and legally unobjectionable. All relevant information was provided, with no unusual structures or unclear recipients.

SEB suggested to the customer that the transaction might be an attempt at fraud, which is difficult to understand given our clean business history spanning more than 15 years. Even more disturbing than the action itself was SEB's refusal to explain why an authorised payment was not executed, citing only general references to internal reviews and compliance.

We know from similar cases in the past that legal clarification is sometimes necessary to achieve transparency, which we already succeeded in doing in 2024 in a similar case with a final EU ruling.

Bad SEB customer support

I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR OVER 11 YEARS BUT I AM CONSIDERING CLOSING MY SEB ACCOUNT.
I know that this is not the type of service that SEB wants for its customers, but unfortunately that is what has been happening for a long time.
I made a purchase on a perfume website, after my purchase I realized that it was a suspicious website. I immediately sent an email to SEB customer service informing them of what had happened, I tried to alert them about my purchase in the suspicious website.
I made prints of the emails what I have sent to buyer who did not respond to me, I also I made it on PDF to. I investigated the stores and none of the addresses provided on the website exist, they only show fruit stores. Nothing related to a perfume store
So far I have not received my good, they sent me herbs because they are fruit and herbs store, not Perfume store that showed by seller website. Scam seller. Everything was informed to SEB, which has not yet refunded me the amount.

Worst bank in Estonia

Worst bank in Estonia. I closed an account and my wife send to my closed account 10 eur and I get only 5 eur on my new bank account.
Mafia from Sweden.

Bad customer support

Got scammed by a service provider. Though 3D Security was enabled even for smallest transactions, it didn’t work that time and money was written off my card without my actual consent. Contacted SEB immediately, provided proofs, but they just kept sending answers like “oh, those are just rules of a foreign bank” and “it’s Foreign Bank, we cannot cancel transactions so easy”.
And besides, each answer takes them 2 or more weeks to write, and all documents should be sent by email, so there’s no way to make the whole process faster.
So basically I just lost my money and they won’t do a thing about it. Definitely will switch to another bank, because SEB absolutely cannot provide security for their clients.

I have gone to open an account at the…

I have gone to open an account at the bank and I think that in the third world they take better care of you, the staff, in addition to being unprepared, unpleasant, carefree, had an unpleasant presence. The questions are of the KGB style, at one point I thought I was in Russia and not in Estonia, although when I left the bank I still doubted it, because I had never been treated so badly in this country. The truth is that in the end I think that a very good thing has happened to me, knowing that I will never return to this bank of the former Soviet (communist) Union in my life...!! Oh!!! I don't have to say it but I'm European, I can't imagine how they would treat someone who isn't.

Full Banking Experience for Customers

SEB has been my main bank since 3 years ago. Tried to change my bank to LHV as my application for credit card got rejected due to not being a permanent residency permit holder but it was a mistake to change my bank. SEB gives full control over the banking experience to customers which LHV does not offer (like receiving SMS notifications or seeing full details of a transaction).
Customer support of SEB has been average so far but the banking experience itself is great which is sufficient.
