No longer secret…

This is no longer secret cinema as we knew it before the company was sold. Unfortunately I only discovered this fact after attending the new Grease production. I thought something was off. The deep love of cinema and the actual movie has been replaced by naff musical theatre and commercialisation. If I wanted to see the musical I would go to the musical. Yes it is slick and professional and yes they do have some immersive bits and bobs here and there but don't cut up my beloved movie, turn down the songs and replace them with poor renditions!
No doubt they'll do well with this new version but I feel a little cheated. I believe the new owners should change the name, take down the original website, replace secret cinema with whatever their new idea is and just let the original secret cinema walk off into the sunset. Rest in peace. Tell no one.

Grease - London a loyal customer’s experience

This was my 6th Secret Cinema but I was very disappointed with this one. I bought tickets the minute they launched as usual and was upset to see tickets being sold for nearly a third of what I paid. Surely it should be the other way round with local early birds getting the discount!
The time of the performance was advertised at 1430. But in fact you needed to be there at 1300. This wasn’t on the ticket app you had to use to book the tickets. I think only one email the day before mentioned it. This meant no immersive experience before the film.
That said the dancing was fabulous and the actors we were able to interact with were very good, just very rushed and without a back story to prepare and come with, there wasn’t much to interact on.
Such a shame as I love Secret Cinema but this wasn’t them at their very best. I might have been less disappointed had I just bought a £30 ticket…..

Grease sucked:Stranger Things amazing

We went to the Stranger Things one before with friends and it was one of the best things we’ve ever done.

Grease sucked so bad. No immersive activities throughout, no persona given to you beforehand, the actors were all out of sync with the songs. Felt like this was rushed through planning significantly

Not as advertised and over priced

Well the AI advertising was false. When you pay extra in include a funfair ride and when you get there, there is no ferris wheel as in the pictures but only a small swing carousel in the corner you are already feeling let down.
Impressive seating and themed areas and the sound was great except as we are watching Grease on the big screens it's disappointing that the sinc was out by nearly a second.
My vip seats were far from any of the action and the drinks were over priced.
£15 a pint or £95 for a rydell jacket, £6 a can of coke. I know they haven't make money but I really felt conned.

Customer service

Been to loads of secret cinemas and loved every minute. I’m not rating 3 stars for the experience but for the none existence customer service! I brought the grease tickets back in March , I still haven’t had confirmation after numerous emails. I wanted to book several people more people on the date I go. I need the confirmation of the date and time to double check before they book.
Also when I booked it was far more expensive than it is today!!

Secret Cinema Has Lost Its Way

Secret Cinema Has Lost Its Way

As a returning customer, I expected better from Secret Cinema — but this recent experience has made it clear that the company no longer values loyalty or fairness.

I bought tickets four months ago for the opening performance of Grease at £75 each, only to discover that the exact same tickets were being sold shortly before the event for £49. That’s a steep £26 difference per ticket. When I asked for either a refund of the difference or an upgrade, I was met with a flat, impersonal refusal. No flexibility. No effort to retain goodwill. Just a blanket dismissal.

Frankly, it raises the question: if Secret Cinema were doing well, would it need to slash prices by over 30% to fill seats? The last-minute discounting not only undermines the experience for early supporters — it makes you feel like a fool for buying in advance.

My advice: don’t buy tickets early. Wait it out. Apparently, loyalty just means paying more for less.

Secret Cinema may still deliver impressive sets and theatrical moments, but when the customer experience begins with indifference and ends in resentment, the magic wears off fast. I won’t be attending again — and I certainly won’t be recommending it.

Secret Cinema Blew Our Trust In The Brand

You know when an artist you love plays too many new songs, well imagine having to watch the uninspiring dance videos for every new song by an artist you don't love, having already waited an hour in a room with nothing on, then the artist comes on stage and doesn't even sing. The videos don't even have a narrative other than 'please tell me I look sexy.'

We booked Lost by Secret Cinema purely through faith in the brand, they lost that big time.

Having attended for years then found the events too overblown and impersonal, we thought a smaller reset would give us back everything we use to love, but it gave nothing other than queues, uninspiring sets and not seeing miley cirrus sing.

Lost: Something Beautiful

Hopefully you'll never have to endure the adult equivalent of the disasterous Willy Wonker Chocolate experience because I think it only ran for 4 nights.
£85 for a mystery event seemed reasonable given the pedigree of Secret Cinema's previous productions. I even didn't mind when I found out it was basically a promo night for Miley Cyrus - she's got a great brand and some great songs. What we got though for £85 was the chance to spend up to 6 hours in an abandoned cinema with some youtube music videos of Miley's running in the background. Sure there were a few 'actors' dressed as the bug people from her video, but they didn't interact with you in anyway. Weirdly there was some poor woman wearing only her knickers and nipple tassles being forced to gyrate in a mirror covered cupboard - weird even in the context of a 'lucid dream'. Connecting two parts of the building by making one of the lady's toilets a corridor was just grim - for me as a bloke and for the confused ladies using the facilities. I wanted to make the best of it, but at midnight when the projector broke down in the 'main event' hall (a sing along to Miley video - without lyrics to sing along to, but with some of the bored bug people dancing) I decided to call it a night and cut my losses.

I will never trust anything by the Secret Cinema brand, Fabien or Lost again. I'm done with them.

A triumph of vibes over content

A triumph of vibes over content, the show itself was listless and cynical with nothing to justify it.

Also the shocking disregard for peoples time was outrageous - both at the start - invited to attend for entry slot 8-8.45, arrived at 8.15, were made to queue outside until 9.30 for entry - and cynically towards the end to maximize drink purchasing - we were herded in to an auditorium signalling the end of the paltry 'immersive' offering and left there for over an hour with just a flower graphic moving on a screen with nothing to do or see except go to the bar.

Probably the most cynical thing you will ever go and see, ave yourself the time and do anything else.

A Complete Letdown – Style Over Substance

Attended the Something Beautiful experience as a fan of Miley Cyrus and left feeling completely underwhelmed. For £85, we were herded through dark corridors with minimal interaction, low-energy staff, and barely any atmosphere.

Your phone is locked in a pouch (only opened by staff on exit), which seems more about stopping live criticism than encouraging immersion. The few “activities” (like a selfie booth and tattoo station) were token gestures at best, with long queues and little payoff.

The only redeeming part was the dancer's performance and the final film but even that could’ve been shown in a cinema for a fraction of the price. Unless you were there on the one night Miley showed up, this felt like a cash grab with none of the heart or energy Miley deserves.

Avoid.

If I could rate this a zero I would

If I could rate this a zero I would. You know they've run out of ideas when they have to hoodwink people into attending what is a promo event for a pop stars album. It was like Kanye West turned up and them dumped the event half way through his random creative process and took all the air conditioning units with him. £85 to walk up and down stairs into various rooms with videos of Miley Cyrus, most had decor that was reminiscent of a low budget school ball. Truly one of the most appalling and expensive experiences I've had in London.

“Lost: Something Beautiful” I would say “LOST: Something Awuful”

I’ve trusted this brand for years and was genuinely excited for this event. Instead, it was a complete waste of time and money — empty, lifeless, and nothing like what they used to deliver. I spent £85 and gave up a beautiful weekend when I could have gone to the beach or left London.

It felt like a trap — no experience, no performance, just standing in the dark waiting for something that never happened. I left angry and disappointed. They took my trust and ruined it.

It's now 2025 and since mid 2024 I've been emailing customer services at Secret Cinema on the various different email addresses I have for them regarding my credit note; which was extended due to Covid.

I've been ignored every single time.

Now Grease tickets are on sale I've upped the amount of emails I've sent, sending from 3 different email accounts to the email accounts I've been told to via Instagram; most recently marketing@secretcinema com and still... no reply. So literally I cannot book the Grease tickets x 2 with my credit notes because literally no one replies.

They've turned off their Instagram comments due to thr backlash and it's just such a shame that someone who actually wants to attend the show people are complaining about, is being absolutely ignored.

Today I've messaged via Instagram again and they've now just ignored their previous message to me on Saturday telling me theyll pick up my email on monday to marketing secretcinema.com and sort it out; and told me to speak to the chatbot. I won't hold my breath.

Massive massive shame.

Still no refund after 5 months

utterly shocked that after 5 months of email Secret cinema i have still not had a response, regarding our refund. I have emailed countless times over and over again, and no one has come back to us. Shockingly bad. The experience was awful, and we were forced to leave after an hour.

Disappointing

Went to the Grease experience, on arrival the queue was very slow moving took almost 20 minutes to get in. Bag check and my half a packet of skittles were confiscated 'no food allowed' that was pretty ridiculous hardly a snack or a meal. Once inside I was a little undewhelmed all the actor performances were ground level so unless you're 7ft tall you're not seeing anything, no idication of where performances would be or when so it was a bit of a free for all. One crew member approached me as my phone was ringing while I was in the queue for a hotdog to tell me no recording allowed! I'm answering a call not filming, found that totally unnecessary. When the film was on the crew were weaving in and out picking up litter which obstructed the view of the screen especially when two stopped for a chat pretty much in front of us, one of the group next to us pointed out we couldn't see and they walked off no apology. Found some of the staff working quite rude actually. The ferris wheel was an additional cost which should have been included. This was my first experience and sadly will be my last as this was far from an experience it was more a glorified outdoor cinema

Fantastic experience

Fantastic experience from the actors pulling you into the story to the level of detail around the "set". Second time we've come to Secret Cinema and it won't be the last. You get a West End show and a movie all rolled into one!

GREASE EXPERIENCE - AMAZING EXPERIENCE

First time experience with secret cinema and don't think it will be the last. 7 of us (mixed ages), attended the Grease Experience at the NEC, it was amazing from start to finish. All of had a great time, the cast was superb, singing, acting costumes and interaction with us. The set up was brilliant, so much to do and things to try. Well worth the money.

we went to see Grease

we went to see Grease, the weather wasn't the greatest but the rain didn't put us off. would have been nice to have a program to know what and when things are going on. you have to pay for the fair rides which was very expensive ( 4 tickets each person and 5 tickets cost £8) we wasn't going to pay £16 to go on a ferris wheel.
The last 1.5hrs the play the movie on a big screen, 2/3 the way though my wife wanted a coffee from one off the drinks stalled. the Que was so slow ( only about 3-4 people in front of her) that I ended up waiting for her so she could watch the movie and but the time I had her coffee the film had finished, must have been 20-30 min for a coffee!
but apart from that we had a great time very well laid out and staff and actors all friendly.

The Grease experience was only a…

The Grease experience was only a fraction of the previous guardians of the galaxy experience (that one was simply brilliant). Grease was really expensive with the fair rides at an extra cost, the food and drink were sub par… I was expecting a full American diner experience.
Acts were great but seating for the film was on the floor… why?!
2 fair ground rides, no end finale on the shaker! Bahhhh just lacking and felt like corners had been cut.
