Fantastic
The whole event was so well put together, the cast were incredible and every single member of the team (from security to bar staff) were enthusiastic and polite. Can't wait to come back!

Secret Cinema create pure JOY yet again!
We've been to the Grease show 4 times so far, and have another 3 planned. We're in love with the place. Being able to talk to all these characters, sing along and dance with them, you truly feel like you're *in* the film and hanging around with Sandy, Danny, Rizzo and the rest. You come away on such a high and in a great mood for days after! ❤️

Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off. No wet weather provision at all. Extra charges for everything, including parking and all the rides, despite a huge ticket price. Never again!
Update 9/8/23 your ears must be burning as I was just mid telling someone about how awful it was :-D

Amazing Grease experience!
The Grease experience was fantastic, great singers/dancers, the sets were brilliant with real attention to detail. Lots to do and see throughout the event. Food was a bit pricey but really good quality. Overall fab experience, would highly recommend and will definitely be going to the next Secret Cinema event.

Grease is the word EXCELLENT
Grease. Absolutely fantastic experience. The set, the actors were excellent. The dancing and singing was fabulous. The attention to detail very good. The organisation and timing of the different elements of the experience were perfect. Despite the rain it was such a fantastic night and well worth going to. Highly recommend.

Even the rain didn’t dampen it!
Went to see Grease it was fabulous. Fairground rides, dancing and entertaining actors and dancers during the film. Nice food to buy. Despite the rain we had a great time.

Grease: Dissapointing, would not recommend
Was really disappointed with Grease. I previously went to strangers things so had high hopes for this. The weather wasn't great which can't be helped, but the view was completely blocked by umbrellas. The whole thing seemed quite disjointed and the main feature seemed to be the food vans. The games and ferris wheel where at an extra cost. It was very hard to take part in any of the groups as you couldn't hear what any of the actors where saying. Feel like we drove 2 hours and paid for tickets to walk around looking at food vans. Didn't really get any of the storyline until the end.

The Live Grease Experience
Thé live grease expérience was phenomenal!! My first secret cinema experience and i would definitely recommend to all and I myself will look forward to my next secret cinema event.
The actors were absolutely outstanding!! so much so you didn’t know who were actors and who were the general public at times. The event was very immersive, and just like being in Rydell school itself, lots to see and do, and lots of surprises along the way too. A very different experience, loved it!!!

Amazing evening
Amazing evening
It is like going to outdoor cinema and the theatre at the same time
There is so much going on
Bring a picnic blanket to sit on to watch the film
The actors are amazing
Food at price you would expect at events but quality excellent
Drink expensive and queues for bars
All round entertainment
It is outdoor so prepare accordingly as it is the British summer!

Incredible experience at Grease live
Amazing experience at the Grease live event at the NEC tonight.
Cast are incredible, interactions are wonderful for all ages, the atmosphere was electrifying. Sandy and Danny performances are as iconic as the original and the mirror moments have perfect timings and demonstrate the wonderful commitment of the actors and dancers to recreate the original scenes.
Would I recommend going… hell yes, a memorable night with family and friends, will I go again… definitely!

What an amazing experience
What an amazing experience! We went on Thursday and it was a fantastic atmosphere with everyone joining in with the singing and dancing. Interaction with the actors was brilliant and you could join in as much as you wanted. Our first visit to a Secret Cinema and we’re definitely coming back to see Grease again. Bring a picnic blanket to sit on and enjoy the film. I won’t spoil any of the surprises but there’s a lot going on. Singing and dancing was incredible! Yes, the weather was great tonight which was a bonus but I thinks it’s unfair to blame Secret Cinema for the British weather (previous reviews). I would highly recommend it. We took a child of 8 who thoroughly enjoyed it and the actors were brilliant with him. He loved seeing the movie for the first time and joining in with the dancing and hand jive. Well done cast of Grease!

Moulin Rouge was amazing, Grease was not
Moulin Rouge was amazing, so much effort and clever thought and execution went into the production. I couldn’t wait to go to another Secret Cinema event.
Grease was the opposite. Poor planning, lack of thought and interaction. Queuing for an hour in the rain was unjustifiable given how many assistants were just milling around (under cover) instead of getting people into the event. After the initial interactive bit, which was excellent), either the cast couldn’t be bothered to come out and interact, or the production planners had forgotten to include the audience and we just had to stand and watch the film, outdoors, in the rain, with no interaction. Which most people opted not to do and left.

Prepare for weather!!
Had tickets bought as a birthday present and had been looking forward to trying a new experience. We had checked the weather forecast and realised rain was on its way so we took waterproofs and umbrellas and wore flat shoes. It absolutely threw it down and many came unprepared. We had a great time but b prepared for weather as no where except the bar is partially undercover. Scarce seating, as the idea is you sit on the ‘grass’ (astroturf) to watch the film. Plenty of food options and you’re encouraged to join in which was good. So def pop wet weather gear in your car and possibly a picnic blanket too.

Beware Grease if bad weather
Beware the Grease experience! The whole thing is outside and if it is raining, tough luck! Yes it is at the NEC, but in the car park. At 6.10pm we had to queue for 30 mins to get in - in the pouring rain - by which time we were soaked and freezing. There is only one indoor part - the prom 'scene' - so there was some relief from the rain (this part was quite good but you can't see the action unless you are 6ft tall as it is not performed on a stage), but when that finished we were turfed out into the downpour and not allowed back in! There was only 1.5 hours of activities and then the film. 1.5 hours would not have been enough time to experience everything had the weather been good (also there is nowhere to leave belongings, so if you come well-equipped for bad weather you will have to carry your things with you). It has good potential and had the weather been fine I am sure we would have had a great time. As it was, we arrived at 6, were soaked by 6.30 and left (after hanging it out a bit) at 8pm, along with many others. Terrible value for money and very, very disappointing given that we were so excited about it. This is British weather; why do they not have a contingency plan?

I can only agree with everything that…
I can only agree with everything that has been said in the previous reviews. My daughter and I went to the NEC last night to see Grease and although the British weather is unpredictable, no provision had been made for the torrential downpour that happened. There were too many people surrounding the limited events so we were unable to see much at all. There was a marquee with a bar which is where the hand jive competition was but again, too many people made it so that we could not see. The queue to get in was slow and we were standing in the rain for about half an hour so missed some of the earlier events. We thought we could at least have a ride on the ferris wheel as we were sure it would be included in the admission fee but it was £8 per person! The actors were very good and did their best in the circumstances but it was difficult to see the costumes as they were covered in waterproof ponchos. To summarise, a very expensive cold and wet washout. We left as the film started as the thought of sitting/standing for a couple of hours when we were already very cold and wet did not appeal. Provisions should be made for the weather as it made what could have been a reasonably enjoyable event thoroughly miserable.
I am now adding an edit as we received free tickets to go again and went on the Friday night. The whole experience was much better and a whole lot of fun; whether this was due to the better weather or lessons had been learned I'm not sure. Food and rides overpriced but then they always are at these kind of events. Overall a much better experience but not sure if it will be any better next time there is a torrential downpour.

Hugely disappointed
Really disappointed with the Grease event last night. 7 of us attended this event for a family birthday celebration and at around £40 a ticket, it really wasn’t worth the money. The weather can’t be helped so I cannot grumble about that.
It is an outdoor event we were therefore prepared for any weather, but the event itself was such a let down.
We arrived early to be greeted by huge queues, meaning the entertainment had started before we got in so missed most of the live experience. I’m not sure if all live things went ahead as we overheard someone saying that the actors wouldn’t be acting because it was too wet.
The dance room was closed quickly because it was too wet and slippy inside. We managed to get involved in one dance on the grass area and then the film came on. We could not sit and watch the film the as floor was too wet and very little seating provided.
In all we spent £40 each to get in. It cost me £21 for 2 drinks, food was £25 for 2 people, parking £9.50 and the two fair ground rides that were there you also had to pay for.
The only thing we really got included in our ticket price was the set and about 20minutes of the film.
Hugely disappointed! This was my first and will be my last secret cinema event!

Grease frightening!
Really looking forward to the Grease secret cinema at the NEC Birmingham as it was a present from our daughters. However the weather wasn't great and the walk from he train station to the venue was miles! We were soaked through and entered the 'experience' only to be confronted by over priced burger stands expensive alcohol pitches. We had a bit of respite in the hall where the band was playing and managed to get warm and dry. The actors were fabulous and put on a great show and also the band was good, everyone was enjoying themselves when we were cleared out of the hall back into torrential rain! That was it for me and a lot of others a mass exodus back to train station and home! All in all it was an over priced cinema ticket they really should have made better provision for bad weather!
