After a less than helpful phone call to an II customer service rep a couple of days ago, I decided to try again today. Fantastic service from Joao! He could not have been more polite, helpful and patient. He wouldn't finish the call until he had succeeded in getting me set up on my account (even though it meant waiting for me each time to go outside with my mobile phone 4 or 5 times to get a signal in order to receive the security codes etc). EQi transfer.
Personally I feel EQi sold themselves out to a far inferior competitor. Things I would like to do but cannot with ii:
1. Change my DD date. ii tell you where you can do that on their website but when you go there, that facility does not exist
2. Easily make payments by bank transfer. Their preference is for you to do this by debit card. I would prefer not to store this info. online
3. When I reluctantly uploaded my bank card details the payment failed, so I went to use another bank card instead only to be told you can only change bank card details once every 30 days.
That means I will not be able to make my regular investment this month because the DD date does not tally with ii's regular investment date and I can't top up using a(nother) bank card. Thanks ii.
Feel like I've been sold a pig in a poke.
Hopefully by buying EQi you'll invest a bit more in your user interface. Unattractive interface not at all user friendly. I know this is my first month, so I'm giving you a chance. But if things don't revert to the level of expectation I had with EQi I shall be taking my business elsewhere before the year is out.
I almost forgot. I sent a secure message 3 days ago. Still awaiting a response.
In summary, and to be fair, viewing things on the ii website is fine, but wanting to do things is another thing entirely.
