Raw prawns starter- food poisoning!

Was served raw prawns starter- began throwing up within half an hour, twice while still at the restaurant. No real apology, waitress was nice but no management in sight, avoid unless you fancy some food poisoning!

Disappointed beyond belief

Our order came out and every dish was covered in salt. I asked for it to be replaced. The reason for this is that I have a kidney condition and high blood pressure. I do not have added salt on anything as I do not want to end up back in hospital. The waitress returned our order to the kitchen and the looks of disgust on the kitchen staff's faces said it all. We had to wait 55 minutes from.placing our order to actually getting our food in an edible condition.

When our server came to check on us I explained that I wasnt happy with the wait and the amount of salt. His response was "I didn't hear you ask for no salt". I didn't ask for salt either, and considering the issues that excess causes in the body, I am dismayed that it is seen as acceptable.

There was no apology, no sign of anything other than resentment from the waiting staff. How dare I have a medical condition that could land me back in hospital for days or weeks due to excessive amounts of sodium. Definitely the last time I'll ever set foot in the establishment.

Been twice and both times very poor…

Been twice and both times very poor food. First time raw lobster and scallops, no apology , just reheated what i already had on my plate, even bits that were chewed and spat out. Second time very tough steak , all 4 of us complaint, were told that it is supposed to be like that and once again no apology and another expensive bill. Very sad as the actual place is lovely and very pretty just shame that food does not match.

Good food, with brand added tax.

We visited Sef’s as it was new to town, and all the talk. We thought the staff were pleasant and enthusiastic about their interactions with customers, the food was definitely good, and the restaurant itself was lovely. But, when the bill came, it became clear that we were paying for a brand not the food; there comes a point where food prices max out, and after that you are just paying for the brand.

They do have a fab lunch menu, which we have also tried, which is much more reasonably priced.

The amazing Sef Steakhouse!

We have been coming to Sefs since they opened, probably every couple of weeks! We have always been amazed by the quality of the food and the staff are always amazing!
It’s a constant high standard, my wife and daughters usually have the fillet which is so tender and I always try something different to fillet and the porterhouse is amazingly tasty!
Even my 11 year old son who can be fussy and didn’t eat steak before has the lokum and loves the tender meat!
The cocktails are fantastic as is the wine selection.
Last night we had an amazing selection of ribeye, lokum, saslick and bone marrow which was so good it made me want to write this review which I rarely do!
Keep up the good work Sefs!

We recently visited Cheltenham and…

We recently visited Cheltenham and whilst there looked for a good steakhouse. The restaurant looks fantastic and we expected an excellent experience.

Unfortunately it wasn't so. Myself and my son both ordered T-bone steaks and my wife and daughter in-law both order fillet steaks. The fillet steaks were so-so not offensive but far great, my t-bone was ordered Medium-well-done, it came Medium-rare the same way that my son had ordered his. I decided rather than complain that I would eat it but parts of the steak was cold and the steak was extremely chewy and flavourless.

The waitress who was very nice came around to ask in general if everything was ok and I told her "I am not going to lie, this is the worst steak I have ever had" she asked the problem so I explained. She took the steak away and put it back into the grill for around 7 or 8 minutes, she came back and later checked in to see if it was ok. I said yes it's no longer rare but the steak is terrible.

The fillet steaks, edible but certainly not close on the restaurants we usually frequent for steak, my sons T-bone was also under par for flavour and tenderness. Mine was virtually inedible.

The waitress spoke to the manager and they gave a 50% discount on my steak, which I suppose is a gesture of good will but I would have been far happier having a nice meal. This was a really disappointing meal for the entire family and somewhere I would never return or recommend to anyone.

Atmosphere, quality of the fixtures and fittings, great. quality and price of the food terrible. I don't mind paying for good food, this wasn't close to good food, the steak I make at home is better than this.
