Sefton poor serviceMissed bin collection two weeks…

Missed bin collection two weeks running. Process is report next day. Then you receive an email saying they have five days or you can escalate. Escalated the issue as no response says they have 3 days to respond. What the point that is 9 days in total. The pick is 10 days between collection. Basically the process takes them to the next collection. How they get away with this is beyond me. Hide behind emails you can not reply to and a process that is in their favour.

Poor service

Worst council ever

Terrible council with no interest in Southport, beach is being allowed to be overgrown with grass whilst the pier is closed and neglected, look across at Lytham as to how it could be if they didn’t divert all the funding to Bootle.

Bring back Southport's Park & Ride

I'm so disappointed in the closure of Southport's Park & Ride. This is the final nail in the coffin for struggling businesses and their customers - A massive blow to locals, visitors and tourists not to mention retailers and the hospitality sector in the town!

I am fairly local to Southport and have been using this excellent facility for many years. I like to shop locally and support my town rather than use online.

The staff at the P&R were excellent, very polite and helpful. The toilet facilities were always clean. I always felt safe using this facility unlike some of the dingy carparks we are now left with.

The park & ride buses were frequent, every 10 mins.
For £2 cars could park all day including a return bus journey into Southport and back to the Eco centre.
This service enabled me to shop at my leisure, have time for browsing and a coffee with friends without checking my watch as you inevitably have to do with parking meters - thus taking all the pleasure out of visiting the town.

Furthermore, Southport town 'on the road' parking charges have gone up and up, gradually depleting the footfall in the town. I believe, the obsession with parking meters across the town has killed browsing as people now go in and get what they need and get out asap to avoid getting fines or paying through the nose to park.
Such a shame, Southport in the 1970s was heaving with good shops, tourist attractions, locals and tourists aplenty. Money wasn't wasted on empty cycle lanes either.

Somebody please save Southport's Park n Ride - arguably the best thing to come out of Sefton so far.

Closure of Esplanade P&R

As a frequent visitor to Southport from Chorley. Today's visit was ruined by finding the closure of the Esplanade Park and Ride. Replaced by a pay and display with a minimum payment of £5.50 for 4 hours, a significant increase from the previous £2 for all day. This car park is usually very busy, today there were 8 cars at the time I visited. I then drove to Lord Street to pay £3.30 for 2 hours.
Using the park and ride was a major attraction to Southport as my wife has mobility issues. We used to visit monthly and spend around £60 on food, drinks shopping etc. Today, we had a coffee and came home. We will not be returning any time soon.
Looking at how quiet Lord St was today, I think this is a poorly thought out decision to try and make a quick pound off the back of visitors. I hope people read this review and show Sefton Council what they think by spending their money elsewhere.

Bulky Collections Are Absolute Morons

Bulky Collections are absolute morons. As a 'couch' isn't listed I chose armchair. Of no, it's called a sofa.
Who cares what it's called it goes under the umbrella of a 'chair'.
NO CONTACT just take a picture of the couch.
How LAZY do you have to be to not even try and resolve the problem just charge you £10.50 for a picture of a couch on our driveway.

Feeding ground for rats

Missed bin bag collection from the Thursday 4th of January
I rang sefton Council on Friday 5th No action was taken even though I explained it was a environmental health problem as it is a feeding ground for rats
The refuge sacks had been stacked in two piles outside local residents homes
One resident is very ill
Which I explained but this did not seem to count for anything and on Friday the 5th the very next day
an ambulance came to take her to hospital and could not even park next to her home due to the obstruction created by the refuge sacks, that were piled up outside of her home
I am Sixty three year old male who has serious health issues and has recently had a stroke and also
I have lung and heart issues, eg
Emphysema and a dilated aortic root aneurism and as such the last thing I need is even more pollution
Due to airborne pathogens
Created by the councils self made putrid rubbish tip that use to be my street, as especially as the air quality is very poor as it is in the L20 area and as such life expectancy is lower than average compared to most parts of the UK
There is also the risk factors of people falling over due to it being left without hazard tape and warning lights at night so the public can avoid serious injuries
It is against the health and safety act to operate in this manner but
apparently they are above the law but on the other hand they are not shy in instructing fines to be collected when it benefits there coffers
Hypocrisy at its finest
It's a do as I say not what I do policy
I reported it today again on the 8th of January and again I was met with red tape and an outright refusal to do anything about this dangerous environmental health issue
The children can no longer play out because of the threat of disease and it is unsafe to open our doors incase of rat invasion
Which believe me is a very real threat
We pay enough in council tax to merit a safe and clean environment but apparently not according to the council and there discriminatory policies enforced on the poorer areas of Sefton as our
street has been criminally neglected and is now being left to rot and become a ghetto
I say this in all impunity as I know for a fact that this would never happen in the more affluent areas of Sefton such as Blundelsands or Ainsdale and Forby
But what really saddens me the most is the utter disregard and the lack of respect for my neighbours and myself and the little value they have put on the health and safety and wellbeing of the genuine good working class people of Bootle old and young
Who are sick to the back teeth of excuses and no action

Enough is enough, we are paying good money for a service that we are not receiving due to
more and more and council red tape who charge us more for doing less
and they have moved the goal posts to avoid accountability and have completely neglected there duty to the community
P.S I gave one star because there was no option for zero stars tbh
I would have gave minus stars as
Sefton council operates a Dickensian policy to the residents of L20 and a big change is needed to regain the trust of my community

I would never visit Southport again…

I would never visit Southport again when I see how sefton council allow such dangerous things to happen and don’t even respond to emails. I would advise tourists to not visit for their own safety.
