Bad Experience
My husband was looking to get a quote on his 2016 Audi S3 today with David and Paul from ‘Sell My Car Ayrshire’. David was very friendly over text and they had arranged a time of 2pm for an in person inspection of the car on the 04/08/25. At around 11am today (04/08) my husband had a text from Paul who said he will be round at 1pm to view the car - Paul works alongside David at ‘Sell My Car Ayrshire’, this text was very surprising and unprofessional due to the fact we were out at 1pm hence why the 2pm time was set. Both David an Paul arrived at 2pm to view the car, Paul led the conversation with quickly walking around the car and then suddenly trying to find an issue with the newly refurbished bright silver alloy wheels by saying they looked different colours, David disagreed with Paul and we found this quite strange. Not once did David or Paul open the car doors to look inside the pristine car, my husband was then asked what he would take for the car to which Paul went in with a low ball offer of 12k (valued elsewhere at 14k) and stated this morning that we had searched a new quote and been quoted from ‘We Buy Any Car’ (the private company unrelated to ‘Sell My Car Ayrshire’) of 12k and this is why he offered this price. Upon hearing this information my husband declined and walked away, we are shocked that this company were allegedly able to search personal details and quotes from a reputable company and let it slip to us that they allegedly can search for this information. If you are looking for quotes to sell your car avoid this company at all cost. ‘Sell My Car Ayrshire’ did not have a Trust Pilot review page so this is why it has now been created and I have left this honest review as we do not want anyone else to be potentially scammed by them. Your quotes online are allegedly not secure with ‘We Buy Any Car’ and ‘Sell My Car Ayrshire’ as it seems GDPR may have been breached due to the fact this company could view our most recent unrelated quotes. Google reviews for ‘Sell My Car Ayrshire’ are glowing reviews and I fear this may be down to them picking and filtering the ones visible to the public. Take caution with this company regarding your personal details. Overall though it was a quick 5 min conversation so if you are looking for a low offer and quick sale then these are your guys :)
