I accidentally subscribed to a monthly plan and realized it wasn't the right fit for my needs. I contacted support immediately, but they refused a refund, citing their rigid policy that only annual plans get a money-back guarantee. I haven't even used the service since the charge. I know of other users who received a refund in similar situations, so the lack of flexibility here is very disappointing. As a first-time user, I expected more customer-centric behavior. SEMRUSH NOT WORTH IT. TAKE A PASS.
BUYER BEWARE: I have used Semrush for years. The data is no longer accurate and the price continues to rise. Not sure what happened. I tried to cancel and they send you an email that ends up in spam or better yet I would click on the link when you find the email in your spam folder and it says "link no longer valid" even though it is less than 24 hours old and you can't cancel. I hate software that make it hard for you to cancel. If they were confident in their software, then they wouldn't make it so hard. There are better software solutions out there that are more accurate and less expensive. Don't try Semrush.

Not worth the hype. Appalling service! I couldn't get support and they seemed disinterested in helping but happy to take my money. Instead sent me generic responses.

I regret ever trying Semrush. It’s not user friendly, and as a small business owner, I had an assistant help me with it for awhile. When I lost my assistant I cancelled my subscription, then I resubscribed hoping I could use it myself. I realized after 2 days it was more than what I could understand and requested a refund until I can hire another assistant to help me. Their customer service was terrible and they wouldn’t consider my request. They lost themselves a customer and got another bad review. Nice job Semrush.

Tried refunding for the monthly subscription of $199 which I didn't plan to use right after the charge appeared on my card. And this is outside their refund policy. What a joke

Might be the biggest scam company there is, got a free trial and after 5 times of trying to charge my card(while it was declining) it finally came through and now they WON’T give a refund, but the biggest problem is that their support team is HORRIBLE. If i could I would sue them, unfortunately they made this terrible and stupid refund policy so they can steal your money legaly.
Semrush is a very valuable tool
Semrush is a very valuable tool! I use it for all things SEO and research. I docked one star because of the hefty price tag. There are often features I would like to use but they require different add-ons for more money.
Predatory Billing: €232 stolen for a 50-minute delay (Zero Usage)
Avoid this company. I was charged €232 for an annual plan I did not want.
I experienced technical issues with their cancellation process during the trial.
I contacted support manually less than 1 hour after the charge occurred
I have ZERO USAGE on the account (logs prove I never used the tool).
Despite this, their support refused the refund, claiming I was 'too late' by 54 minutes. They are keeping €232 for a service I never touched and tried to cancel immediately. This is not business, this is theft.
I have been forced to file a Chargeback with my bank to get my money back.

I’m an advanced user with over 20 years of experience using online and subscription-based software. I manage complex tools daily and I’m not someone who struggles with digital platforms.
I was charged for a paid add-on that I am convinced I never consciously activated.
No clear warning, no confirmation email — the only notification was the charge itself.
Customer support’s response was essentially: you must have clicked something, you don’t remember, pay and move on. No investigation, no fairness, no accountability.
If this can happen to an experienced user, it can happen to anyone.
Making money this way — relying on ambiguous activation flows and hiding behind rigid policies — is ethically deplorable. Regardless of how good the product might be, no one should subscribe to a company that behaves like this.
I will continue to publicly report this experience until the disputed charge — for a service I never knowingly activated — is properly addressed.

I clicked on the box add new users and, without anyone telling me, I was charged with a ridiculous amount of money. The company figured out after a while, and now we want our 1600 dollars back. No answer was received from the customer support.

Don't waste your money. This company has gone downhill so bad it should be studied. It's usefullness has dropped while they raise the price and enact greedy policies (like their refund policy). They are not even staying competitive with new and upcoming tools. They have experienced full enshittification.

I've been shocked at how misleading their pricing is. You click a button thinking you're revealing data that you paid for, and it charges you another couple hundred to thousands without clarity, consent, or approval. They also don't make monthly vs annual charges clear at all, so you think you're spending $1000 on something that's an annual charge but (surprise!) it's monthly! They also basically DON'T issue refunds, for anything. They just take your credit card and every time you click anything in the platform you're charged again! I'm so shocked they haven't been sued for how bad this is. I can't have my credit card on this platform, at all. They're scammers.

They operate a terrible subscription model - which is very hard to cancel. We tried to cancel it in April of last year, clicked through looked like it was confirmed (its bloody hard to find the right buttons to click), BUT we needed EXTRA confirmation on email in writing to confirm the cancellation - continued to bill us for a whole year... spotted it on the card went back to them, won't refund.... Illegal practice of subscriptions - law coming against this sort of rubbish
They charge very easily, without you having time to react
I tried to cancel my free trial on the day I would be charged but it was already too late and got charged 260€...... No refund possible even tough I used it once.
Then I followed a live Semrush training session because I wanted to make the most of my monthly subscription as I couldn't get a refund. I imported a key word list as the guy was showing us. I had more key words on this list than what my current plan was offering so they immediately charged me almost 60€. I couldn't do anything. I wanted to delete the keywords I didn't need but the page was blocked, they were already processing the payment. To possibility to cancel. I quit the page hoping it won't charge me but it did. It really happened in 2 seconds. You don't get redirected to a payment page, they directly charge you......
Cancellation SCAM
I tried to activate a trial package to test a feature. It did NOT work, or at least it said, it din't work as I had used a trial package some years ago. Can't have two trials apparently. As I tried to test a feature I signed up with another (new) account and activated the trial package. Didn't find what I was lookking for, so immediately canceld my subscription. 7 days later I get an e-mail saying, my subscription was renewed. First I didn't even understand what was happening, I sent them a screenshot with their confirmation mail of my trial package. Then I found out, that the initial trial with my first account was indeed active, contrary to what the account had said before. I wrote to their contact page immediately to cancel my package and I belief that I even cancelled it again and went through the process. A month later I received another billing to my card. Tried to explain my case to customer service, no help, not admittance, that activation of a trial account isn't even possible if you had done so before. My ticket where I wrote to customer support also got lost. SAVE a screenshot when you contact them, you won't receive a ticket number or anything

it's more than just cancellation issues
everyone focuses on how hard it is to cancel... and they're right! but there is far more to dislike about the platform. let's start with inaccurate data, most of the reports, and tracking information that they give is wrong. Not sure where they get their information from bu when i first started the subscription they were actually showing information from an old version of the website. once tht issue was clear, i kept getting inacrruate reports about keyword standing etc. I have many positio 1-10 keywords and absolutely none of them showed up. I decided to keep the product longer than i should of in hopes that i could show the metrics to my clients but the metrics were useless. let's not just focus on the riducolous cancelation policy that screams that that don't give a sh*t what you want, let's look at the whole piece of sh*t pproduct.
