We only really looked hard at this platform in Year 11 when we were assisting our lad with revision, I am so annoyed I didnt look harder sooner!
My lad really struggles with writing things down and is very intelligent, this platform takes away all the need for that, all the revision is there for them, I love the way there is the option to read about the subject and then answer questions which is what we have been doing together.
There is also quizzes where he can just have a blast through some questions which is something he really gets a lot from and finds less stressful.
I had to reach out for some help from customer service and they were really helpful.

Seneca overall is a decent study website, but one thing that really gets on my nerves, is that it (especially in maths) has a wrong answer, and then proceeds to force the wrong answer down your throat. A good example is the cos calculator exercise for GCSE Edexcel maths, where EVERY SINGLE answer was wrong.

As a student in secondary school, I can understand how Seneca learning might be able to help some people - it offers a reasonably simple study/revision space and has lots of different subjects you can study on it. However, the constant offers of paying to upgrade my account were incredibly irritating.
The main reason I didn't particularly enjoy using Seneca is that I found it was quite hard to take in any information because of the GIFs that pop up throughout lessons, showing everything from dancing puppies to AI-generated sleeping men. These little videos were often not even related to the question, and rather than lightening the mood as they should, they just acted as a distraction.
Also, many of the questions contained mistakes, which was irritating as it threw you off and made you doubt what the answer actually was.

I prefer this by far from Sparx Learning . This allows you to make some mistakes and you don't have to complete 100% of assignments like Sparx . The questions are possible and is highly recommended for schools . You can do most subjects in most secondary school years on it .

This learning platform is amazing, first of all the information it provides us with is given in bullet points which ensure that the information is clear, and to prevent it from appearing as overwhelming, furthermore the questions asked below and the different methods of asking questions are really engaging, and sometimes even satisfying which makes studying less overwhelming, and more enjoyable. As a student studying Separated Science & Computer Science at GCSE this is going to be a great help in revision, and I am sure it will aid me in getting those top grades. Furthermore, the freemium model that they have created is great as it allows children, of all ages to access education and study resources for all their topics for free, I am considering purchasing premium to further improve my experience anyhow.

I think Seneca is absolutely awful. As a student who uses this app, I genuinely hate it, and I know that around 70% of people I know feel the same way. The memes—if you can even call them that—are a complete waste of time. When I’m trying to revise, they constantly pop up just as I’m trying to move on to the next question, which is incredibly frustrating.
Speaking of the memes, most of them are terribly executed. I’ve been studying serious topics like the Nazis and people dying, and the app makes jokey memes about it. I’ve also been learning about the Ku Klux Klan and Emmett Till—how he was murdered—and yet there are memes about that as well. I find this absolutely disgraceful.
At the end of each topic, there’s a wheel spin that no one wants to do because they’re trying to learn and move on to the next topic. It’s a complete waste of time.
Many answers are handled poorly. If there’s a minor spelling mistake—just one letter off—the app marks it wrong, even though it wouldn’t matter on a real test. Other times, answers that are completely correct are marked wrong. Additionally, some of the content provided by the app is outright incorrect.
Overall, this app is absolutely dreadful. I do not recommend it to anyone—anyone at all.

This platform is honestly just peak i actually find some fun in learning and unlike sparx it actually motivates you when you make a mistake. Seneca is 100 times better then sparx. thanks for existing seneca!

Absolute life saver. I have brought this into my maths department, the children love it as it’s an easy way to manage their out-of-school learning.
We changed from sparx not long ago and it’s the best thing we’ve done as a school.

100% pleased with the Seneca 'experience'. Prompt and up to date feedback to questions regaring learning and assessment; and also a comprehensive question bank. My daughter has used the platform as a both a revisision and learning aid, towards her three science A levels. Interestingly it has also sucessfully been integrated into her school coursework. Thank you. Dr C Gibson

DO NOT USE SPARX, USE SENECA IT IS SO MUCH BETTER
There is so many good features to Seneca compared to that awful website called Sparx, just its name makes me puke at the thought of it
For the sake of your students DO NOT use Sparx AND DO USE SENECA

Very good for the most part but has a few glaring issues..
First, i enjoy how it is presented. Although not the gifs, those are quite cheesy. Don’t remove them though, i like making fun of them with my friends. Other than that, it is visually appealing and i do enjoy the layout.
The learning could be better. I understand the notes are meant to be for revision but they are getting to a point where pupils just use them to get the answers. No revision. Most pils in my school thought this is HOW you did it! Its not bad per say but maybe don’t make it the casual mode for learning. When i started, i didn't realise you could do it without notes because you had to click on the topic, get the screen with modes, click inside the mode, go BACK, then you will be able to revise without questions and THEN you can do questions. Not the best way to explain but i hope you get what im saying. Maybe change up the ui and it will be better.
I know that made the app sound bad but it is quite good! A great variety (though some subjects are given more content than others), i dont think theres art though which is a shame. Other than that, great overall!

Audio button you click on to make Seneca read for you, you cannot choose where you want the audio to start. Second of all, they kind of scam you. I assure you all that if you get the guarantee and finish all the courses but don't reach the expectations and then expect your money back, they have not stated that you only get the money back that you pay for the guarantee, not all the money you buy for the subscription. The guarantee is useless, you just increase your chance of loosing money for no reason. But other than that, Seneca is great for revision and the experience was decent.

This is the most jarring website I have ever used.

Seneca has been fantastic and both my sons have found it to be e really beneficial. It has helped them with higher scores in tests. Staying on top at maths and general revision accross all subjects which is much more cost effective than a tutor. Also the AI tool has been great for helping them work out new maths question and tasks. Also the team are always very quick and helpful at answering any of my questions. Would highly recommend it.

Seneca Learning is an incredibly helpful application.
Recently, I've been using it to study for mock exams, and I find it very helpful. Personally, I find interacting with content very helpful, rather than just reading through long blocks of content.
Personally, the way I use Seneca is by going through a lesson and making notes as I go through - admittedly this makes lessons take a lot longer than advertised :D
I like to use Seneca as a tool alongside other resources to help me create detailed notes - if you're doing full scale revision for assessments, I wouldn't use only Seneca religiously, but as a tool with other resources. If you're just going over some content though, it's really quick to just do a seneca task.
There are a few issues - I find some of the exam questions / harder questions that are found within adaptive mode repeat themselves or are strikingly similar to each other. I've also found that the harder questions in adaptive mode can sometimes have incorrect answers, and I make sure to report these every time.
I would recommend using Seneca as a revision tool, but remember to check your own answers compared to what Seneca believes is the correct answer. I have been strongly considering buying premium for a while now, and I am awaiting my mock exam results to see how impactful a subscription would be.

Seneca used to be quite good for learning, homework and revision. Now it rarely gives you the needed information before giving the questions and is full of AI slop.

Over the past 5 years, I've been making use of Seneca Learning as both a teacher and a tutor. I've become a big fan of their software, as it covers a wide range of qualifications and exam boards, from English vocab and preparation for 11+ and similar entry exams, to GCSE Sociology and A Level Political Studies. To further add to this, they are very receptive to requests and feedback for content addition and modification.
Their basic, free content is already quite expansive, but the additional features really do well to add to student learning experience. They include deeper explanations of question content to help students eliminate their misconceptions, but also new content like extra revision flashcards and content aimed at supporting good passes.
Seneca Learning has helped students deepen their understanding of their classwork and it has also been invaluable in helping set cover work when colleagues are in need of cover. It has become a mainstay in my school and I look forward to seeing how it continues to improve over the years to come.
