Great Support at SEN Ed Kitchen

J has really enjoyed his time at SEN Ed Kitchen. He’s loved baking and making all sorts of things and it’s been an invaluable resource while we’ve been waiting for a school placement. The team truly listened to his interests and understood what he was capable of, adapting activities to meet him where he was at. Thank you so much for all your help — it’s made a big difference to us.

SEN Kitchen = A lifeline

The SEN kitchen has been a lifeline for my daughter. She could never settle in mainstream, she hardly ever left my side without meltdowns. The SEN kitchen she cannot wait to go, she’s so settled there and they’ve created such a safe space for her. They are bespoke and go above and beyond for the children there, cannot thank them enough. I don’t know where we would be without them. If I could give a million stars I would. ✨

Hand on heart, we could not ask for more!

We made the decision to take our daughter, Aeryn, out of mainstream education at the start of what would have been Year 7 due to overwhelming anxiety. At that point, she was exhausted, withdrawn and completely unable to access learning in a way that felt safe for her.

Finding SEN-ED Kitchen has been life-changing for our family.

To see Aeryn now, you genuinely would not believe she is the same child. She has absolutely thrived in this provision. Her confidence has grown beyond anything we could have imagined. She is more independent, more self-assured, and she has developed practical life skills that she now proudly uses at home.

The nurturing, understanding and individualised approach at SEN-ED Kitchen has allowed her to feel safe enough to be herself — and from that safety, she has flourished. She is learning in a way that works for her, surrounded by adults who truly understand neurodivergent young people and meet them exactly where they are.

Hand on heart, we could not ask for more.

SEN-ED Kitchen hasn’t just supported our daughter’s education — they’ve helped her rediscover who she is.

I can’t recommend this provision highly…

I can’t recommend this provision highly enough.
My daughter is a completely different person since attending here. She genuinely looks forward to going, comes home happy, and is so proud of what she’s achieved and the food they create is absolutely delicious too!

In my daughter’s own words: “I feel like they understand me there and listen.” She loves the homely feel and the fact that it’s a small group, which has made such a difference for her. She said she felt comfortable from the start, which for her is huge.

I can’t thank Sarah and her team enough. I am so incredibly grateful for the care, understanding, and support they give my daughter.
