SEPTA ruins safe travel

I was taunted by a mob of black teenagers and hit on the back of my head while waiting for a bus at the Norristown Transportation Center; the security employees were nowhere to be found.

A bus driver, who said “[he] [is] no bus”, eventually got the two uniformed security officers to come out from the back room. They asked us (myself and the witness) to identify the assaulter, but from a far distance and where the teenagers were not even facing us - as though to sabotage the details of the recount and diminish the significance of the incident. Then, we all watched the teenagers just walking away.

Within a week, my likeness was shared throughout transit personnel of other stations, making me a further target.

When bus drivers dissociate from incidents, security skews records, and the surveillance footage gets previewed only on a formal complaint, then it conceals crime and hinders the Attorney General’s pursuing it. A search of SEPTA’s website shows no published reports disclosing rates or types of crime taking place on its grounds – no transparency!

When presence of the center’s security is assumed, the Police (who routinely monitor streets and parking lots) do not patrol there. Having disappeared into the safety of the back rooms, Transit Security personnel enabled open season on its customers.

Reported, witnessed, or surveillance-recorded assault crimes (as with above incident) should be pursued by authorities regardless of victims’ participation (all SEPTA customers are similarly vulnerable), based on the fact of the crime and to the extent of the information available - to curb propagation of violence.

I’ve been using SEPTA for several years…

I’ve been using SEPTA for several years and unfortunately, this company is by far the most inadequate and expensive service. 100% worst company! SEPTA police are never around til after minutes later of a severe situation. They do absolutely nothing and waste tax payers money. Majority of the people that work for SEPTA are racist and rude.

My supervisors did not value my dedication and hard work

I applied as a re-hire at Septa a few months ago, they declined my application and said they found a better candidate after leaving my application on a review status for weeks, who could be a more better candidate than a person who previously worked in their department for a decade? lol it doesn't matter because I was offered a job making almost 15.00 dollars more an hour than I made working for them. I am currently working there now and I am much more content at my new place of employment, but I believe this needed to be said is why I'm writing this review.I repaired and maintained their revenue equipment fareboxes, fare vending machines, etc. when I first started management was excellent but once they started promoting new supervisors the moral of the shop went down, I had a lot of problems with the new managers, they didn't appreciate my work, I was not treated fairly I was harassed in my opinion by them continuously slandering my name and reputation, work culture was nice at first but declined when management changed, the hardest part of the job was not the physical work, the hardest part was not being appreciated or acknowledged for my hard work I dedicated 10 years at Septa performed excellent work a picture of me and other women of trades was put up on the walls at 1234 market to display our excellent work as a woman of trade, but yet I was treated horribly for absolutely no reason at all, the most enjoyable times was working with coworkers and management that appreciated you and your hard work at one point it was like that when I first started there.

Septic? i have been riding Septa for 10 years

I have been riding Septa for 10 years. Not all good, not all bad. I have been stranded after work several times when Septa shut down, without any warning or notice. Can't count how many times I have been late due to bus literally just not showing up. My real beef is after all the funding they have received, fares keep going up, but service and the quality of the buses keep going down. I have almost fallen off my seat due to a driver not slowing down in a normal, safe way. Or because the shocks on the bus are in such bad shape, I thought I was riding a bull in a rodeo. Thanks to all the sweet drivers, & get a different job to all the nasty, rude drivers.
