My wife took on service box for house…

My wife took on service box for house appliance then they started to add more items on and adding more payments till we were paying £100 a month, all the items they were trying to cover were brand new and covered by a 5yr manufacturer gurantee, had not agreed with what they were trying to cover and charge us for, but when I cancelled the payments they started to rant on about it being a 12month contract not told about either.
Don't use them con artists and scammers that's how we feel about them

Cold called my elderly father into…

Cold called my elderly father into getting cover. When he had an issue with the heating and the temperature being -1 couldn't even be bothered to call us back to sort the problem. Taking money and not providing a service. Waste of time.

#Rapid response❤❤❤

There had been issues with communication so I was sent a WhatsApp message asking when would be a good time to call.
They promptly called me and my washing machine has been upgraded due to the inconvenience. 🙏🏽 Which has been ordered and should be here next week 🤗

Avoid at all costs

This company constantly target my mother into the taking out cover very which she does not need. I have told them not to ring politely and unpolitely and the still don't get message

This company should have their license taken away they need to be taken to court. I have put down one star rating but to be honest they should be no star rating. Absolute Cowboys rip off merchants taking money each month and don’t give a damn

Cowboys that don’t care!

Elderly and frail parents have been left without hot water or heating for over a month! Constantly being given different excuses, engineers not turning up when booked in. Told engineer was held up on job on date booked in for repairs, I rang up same day and was told part hasn’t come in! Absolutely disgusting customer service. On their website it says that they’ll fix your appliance/boiler with speed (what a joke)! Avoid at all cost!

Scammed me for years

Scammed me for years, continue to refuse my notice to cancel and continue to phone me telling me I cannot cancel. I want nothing more to do with this company and will be taking matters further.

ABSOLUTE S*** COMPANY!!!
if i could give them a minus rating then it would be -100 was told i couldnt claim for my dishwasher as it was disresionary if they sent anyone out to look at it due to trying to claim to early previously. which i accepted as i had forgotten about the 30 day rule!!! so i paid for the repair myself but after paying for the plan and am well over this time scale this time on another appliance i am now being told they will not be sending anyone out unless i want to pay. total waste of my hard earnt money and like previous reviewers would not recomend them to anyone, only wish i knew how the other people who managed to get any service done, just lucky i guess. Total tin pot company that should not be allowed to trade under the banner of helping people as all they are doing id scamming money out of people. SHAME ON YOU 🤬🤬

My microwave died in literal flames on 5 Feb 2024, I called service box and spoke to the very helpful Gavin. I half expected to be given the run around or charged an excess or made to wait for an engineer visit 3 weeks away...

Nope!

Gavin checked with the claims team, confirmed they would just replace it like for like. He confirmed no policy excess, no additional or hidden cost/outlay for me...

I thought it would take weeks to arrive...

Nope!

The new microwave arrived on 7 Feb 2024!

Absolutely awesome service, affordable cover plans, short wait time when calling.

Highly highly recommended!

No issues for me

I've had issues with this company myself when my dishwasher broke they fixed it and the engineer noticed the baskets were broken and asked for a new one so they replaced the dishwasher. They have fixed several other appliances with issues.

Absolute scammers - cancel your direct debits

My direct debit with Service Box expired in October 2021. The appliance had already been replaced and I did not receive anything from them to renew.

In November 2023 they used the original direct debit to take £9.71 from my account. I have queried it but they claim that they sent me an email (never received) and because I never replied they took the direct debit and refuse to refund because they have covered a nonexistent machine for a month.

A warning to everyone to remove expired direct debits when low lifes like this can steal from your account. Some of the things I’ve read on here about them I’m just glad I noticed so soon.

This company targets vulnerable elderly…

This company targets vulnerable elderly people.

I found one 80 yr old lady with three separate appliance contracts for £17.99 per month. So her account was being debited £17.99 x 3 per month.

She had no idea or understanding of what was happening. She has hearing issues and can’t hear well on the telephone.

After contacting the company and explaining her husband had passed, and she would be cancelling the arrogance was on display from the first minute of the phone call. That arrogance is another tactic when targeting a customer who wishes to cancel. These service contracts were created after her husband passed.

She was told NO, you won’t be cancelling and if you cancel your DD you will have debt collectors assigned to your account.

Atrocious behaviour and incredibly pushy and arrogant men handling customer service.

She will be lodging a complaint with her bank as fraud. She is very upset as she can hardly heat her home never mind be scammed by this company. They should be ashamed.

I will never understand targeting the elderly like this. They are as vulnerable as young children.

WARNING AVOID THESE SCAMMERS

WARNING AVOID THESE SCAMMERS. You might start with a nice sales person for your household item warranty but as soon as you call to cancel they swindle you into a new policy to start after your old one expires but they fool you and start the policy on the same day giving you incorrect information so you're stuck with them again for another year. AVOID AND NEVER USE THESE SCAMMERS. Unprofessional scum of the earth.

Would you believe they had the gall to try this again

I check my bank account frequently and went to them to find put who Ser ice Box was as a direct debit had been put through my account. I certainly try did not set one up and managed to get refund and cancellation of Sky who were cancelled by the bank due to fraudulent prCti es. Was given to understand this has something to do with Insurance but I am well Covered elsewhere. It is not a massive amount but I'm not paying it. Sorry folks. Told I have to pay outstanding balance to pay. They have put through another transaction but I will be down to the bank to have SB blocked and a refund applied. Do they not read these? I have a feeling it is on behalf of a client - Sky to who I have had prior business not nice at that. Are the trying to retrieve on their behalf?

What a scam

What a scam. My mum realised she had been charged £8.99 per month by this company and she didn’t know what it was for. She telephoned only to be told that when she cancelled her talk talk broadband contract she gave talk talk permission to charge her monthly through service box. My mum was told she had signed a 12 month contract and she couldn’t cancel this early. I then telephone service box and spoke to Gavin who repeated the tale above. My mum called talk talk to be told that they had never heard of service box and that my mum had not authorised any contract or monthly payments after cancelling her broadband contract. Thankfully mums bank have agreed to pull back the direct debit payments under the indemnity agreement and the direct debit has been cancelled. The worrying thing is that service box are very determined and adamant in their story so many vulnerable people may feel they cannot cancel the agreement/direct debit. They are a dreadful scamming company.
