No communication, disrespect to property, poor workmanship

Keep a close eye on your credit card transactions, people. My card was HACKED into after I made a first trial payment to Servpro Team Dobson. I am checking my cards often and to my horror, discovered an extra payment to the Team Dobson that I didn’t make. Immediately reported as FRAUD and requested a new card with a different number.

The Team Dobson started with demolition that was totally unnecessary. They removed all they could from the walls that was attached to them permanently (some unique molding pieces I couldn’t locate at all afterwards), ran cords across the room (safety hazard), used ALL outlets so I couldn’t cook a meal, and continued cutting into the ceiling even after meeting resistance due to the metal mesh it is covered with. Boy am I glad that they didn’t succeed. But my insurance company was billed regardless, and no apology.

The water remediation was included in the demolition phase but didn’t start until a few days later. The repairs didn’t happen because I fired them. At that point I discovered that the walls and the ceiling were still wet. The demolition was totally unnecessary but hey, the insurance company was billed regardless. And where are my unique molding pieces? No telling. The walls and the ceiling remained wet afterwards.

I was forced to post a positive review on my phone in haste and under pressure. So now am doing the right thing by posting this review.

I will never hire a Servpro Team Dobson franchise again and don’t recommend them to anyone.

The worst

WOW! Servpro has a 68% 1 star review. The percentage is about to go up! I wish I had read the reviews before hiring them. I spent $3,500 and the smell was not close to being gone. They charge you for every little thing. Hire ServiceMaster instead. They are incredible and will never give up until THEY are satisfied.

Weston Jackson and Angela Smith

Weston Jackson was awesome. My house had extensive flooding. Weston came on the scene and started the process immediately after explaining the process to me.He answered my questions respectfully and put me at ease. He is definitely an asset to your company.
Angela Smith did an awesome job working along beside guys. She explained everything and kept me informed on every matter that pertained to the job. She is an asset to your company also. Both of them are super workers! They deserve six stars!

ServPro of Hayward

ServPro of Hayward, WI. The worst experience of my life. They were hired for contents inventory after a house fire. They threw away a quarter of what I had without including it in our list or taking photos. They also threw away things I asked to keep, and photos and letters that should have been set aside. Luckily, I had my own photos and spent hours and hours going through my photos, making lists and matching/numbering photos. I can't get back the personal items I asked to keep. They did not apologize or give any reason for their shoddy work. They billed us $35,000 for that incredibly unprofessional job and that's outrageous. They also billed us for things they did not do and when questioned on it, I was met with hostility. They did reduce the bills slightly after my complaints. Do not use them, it's a complete ripoff and made a traumatic experience more stressful than I could believe.

Incompetent and SLOW MOVING company, months to complete a repair

Servpro has been attempting to repair our bathroom since the last week in September- it's been SEVEN MONTHS!!! They have lied, damaged an expensive bathtub, ruined walls, left a mess, did not contain areas where they worked so all of my clothes had to be laundered. Both bathrooms, hallways, and entries are full of dust, that now need to be cleaned before they paint. I just found out today that a Mr Cox owns this particular store. Obviously, he DOESN'T know what his employees and staff/ managers, are doing, or NOT doing. He should be ashamed of having such a low priority on repairing people's homes He must be as incompetent as his staff. This whole process has been ridiculously slow, this should have been completed many, many months ago. There have been weeks where no one came to accomplish any kind of work. We've used them before, twice, and the results were great, but not this time. They started working on our bathroom, demolished it, threw items away, fired and hired many employees in this process, several contractor came and went. One gentleman left because of the work ethic they have, don't blame him. I don't know what else to do. THEY DON'T CARE. And I think they are going to try and gouge my insurance company. According to the contract that I finally signed months after the start of the demolish, they have until the third week in May, I doubt it that they will be done by then. DON'T USE THE ELIZABETHTOWN, KY LOCATION, YOU'LL BE SORRY.

This contractor was going to repair my houe

This contractor was going to repair my house damage after a neighbor kid hit my house with his truck. After I told them they would need to get the deductible from the at-fault insurance, they washed their hands of the project and left me holding the bag. There was little to no communication between State Farm Insurance and this contractor (ServPro). My house was damaged on January 9, 2024, and it still has not been repaired as of April 22, 2024.

THE big rip off

There is no communication. They'll do it. They want when you're not in town. And if you don't like things, they'll walk on you. Call you a liar right to your face. Talk about your parents have past the experience sucked and they won't do nothing for you. Nothing lost all my curtain rods. And curtains and they told me that's my fault. That's how bad this company sucks anybody ever uses them You gotta be there to watch every move because they'll do what they want when they want. How they want it and Devon cornell the biggest piece of blank you wouldn't believe him he'll lie to you. He'll tell you when will be there then Never shows up. He's the one that will talk about the people that has passed. They shouldn't be working in a public Because they do not know how to treat people.

Outstanding, Skilled workman!!!

The people that did the repair work on my home were absolutely wonderful. Fred Christie and Leon Alvey, the two craftsman that repaired my home were amazing! The workmanship and expertise these two had was truly awesome, and I am so appreciative. If the rest of the Servpro workman are as capable as these two, that makes Servpro the best in the business.

Poor workmanship and lack of response to a problem they caused.

Due to water damage our insurance company hired Servpro to remove our kitchen floor. They arrived on time. Cleanup was a joke, they only removed large pieces of debris and nothing more. Workmanship was sloppy and they were also responsible for additional damage in one area at the base of our kitchen cabinets. When we asked them to repair the damage they said our insurance would cover it. The installation of the new floor is STILL on hold until the necessary repairs can be made. VERY DISAPPOINTED in workmanship and their lack of response to a problem THEY CAUSED.

Servpro gave an estimate over 15K

Servpro gave an estimate over 15K. I feel that they inflate their prices. They said that the insulation would need to be replaced due to the mold but I found out that mold cannot grow on insulation. They lie so they can justify inflated prices. Not a good company.

They came right away to do the water…

They came right away to do the water remediation, and did a good job. That was just before Christmas.
It took over six weeks before they started the restoration. When they finally did, they had one person working most of the day doing something, then when they started the carpet replacement they left one person here all day to do it all. He worked hard and got a lot done, but when he left, we found that all of our furniture was jammed in one room, there were carpet scraps and tools scattered in the other rooms, and we had no bed to sleep in. I'm not a happy camper to say the least.

This is a worthless co

This is a worthless co. They came and did an estimate Thursday 2/8 and stated you’ll have it at the end of the day. I called the following Tuesday as I still didn’t receive it and they gave all sorts of excuses. It’s Friday 2/16 and still nothing. It’s unbelievable how they treat customers. Stand clear of this company. There are others out there willing to help you out.

Way overpriced and rude sales person

Way overpriced and rude sales person. They talked negative about every other company as if Servpro was the only company that does things "the right way." They were going to do more work than was actually needed in order to raise their prices. This company did not have any integrity and attempted to take advantage of our family in our time of need. Servpro might provide good work, but they were not honest or reliable for us. I'll never call Servpro again unless they make some serious changes. One of the first changes should be with removing Project Manager Justin Ballas from the Richmond/ Chester/ Tri- Cities office.

They did outstanding job to removed the ceilings from the water damages…came from Upstairs on my condo. Still waiting for the complete construction. They covered the ceilings with thick plastic. It’s been 2 weeks… This is inconvenience. Also unhealthy & stressful

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING HIRING:

On March 29, 2021, my father’s home sustained excessive damage due to an electrical fire, On March 31, 2021, he signed a contract with ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids. He was relieved to know they could take care of all aspects of the restoration process including cleaning, reconstruction, and storage of his contents while he temporarily relocated. ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids told my father that the entire process would take 6-9 months.
It took ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids almost THREE YEARS! My father passed October 1, 2021, and never got to return to his home. We received multiple excuses and multiple completion dates when questioned about the progress and completion. ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids hired subcontractors to do the work. The communication between the subcontractors and the project manager was extremely poor, there were issues with keeping consistent subcontractors, poor workmanship, and a problem with no one working for extended periods. During the packing and storing of my father’s possessions, antiques and family heirlooms were damaged or missing. When submitted with the final invoice, there was a 56% increase in costs from the initial dwelling claim estimate. The final invoice was 18% higher than the actual assessed value of the home!
I feel a responsibility to warn the public of our experience, I would never want another family to go through what we endured. The following are suggestions and considerations to consumers if you are contemplating hiring ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids:
1. Take the time to read the ROBARB, LLC dba SERVOPRO contract thoroughly. If you do not understand it, have an attorney review it for you. It will be money well spent.
2. Create a service agreement addendum that outlines dates for completion and monetary penalties for failure to meet those deadlines.
3. Request names, addresses and phone numbers of all subcontractors.
4. Demand the construction/remodel restoration credentials for all ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids employees assigned to your project. Ask for references!
5. If your insurance company insists that you use ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids, remind them that YOU are the customer.
6. In our experience, the spoken and written words of our project manager as well as the owner of ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids proved to be consistently unreliable.
7. A formal complaint was filed with SERVPRO’S corporate headquarters in Gallatin, TN, only to be deferred back to the local franchisee, ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids. Be aware that SERVPRO INDUSTRIES, INC prioritizes supporting their local franchises rather than their paying customer. Take your business elsewhere!

Read and Learn and Pass it On

On the evening of March 29, 2021, our father’s home sustained damage due to an electrical fire. He escaped uninjured but was forced to relocate. This home has been in our family since our grandmother purchased it in 1951.
 
3/31/2021 was the day that our father signed the contract with ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids, IA to complete the restoration of our family home. The owner & project manager assured our father that their company could take care of all cleaning, restoration, and storage of his personal property and that the timeline for completion would be 6-9 months.
 
At the time, it was reassuring to our family that a local company would be overseeing the entire process of restoration, reconstruction, storage, as well as “cleaning”. Little did we know that this journey would consume almost three years of our lives. 11/29/23 marked 32 months to the day that our father signed the contract with SERVPRO.
 
The exorbitant bill has been paid but there is much left to be said. This is a forewarning to anyone who may ever need assistance after a disaster when decision-making is driven by emotions, distress, and uncertainty.
 
Our father passed away on 10/1/21 and was never able to return to his beloved home. Throughout the reconstruction, we were continually given multiple completion dates by both the project manager and the owner of the company beginning in July 2022.

The delays required our family to obtain two claim extensions from our insurance company and family members who purchased the home were forced to reapply for mortgages due to the expiration of rate locks. By the time they could close on the transaction, their interest rates had increased by over 2%.
 
The project manager admitted to his failures and assured us that he would “Make it right”. This did not happen.

Incompetencies and disorganization run amok at ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids.

Consumers Beware! Please educate yourself and read the Greg-Amy Stewart post on Facebook for a detailed account of our journey and how to avoid the same mistakes we made.

If a natural disaster or any unexpected catastrophic event impacts your family, take the time to thoroughly consider all your options. ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids may tout themselves as trusted leaders in the restoration industry with promises to return your property to “like it never even happened” condition but be prepared for a journey that will leave you questioning the capabilities of this business, as well as their ethics.

We are steadfast in our mission to honor our father’s legacy. He was a lifelong Cedar Rapidian and proud WWII Veteran who entrusted and believed that ROBARB, LLC dba SERVPRO of Cedar Rapids had the utmost concern for our situation and would complete the repairs of his home in a timely manner.  He came from a generation that entrusted people to follow through with what they said they would do.
 
If our parents and grandparents were alive today, they would be demoralized by what has transpired over the past three years.

I was referred to them by someone I had…

I was referred to them by someone I had good reviews. They didn’t do the job, instead jerked me around and hung up on me because I yelled. They had canceled 3 times, but at least notified me. The day of appointment on the 20 Dec they didn’t contact me to tell me they were canceling. I got up very early to make sure my dogs weren’t in their way. After 8 I realized there was no sign of them. They could have called the night before, at least made more effort to diffuse the situation.

Initially they did a great job on…

Initially they did a great job on cleaning our house after our fire until I found my Louis Vuitton bag missing from my closet and I had proof of it. I contacted them and they said they can do nothing since they didn’t work inside the closet but I had proof it went missing from their crew. They said they can’t do anything but then offered to pay me with check what I originally paid for the bag. Unfortunately the bag was fake and I was honest about it so I got money for that but that doesn’t cover the fact that they stole from my house and they denied it!

If you want ripped off…use Servepro

Totally inept and useless. Our daughter turned our tub water on and it overflowed down through the house. We called servepro and they were out first thing the next morning. They proceeded to install all the dehumidifiers and dryers that they said were needed and also disassembled all our cabinets and filled a dozen boxes with plates and assorted glassware. After a few days they said it was all good and they retrieved all their equipment and left. My contractor came in about a week and half later to put the cabinets back and start to repair the drywall that servepro had removed. As soon as he went in our basement he said we had a problem. The servepro guys had one small dehumidifier initially in our basement and when they left that said it was all good. Well it wasn’t. Not only was it totally soaked down there but now it had been wet for almost 2 weeks! My wife has a serious mold allergy and had to leave the house for a week while they came in again and had to set up a secure enclosed area to put more dehumidifiers and dryers and scrubbers in. It was totally their fault even by their own admission. By the way they charged me another 2300 for their mistake!!!!!!!! I would absolutely NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON.
