Had an issue with my order. Faulty part

Had an issue with my order. I emailed and initial response was prompt. Said they would send a new part and email me with tracking number. A week and a half later no further communication. I tried contacting and no response. Terrible customer service and follow up.

Absolutely terrible - STAY AWAY

Absolutely terrible. I still haven't gotten my order (30 Shesbirdie alarms), so I can't review the product. I had reached out in August via e-mail and spoke with someone about placing an order. We went back and forth 3 e-mails and I said I would be in contact with my order. When I reached back out, I could not get any response. I decided to place the order through the site. I placed it 11/10. It was supposed to arrive yesterday. As of today, the orders says it is "Pending Review". I had gotten an auto e-mail yesterday that just said, "Thank you for your interest in Shebirdie" , I have e-mailed back and no response. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Light doesn’t stay on or flash

I bought six units. I was under the impression that the light stayed on and you had an option to make it flash. That is not true. Do they really expect a woman running for her life to hold the button in? That’s ridiculous -false advertising! Even if you put a piece of tape on the light, you can’t shut it off with the on off button. I Dont recomend

The unsubscribe and manage preferences…

The unsubscribe and manage preferences links in their email marketing are completely broken in all emails they send. I have no way of deleting my profile or unsubscribing to comms even on their website there is no way to do this. I’ve emailed them twice with no reply. Will have to block eventually if this keeps happening but then they get to keep my data? Ridiculous, sort it out Birdie

Very very very slow shipping

Very very very slow shipping, had to wait an incredibly long time to receive my order. Then when it arrived it was missing one birdie. I had to get in contact with the company again to ship out another one and am currently waiting again for it to arrive. Terrible service

I ordered a bundle over a month ago for…

I ordered a bundle over a month ago for my daughters and grandchildren. No shipping information is available. When I go to track it, 1 form takes me to USPS, that’s states waiting for package to arrive. The next time I track it it takes me to UPS, stating waiting for package to arrive. I have sent no less than 3 emails. No one has has gotten back to me. I would not by from this site.

Appalling Service and Items Not Sent or Switched without Consent

I have placed two orders with this company and both were either wrong or incomplete. The first order I placed had a colour switched, which I did not ask for nor did they advise me. I didn't challenge it. The second order there was an item missing. This is the email I sent on 27 December 2024.

"Hello She’s Birdie Customer Service Team

"I ordered five She’s Birdie alarms on 30 November 2024 on Order # XXXXX.

"I received a parcel today – 27 December 2024.

"I only received four of the items (see photos) plus the free gift. The charcoal one was missing.

"Please also note that I have ordered twice from you and both orders have been incorrect. The first one had one of the colours swapped out. I didn’t query it because the order came in late – about five weeks from the order date – and I needed to gift the alarms as soon as possible.

"But this is the second order with a major problem.
Even though I think your product is a good one, I can’t risk ordering with you again because 2/2 orders have been incorrect.

"In the meantime, please send me the charcoal alarm to fulfil the entire order.

"Thank you."

As of today (23 February 2025), I have not received an email response or the item I ordered.

I will not be ordering with this company again. The service is appalling.

Deceptive advertising

Deceptive advertising. I had no idea a $90 annual subscription was needed to have it function as anything more than a whistle.
I bought three as gifts and tried to return 2. They gave me a hard time and said they could not guarantee I would get a refund!

Mixed

I got one for Christmas, I opened it up to try it, it didn't work at all. There are no instructions for changing a battery and you can't open the device anyway. Shame on these scammers for using women's safety as a way to make money.

Update: I contacted customer service, who were adamant about the company's quality. I have, as requested, asked the gift giver to contact them. We'll see.

Later update: Customer service has been exceptionally helpful and tried to find the giftgivers' information to reimburse her (that card has since been cancelled, and she is frankly, too busy to deal with this). They also insisted on sending me a new device and a "gift." I declined both. I asked for instructions on changing the battery. There's a YouTube video. My device does NOT open so easily, so I fear this another recycling conundrum. I'm upgrading my rating, thanks to the wonderful contact with customer service, but I'm still critical of the lack of instructions in the packaging and the seemingly impossibility of changing a battery.

Customer Service does not provide a…

Customer Service does not provide a phone number to call. Their 30 day return policy starts from day you order, not when you receive the items. Subscriptions for the Birdie + also starts from the order you order, and that is not clear at all. I ordered 5 Birdies +. Exactly a month later I was charged for 10 subscriptions, without even a way to cancel and without getting my three month trial as advertised. Still working to clear some of this up.

I wish I had read these reviews before…

I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased. Be aware that if there’s not a phone number to call-the customer service is bad. I purchased two for Christmas gifts. Their site doesn’t tell you the “free” subscription starts the day you receive them. By the time Christmas came the subscriptions were already nonexistent.

Disappointed

Order delayed by 3 weeks due to poor communication

Ordered this product on Dec 3 for a Christmas gift for my little sister who listed this as her most wanted gift. TWO WEEKS LATER I received an email saying the color I ordered was out of stock and asking me to choose a new color. When I replied with my surprise at how delayed this request was, I was given a short reply from the customer service agent. I chose a new color and my order was updated but instead of expediting shipping to ensure I'd get my order in time for Christmas, they selected standard. Needless to say, it still isn't here on Christmas Eve. Really disappointed in this company and its clear they don't care about doing the right thing for their customers.

4 out of 10 did not work.

I ordered 6 Birdies & got 1 free. Three of the six did not work. They sent me 3 replacement units right away. One of the 3 didn't work. They kept asking me to attach a video of the broken one. For some reason the video wouldn't attach to the link. I sent pics w the switch set to on & no lights flashing. It's a great idea but 4 out of 10 not working .. not the best quality control.

2 Year's Later I discover Birdie won't activate alarm

As numerous others have written, I too purchased a Birdie+, downloaded and app, paid a subscription only to find that I could not get the app to stay connected. When out and about, one does not have constant wifi, so this device will not send messages to your contacts and all the other things you think you'll get. I paid for a subscription for about 4 months, though I tried to cancel right away. Also the subscription today says about $5 monthly, so i don't know why I paid about double. I decided that I'd still use it as just a loud alarm and hung it on the strap of my purse. The last 2 years, I've walked around, sometimes at night, overseas, alone, thinking that at least I have an alarm. Guess what? I never tested it. The pin in mine won't release. I just decided to test it, as I leave for Europe again tomorrow and I thought I better change the batteries. I don't recall ever testing it. Imagine my surprise when I yanked and yanked and the pin would not release. I'm so disappointed by this, as I was counting on having an alarm as I travel through countries that don't allow pepper spray.

Don’t waste your money

Don’t waste your money. I purchased mine last year with a subscription thinking it’s a great idea/concept for a woman to have a personal alarm. Mind you I downloaded the app and connected, but realized recently that for an entire year, I wasn’t connected. I thought you will always be connected - no, the trick is you’re supposed to have the app open at all times and connected to WiFi. So I’m strutting around the streets doing this and that going here and there with this device, and I was disconnected. Any who, fast forward to October 2024 when my subscription renewed and according to the app, my battery was low. I sent the customer service an email (no phone number) and they told me what type of battery to purchase and where and also included a link to a YouTube video to show me how to change the battery. I purchased the battery from Amazon and it arrived on Saturday. Sunday I opened the email with the video/link to YouTube to change the battery - guess what? The device in the video doesn’t match what I have. So I emailed customer service and they said someone would get back to me. 25-hours later, no on did so I asked for a refund and to cancel my subscription. Why have different models of the device and be a one-trick pony - meaning you only have an instructional video for one device, even though you sell different devices, and no one knows how to change the battery.

Birdie+ features are useless-NOT HAPPY!

I bought the Birdie+ because of the live support and location sharing features. I open the app on my phone then make sure the Birdie is connected. Then I go about my day biking in the woods. I kept sending location notices to my contacts but when I got back home I was told that noone received my notifications. When I went to the app it said my birdie was disconnected. Additionally this happened everytime I've left the house. I reached out to support which is only through email. I get responses in 5-7 days. They don't provide any real support just that I need internet service for it to work. How is it possible to have internet service in the woods or walking at the park? I have cell/data service but they said I need internet service at all times. Reaching out to them is exhausting and I bought 3 of these things and they are useless. Now I have to try and see if I can my money back for the subscriptions. I also purchased these devices through the company website rather than Amazon because I was expecting to get better service and support if there were any issues. I keep asking to speak with someone live but they don't give me that option. The AI autoresponder email is not helpful either. It even gives you links to articles that are supposed to help but the links don't work.

Negligent practices

The app has hot functioned in months, which makes it useless. The customer service is awful. I'm paying for a subscription for a service that isn't functioning. It's a shame, because the concept of having a lifeline is wonderful, but if they know their service does not work and they continue to sell subscriptions they are actually putting women at risk.
