UNAUTHORIZED/ DOUBLE BILLING & MANAGEMENT NEGLIGENCE

May 28, 2026:

DO NOT START A MEMBERSHIP WITH THIS COMPANY THROUGHOUT THIS WHOLE REGION… However, buckle up for the story below…

Are you looking for a Local Car Wash Membership that reactivates old accounts without permission or any sort of heads up, Double Charges you on two separate accounts for one membership, and is within a region run by careless Management? Then this is the Car Wash for you!

I initially signed up for a promo membership in 2024, canceled before the free month expired and before the first charge on my card and moved on with my life. Then in 2025, I opened a new account on a separate card (under false pretenses that my account was just being updated with a different preferred method of payment to reactivate my previous account)… WRONG

Fast forward to now, May of 2026. They inexplicably reactivated membership charges on an old account (that I did not know existed), on a Credit Card that I no longer use to this day, that is in fact locked up in a safe at home (due to it being through an out of state Credit Union that I cannot as easily access my account for Deposits or Withdrawals), and inevitably leading to delinquent payments on that credit card since I do not regularly check for charges to it since I havent consciously approved or swiped that card in over a year, AND not to mention meanwhile also charging my updated card on the separate but additional/ current account that I knew about and have authorized the membership charges for about the last year (meaning for the past 3 months I have ALSO been paying DOUBLE for only ONE membership.

(Although I am very protective over my Credit History for obvious and my own personal reasons)
At first, considering the fact that when I initially went into the car was about a month ago and was given the email to the REGIONAL MANAGER, Sergio Hernandez, I have been more than patient with this process (even though I figured there would have been some sort of urgency behind this level of matter considering the frustrations I expressed initially), that could not have been any further from the truth. Despite x2 additional visits from the first acknowledgement trying to get some help speaking with the Local Car Wash Manager and attendants (who I saw making contact with Sergio Hernandez) and x2 emails (after giving him ample time to even start off by acknowledging this issue). I have yet to hear from any Manager above the one who directed me to the higher ups.

I’ve been double-billed, left in the dark, and still no resolution. Beware of their billing practices and stay far away from any Shiny Shell Car Wash locations within whatever they consider this Region that covers East Layton or any Region that Sergio Hernandez is in charge of unless you are interested in running into a similar situation with no contact from Management. — But, if you decide to ignore my advice/ experience, at the least, be SURE to keep a close eye on charges/ double charges to your accounts INCLUDING potential previous authorizations that have since been cancelled & closed. Because they may surprise you with a deactivation with no heads up, nor authorization.

Sidenote: By the time you have read this far, this will be reported to the B.B.B. to protect others. As we are now coming up on a month of zero acknowledgement toward this issue toward these bad business practices and negligence. Stay safe out there!
