Shippingbo ruined our delivery experience

Order placed with El Corte Ingles for a replacement Fridge/Freezer which had failed on the Monday, so urgent.
Delivery booked for Thursday, with the only timeslot of 9 am to 9 pm.
Thursday came and went without any delivery or contact.
We contacted El Corte Ingles Thursday night & Friday morning to find out what had happened.
The carrier telephoned our landline Friday lunchtime, saying that they did not deliver on Thursday, as they did not have our landline telephone number. They said that they had our mobile number, but wouldn't ring that.
We had given El Corte Ingles our mobile & landline numbers, plus our e-mail address.
They now say that they will call us again on Friday evening (why?) and on Saturday morning.
We have been without a fridge/freezer since Monday morning, with temperatures of 30°C +.
Why is it so difficult to deliver on time and to instructions?
Use someone else, we shall.
