Great customer experience

First to do well, in customer service you need to listen. Secondly you need to have knowledge on the questions customers have. These were all provided and done exceptionally well. Time was taken to answer and even reanswer and affirm any questions. It’s one thing to sell something . It’s another to own it . The help at Shock Surplus was sensational and I am glad I did not piece these items out with other outfitters. The knowledge was absolutely wonderful. If you are debating getting shocks or know that you are but have questions their people know this business and do it very well.

I wanted to intentionally write a…

I wanted to intentionally write a review for these guys. They've been amazing in communication, information, price and shipping. They educated me on my trucks suspension system, explained all my options for replacing or rebuilding the shocks. Multiple emails full of questions got quick replies with solid, helpful info that allowed me to make the best choice for my truck.

While I ended up going with a local shop to rebuild them, the moment my 250 Transit Van (or any of my other cars) needed shocks I ordered without hesitation. The price was competitive and the (free) shipping was faster than Amazons been recently.

I have a lot of cars and do all my work myself, it feels good to have Shock Surplus as resource and business I know I can trust. Who's employees are knowledgeable and actually care about their customers and product. 10/10.

Sean Bowman was the best

Sean Bowman was the best! I asked detailed questions and he was patient in answering. I truly appreciate thoughtful responses; they make me feel like my questions are important. Sean's help and responses to my questions were informative, detailed, and specific to my personal vehicle. I felt he truly understood what I wanted to achieve, and helped me get there. Knowledge was through the roof BTW! I made an almost $6k purchase from Sean today, and feel great about it! Thanks dude!

Icon No Joke!!

That they did not play getting to the point. No frills bull that so many other companies do in regards to warranty etc... They are prompt and had everything taken care of right after they opened up in the morning.

We do want to clarify that the kit you ordered is a custom order kit. As stated on the product page, the base kit and price include front and rear shocks only. Springs and pre-assembly are optional add-ons and must be selected from the drop down menus on the right side of the page. Additional upgrades and accessories such as control arms, springs, and other components are also optional and are not selected by default.

All optional items clearly show their associated price changes when selected. If you have any questions about the options or would like help reviewing your order, we are more than happy to assist and make sure everything is clear moving forward.

Excellent Customer Service

Shocks and struts were received in a timely manner but what stood out was the customer service provided by Nick Cao. We had an issue with the order and they took care of it right away and made it right. I'll always go out of my way to give my business to companies with outstanding customer service, and based on my experience with Shock Surplus, I'd do business with them again!

My experience with Shock Surplus is spot-on

My experience with Shock Surplus is excellent. Over the Holiday weekend, I ordered my replacement FOX shocks on my 2008 Silverado 2500HD. They carried the exact replacement with the best price plus discounts due to the XMAS sales. My order was processed, and the shipment arrived on time during the holiday weeks. I went to install the front shock on my truck and noticed the bushing eyelet was much wider than the previous that prevent to install to the factory lower control arm bracket. I contacted Shock Surplus Customer Service to let them know my issue. I also contacted FOX Customer Service to inform them the front shocks don't fit. After multiple conversations with FOX CS, they confirmed the bushing for the eyelet was the wrong size for the shock by providing the specifications of the bushing. He mentioned they have experienced factory assemblers have been installing the wrong bushings on many orders. I reached out to Shock Surplus Customer Service and started a return on the front shocks. Customer Service Rep, German Martinez, assisted me with my claim regarding the remarks provided by FOX CS, and was able to get me an RMA and shipping label. I shipped back the front shocks and received the replacement 10 days later, due to FED EX issues. I opened and inspected the front shocks, again the same issue with the eyelet bushings is incorrect sized by the factory. I informed German the issue and another Customer Service Rep, Bryan, replied with the correct part numbers for the sleeve and bushing to fit on my shocks. He offered to send me the sleeves at no cost but did not have the bushings in stock. I went to my local offroad shop to have them order and press the bushings to the shocks. They submitted the order with FOX on the correct part numbers and will install the bushings once the parts arrive. All I can say, I had great experience with Shock Surplus, pricing was great, freight was on time, able to perform the returns without any delay and provide the service when I needed help. I am not blaming them for the mishap with FOX; they gave assistance the best they could.

Great over all experience

Service from Shock Surplus it’s fantastic firstly. Quick shipping, everything is super well packaged and instructions are straight forward for install. I would recommend watching some videos and read all of the instructions before starting. Upper control arms you will need a large 32mm socket and a Torque wrench up and over 200flbs.

Non the less the product and easy of commutation with SS was fantastic. Even after getting everything and reaching out regarding if I ordered the correct upper control arms for my application they ensured it was. No issues at all.

Highly recommend

I had decided to replace my suspension and the staff at Shock Surplus was very responsive and helpful in picking out an awesome replacement. At that stage I was on a ship at sea, but Bryan was excellent at answering all my questions and responding to my numerous emails, even though I was in a completely different time zone. I placed my order with them and everything arrived quickly and without any issues. When I returned home from my trip I went with them for the install which went smoothly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and I look forward to working with them in the future.

Great product, not excellent

Great product, timely delivery made my truck handle potholes A LOT better.
my only gripe is both top portions of front shocks (where the bolts go) did NOT fit my mounting bracket they were both about an 1/8” to wide…nothing an angle grinder cant fix. however, if i did not have access to such tools, that would have been infuriating

Recommended items with purchase did not include all items needed

Shocks arrived and were everything that I expected. They did have recommended items to purchase with the shocks, including Beilstein dual reservoir mounts which I selected to add this item to my purchase. I did not realize that they would not offer everything that needed for my current purchase. I received one shock mount so I have a second shock that I had to separately purchased. Needless to say I went elsewhere for that purchase because I felt this was very deceiving.

I want to apologize that you felt deceived, as that was certainly not our intention. The Bilstein reservoir mounts are sold individually, and this is stated on our website within the product description. That said, I understand how the recommended item placement could have led to confusion, and I appreciate you calling that out.

Regarding the review response, the initial issue locating the order was due to a name mismatch between the review and the order details. Once the screenshots were provided, we were able to confirm everything.

Awesome customer service

The coil springs and rear shocks came and were exactly what I needed. Working with Daisy M on some more parts for the front and has been very helpful to continue this project without trying to upsell while listening to what me the customer wants. Thanks for great service
