Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the products, frequently reporting significant damage that was not disclosed or photographed accurately, leading to items arriving in much worse condition than expected. Customers also found the pricing to be excessive, especially when combined with high shipping and handling fees, which often made inexpensive items surprisingly costly. The website itself was a source of frustration due to poor navigation and a lack of seller ratings. The quality of items was consistently criticized, with many receiving broken or incorrectly described goods. Furthermore, the delivery service was often unreliable, characterized by high shipping charges, significant delays, and inadequate packaging that resulted in damaged items. Some people also felt that the bidding process was unfair or designed to drive up prices.

But now they are changing the senior discount days from 25% to 10% and lowering their employee discounts. Great Experience But Doubts About One Location

I've had an excellent experience with shopgoodwill.com over several years and dozens of items. I would urge caution, however, with some of the "fine art" listed by the Licking Knox location in Newark Ohio. There are hundreds of pieces with "buy it now" prices in the thousands of dollars purporting to be by famous artists such as Picasso, Peter Max etc. Earlier listings described the pieces as "numbered on the piece" when they weren't. The "Letters of Authenticity" no longer appear in the listings. Most were from Artova.com, a company with no information on the web except for its own website, Facebook and Instagram pages, which doesn't appear to have a physical address.

Fedex was the only issue..

I ordered a midi keyboard and it went really well until fedex shipped the package to the wrong address (state). I contacted shopgoodwill.com through their site and they corrected the issue. The keyboard arrived several days later wrapped in a whole roll of bubble wrap. I only gave it 4 stars because of the Fedex mix up.

Rip-Off

They showed a cable along with the device I ordered. When arrived it didn't have the cable. The device was much dirtier/damaged than in the pictures shown online. Will never order from them again. Scumbags only out to improve the CEO's bottom line and cut out "resellers." I know now to trust resellers more because most of them care. Goodwill does NOT.

They've suspended my accounts for no reason. App sucks and they need to fix it.
Overpriced items, shipping is beyond bs how much it is on a lot of items. Customer service sucks and don't care.
Took forever to get a refund for 1 item I sent back from 1 goodwill. Another goodwill lost my order so I had to argue with them til they sent me my item I paid for.
My new account I been able to buy a couple things but now they suspended me from bidding for no reason when I've bought every item I won a bid on. Pure bs.
Bad experiences and poor customer service/communication.
Goodwill deserves consequences.

Very dishonest! Sold me $600 of untouched jewelry-so it said in item description, but it was gone through. Very dishonest. Worst part is who do I call to prove my case?!?! No one knows!!!! No accountability on there end!

Definitely Underrated! Definitely Worth Checking Out!

Honestly, I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about shopgoodwill but I actually really like it. I know the people that work at Goodwill are not experts and a lot of the time things are listed basically or inaccurately but you got to give them some credit because they work with lots of different types of items everyday with no time to research. Every time I have bought anything off of shopgoodwill it always arrived on time and the people that work there are very nice. They will help you quickly and respectfully. Honestly, you can also get some super cool things at an unbeatable price! Definitely a cool place to check out and get some great stuff!

Don't waste your money.

Purchased two necklaces and neither are as described. - One is rose gold and described as yellow and is so tiny and insignificant as compared to the photographs.
- The other weighs half of what was written on their website!
I feel completely and utterly ripped off!
I don't know how they can get away with this?

I think the website is trying to liquidate items that wouldn’t sell in the stores and this is how they decided to attempt to turn a profit on broken down stuff that should be thrown away.

Shopgoodwill Of North Georgia Is…

Shopgoodwill Of North Georgia Is Horrible, I just recently purchased an Ibanez electric guitar from this location, When I received it it was banged up something terrible, it was not this way in the listing pictures, I zoomed in on every picture and observed what few minor blemishes it had, nothing to amount to anything but when I received it it had major scrapes, and scars all the way threw the paint, My guess is that little kids got a hold of it and played with it, When I contacted management about this they were totally unconcerned, they just said we sold it as is but the way it was when it was listed and the way it was when I received it was totally different and this damaged did not happen in shipping, the guitar was fairly well packed and there was no damage to the box, so all this damaged happened after they took pictures of it and the time it was packed for shipping, So with all this said if you are smart you will avoid buying anything from Shopgoodwill Of North Georgia

Don’t buy glass unless you can pick up.

I have been fortunate in finding various greatly discounted cashmere and leather items. Also, certain sterling silver items. However three separate times, collectible glass items I won at bid arrived in shards because they were poorly packaged, and each time they refused to sign a waiver of claims so that I could claim the true insured value of the item from the carrier. After all my work at locating these gems, I can only get a refund of the bid price and shipping. DON’T BUY GLASS from them. Clearly, there is no training or guidance where packaging is concerned.

I won two 24 inch wooden figures and paid for them right away. After 9 days they were still not shipped. I wrote to them and they told me they couldn’t find them and they issued a refund to me. I wrote back and asked them how it’s possible to lose two 24 inch tall figures. They wrote back and told me “thank you for your business” and closed my case.

Pay attention to fees/shipping rates

Have won a few earring sets, they charge nearly $12 to ship thru fedex and will not adjust fees based on weights. Have received a couple broken items that were not disclosed in listing. Customer service is slow and often not helpful. Sad, it’s very much become “greed will” for stuff donated for free.

Shopgoodwill is a notoriously corrupt…

Shopgoodwill is a notoriously corrupt online retailer. Their advertising practices are atrocious, and they scapegoat their employees for any issues. It’s as if they train their staff to provide inaccurate product descriptions and misleading advertisements. The company’s customer service is absolutely dreadful. They fail to respond with genuine assistance or prioritize customer satisfaction, even after years of shopping or substantial spending. Moreover, they impose exorbitant fees for no apparent reason and deliberately miscalculate shipping costs, such as charging a 1-pound item as 12 pounds. To add insult to injury, Shopgoodwill lacks a dedicated telephone number for customer support, making it impossible to resolve issues or speak to a representative. This company is a complete scam, and it’s truly unfortunate!

The best thing to do is Not shop there

The best thing to do is Not shop there, since they constantly raise prices.$20.00 for used wore out jeans- you can get them new at rose’s for $10. They are at the price of Gabriel’s.so it’s better to go buy new. If everyone stops going maybe they will get the hint to bring prices to $2-3.00

Buyer beware

Over the years I have had more negative customer service experiences than positive. FedEx shipping services are horrible and when contacting goodwill middle Tennessee they have zero clue how to handle issues and then are beyond rude and unhelpful in resolving the matter. Western CT Goodwill sells counterfeit items. Buyer beware!!!

Run and Managed By Monkeys

In the beginning I had a lot of good things to say about the Shopgoodwill site, but that was well over six years ago. Unfortunately, since then most of what I have to say is not good at all.

The website itself is never updated. It is very unpredictable at best, suddenly stalling out, slowing down, or refusing to bring up a page. This poses big problems at the end of auctions when timing can be important. I cannot tell you how many items I missed out on because suddenly the site stalled out, the item ended, and thus could not enter a bid.

Then there is the ridiculous laziness in how items are listed, presented, and information is provided. Some of the stores are pretty good with important information like measurements, decent enough photos, and fairly accurate information.

However, most often there are no measurements at all, or very cruddy attempts at tossing in a ruler, or measuring tape at an item (literally) in the photo. Which the majority of the time is meaningless.
Photos are spotty at best, with important features of many items either poorly shot, or not shown at all. Sometimes an item is packed in a cardboard box and cannot be seen at all... figure that one out.

And then there is the supplied information, which most of the time is hardly anything at all, or not at all. Usually its just a boilerplate paragraph that has nothing at all to do with the item.

Then there is the very often peculiar listings of valuable or tasty items that go up for auction but are "pick up only". Despite their being perfectly shipable. My take on this is that someone at that store wants the item, but it has to be put up on the auction site and thus figures if they make it pick up only, the chances are that no one will bid on it. Now if it were oversized, maybe I would understand. But explain to me how the same store can ship every other small lamp, or tea cup and saucer, or 8"x10" framed picture, and then randomly not for those very same items but happen to be antiques, vintage, or obviously sought after. Maybe I'm a bit too suspicious but...

But then there is this one issue that leaves me flabbergasted.

Should you need to change important shipping information in your account, say an address for instance. Don't expect it to take place immediately like every other modern site. I lost three items this way. I decided to have them shipped elsewhere When I made the changes in my account, only one I had started bidding on, the other two no. There was still five to six days left on the auctions. Yet, the shipping information was not updated instantly, in fact by the way things occurred, the shipping information didn't update for many days. And this despite taking extra precautions by sending messages to the stores informing them of the shipping location change just after changing it.

Despite that, the items were shipping to the wrong location, and I never heard or saw them again. Only one made it, and only because I chased down the FedEx driver the day it was to be delivered.
Despite contacting the stores, FedEx (which is no longer a customer oriented service anymore as of a year ago), the stores would not take responsibility for the loses. I was out a few hundred dollars on that. I pointed out to them that had it been eBay, or any other retailer online, account information changes are instantaneous. But for some reason, Goodwill doesn't seem to update their information for days.
I could list many other terrible experiences I've had with this site the past three years, but I think this is enough.
