The place is perfect, easy access, clean, very secured, I would recommend.

Never authorize direct payments. My stuff stayed there for 4 months, but they took out 5 months of payment, not cool. Also, the staff was not so nice (experience in Unterföhring), but somewhat helpful.

The process is very seemless and the rooms are very well matained, secure and easy to access without support from the staff.

Great services overall, just finding the location and entrance was a bit difficult

Update: Shurgard has offered me to partially pay for the move. I have considered the move and went to check if I can do that, but unfortunately the boxes have not dried out, humidity is 70% and the move will create additional damage.

I have been using three storage units at Shurgard Munchen Unterforring on U2 level.

Severe damage has been caused to my belongings by wetness and moisture, and consequently by the severe mold growth outside and inside packages, furniture, boxes, clothing and other items. Because mold travels freely between units due to ventilation and the mesh ceiling, I will be bringing fully infested belongings to my new house. For the context, I am storing a full-family house.

It also stinks. When I brought a box of my destroyed new vintage custom shoes to show to the ladies at reception, one of them asked me to close the box, because they stink! Now all my house will stink like this.

I was offered to move upstairs, but firstly, the boxes are wet and will break during the move - they have to dry out first (which is not the case yet, I was there today) and secondly, I cannot move the contents of a family house alone, but Shurgard is not offering to pay for the move, let alone it will not help anyway because the damage has already be done.

I have submitted the insurance claim to Marsh and asked Shurgard for full reimbursement of my storage costs.

So do insure your items and if you are offered a unit in the basement, beware!

PS unfortunately, trustpilot does not offer to upload pictures, so too bad you will not enjoy the mold garlands on my items (I will be uploading them on Google though).

The location is good. The booking process and access are very easy and comfortable. The unit is clean, dry and seems to be safe.

I have rented a storage unit due to the attractive price displayed when signing the contract. However, this attractive price is akin to 'switch and bait' since Shurgard increased prices by more than 50% at least once a year. Additionally, the contract states a 15-day notice period, which they apply to the usage of the storage unit but not the its billing. Therefore, you can expect 45-day notice period when it comes to payment.
