Multiple rentals in multiple locations...
Have rented many times with SBC over past 10 years, and for Italy they are a solid average operator. Including language barriers (i speak a bit of italian) and the typical almost helpful italian work ethic, car pickups are reasonably smooth. I always rent a small vehicle (not the smallest) but one must consider narrow roads, small parking spaces, and ease of maneuvers. Cars are generally late model and clean-ish. Returns are very easy, so long as fuel is full and no significant damage to rental. Overall, a solid recommend for SBC

The car was ok
The car was ok, however it had over 56k on the clock was showing service overdue by 5.6k.
The fuel gauge was sticking at 7/8 full, when I collected it.
I refuelled to full at the airport on return, and still stuck at 7/8.
The return check the guy was saying not full, I said it was so disconnected the battery, ok

On Brindisi Airport rented a car for 8…
On Brindisi Airport rented a car for 8 days. On the third day I had a warning for oil change. Called hot line, asked what to do. They told me to go to any garage and have it changed. Went to a garage, asked for the offer, sent it to Sicily by car. Got clearance next morning and said that they reimburse me on airport office. Did so. Everything went fine. After returning the car, they did not reimburse me. Told me I got scammed by the garage. No reimbursement although I showed them the offer in the mail that I sent them, photos of the scree with the warnings (there was another one saying that washer unit had no water. Seemed to me that the car was not serviced bevor giving it to me). Did an oil change for the company for free. Lost hours in waiting and 130 EUR.No fun. I have no nerve to search for legal assistance and not time for that. Just wanted to let you know.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify the terms regarding the reimbursement you requested, as there appears to be a misunderstanding between "engine oil top-up" and "full vehicle service."
As specified in our Terms and Conditions:
"Any expenses for engine oil will be reimbursed upon delivery of a regular receipt made out to Sicily by Car S.p.A [...]. No other types of expenses will be reimbursed without prior authorisation from our desk staff."
While we regret the inconvenience caused by the onboard warning, we cannot reimburse expenses for unauthorized full services that go beyond a simple oil top-up and do not follow the mandatory administrative procedures.

Pisa airport – Sicily by Car were excellent
Staff at Pisa desk were welcoming and efficient. At drop-off, the rep (French) was also fine – courteous, gave immediate attention and he too was efficient. Car (Opel Corsa): frugal, comfy, clean. Visibility not great (important when parking in unfamiliar places) but altogether a positive experience and good value for money.

What a disgrace
What a disgrace. We were unable to take possession of the car on 12/04, even though we showed up on that day (not even late for the scheduled time). We still paid, but we have never been refunded.
As a result, we had to rent another vehicle from a different company on the spot. Our lawyer is currently taking the necessary steps regarding this matter.
This feels like a scam. I strongly advise against this agency, especially given the many other rental companies available around the airport area. Avoid at all costs.
