Professional, thorough and reliable

I would highly recommend Sickholiday! Not only are they professional but they also guide you through this process in a friendly and helpful manner. I would also like to praise their attention to detail when taking down all my details regarding the matter on hand. I was given all the information so I could make an informed decision.
The end result can take a while but as it is a legal process that is completely understandable.
Once again, thank you for your continued effort.

2 years on and 0 progress.

2 years on and still sending emails back and forth to be told that my claim was not up to satisfaction as not enough evidence even after they received all my documents from cancun hospital AND my gp documents from the UK when I was back. Waited for a phone call from a Dr... heard nothing then received an email saying ‘in the provisional report it states that you believe there were no obvious hygiene issues within the hotel and that your boyfriend did not become unwell. What makes you convinced that it was the hotel if that was the case?’
For 1 that to me is actually really sarcastic for a member of staff to say this !! Secondly just because my ‘boyfriend’ wasn’t ill that affects my claim? This is irrelevant to my claim! Also you can stay in a 5* hotel and that does not mean there are no germs or bacteria as it can not be seen to the human eye ! I am very frustrated to say the least. It seems like they are making it all up ? Be very careful when choosing this company and if you do just be aware you will be waiting ages. Also to tell me at this stage after 2 years that it’s not up to satisfaction. I have proof that TUI have also accepted my claim and A LOT of documents. Absolute waste of my time.

Hi Sophia,

We're very sorry to hear of your experience. It is very uncommon for a case to be rejected so far into the process. If you could please e-mail office@sickholiday.com with your full name we will contact your solicitor this week to investigate.

Kind regards,

The Sickholiday Team

Highly recommended

Excellent customer service from all the team. Very responsive to emails and phone calls and really professional throughout the whole process. The procedure was explained to me from the beginning, I was informed that this might take several months and they have been really helpful with any issues. Would definitely recommend!

Slow, but happy with the outcome

All in all i'm happy with the service and overall outcome of my claim. I thought the initial service was fairly fast and prompt, the claim process did however seem to drag on but i was assured by my Solicitor this was normal. Took about 2 years from when i made my initial enquiry to receiving my pay out but very much worth it considering how ill i was in the Dominican!

At long last my case has settled!

It took just over 2 years to get a settlement via Sickholiday.com, i must admit the process was a bit more complicated than anticipated.

The solicitors that work with Sickholiday.com, we really good kept me updated throughout the process. I think that the claim took longer than anticipated mainly due to the fact that lots of bogus claims were submitted to the tour operators (not via Sickholiday.com), therefore genuine claims have taken much longer to process.

After the solicitor took their 25% cut i ended up with £2,350.

Avoid

Avoid, go to a main stream lawyer like Gordon and Slater etc. These people use bottom of the barrel incompetent solicitors . Took 3 years for a 1/3 of my original claim.
If you complain they just forward to your solicitor they are just brokers and bad ones.

Absolute joke company

Absolute joke! 2 years on an still waiting to be payed out! I got told by solicitors that they don’t pay out no more for holiday sickness claims, so why do companies like ‘sick holidays’ still advertise? Don’t waste your time!

Dear Joshua,

Thank you for contacting us and relaying your experience.

Once a client goes through a report with us about their holiday illness, Sickholiday.com allocates the case to a solicitor firm. After that, the allocated solicitor firm acts on the claimant’s behalf, deals with the legal process and responsible for the legal process.

It seems like there has been a slight miscommunication. It isn’t true that holiday illness claims are not getting settled or claimants are not being paid. However, it is true that holiday claims are taking longer to settle. The delays are mainly arising from unregulated and regulated companies who encourage the general public into making fraudulent claims. Due to this claim management companies, solicitor firms and the tour operator are performing increased level of checks to ensure claims are not fraudulent.

We will be contacting you today to put you in touch with your allocated solicitor firm who will be happy to discuss the following grievance further.

Kind regards,

Absolute joke of a company took all our details all our proofs spent hours on the phone when initially making the claim, then once passed over to the solicitors the only thing you ever hear from them is that your case has been passed to a different handler almost 2 years now since putting my claim in and still I am no clearer as to what’s happening, I’ve just rang to be told the 6th solicitor my case has been passed to is now on maternity leave so yet again I assume I’ll be getting someone new to tell me they’ll review my file and be in touch, but never do they ever get in touch

2 years on.....

2 years on! Used this company after becoming ill and having food poisoning for around 3 weeks from punta Cana! Basically AVOID as we gave them around 10 pieces of paperwork from the hospital stating food poisoning and all our observations showing how ill we was, and even placed on a drip. After sending everything to them and numerous calls going over the same thing even speaking with environmental health this is how serious our case was. Then recently had a letter saying the other party is taking the case to court and we need to pay 400 for this and if we lose then we lose our 400, also stated if we didn’t pay this wouldn’t be take to court. Received a letter saying we didn’t provide enough evidence and they have closed the files, despite our hospital records showing everything. We was told we didn’t contact them back when we heard nothing but 1 email In February and we told them several times that we both work very long hours so I sent a email back giving my mobile number and when they could call, no phone call. Absolute waste of time when first spoke to them they were so confident they would win this for us! They clearly cannot beat big company’s so just don’t waste your time or effort they are absolutely useless! Couldn’t of had anymore information stating the obvious if we tried!

Don't bother

Don't bother. They pick & choose the cases they will take on depending on whether they are likely to win. They have no interest in helping you.
Took ages to log the case over the phone only to be told a few days later there wasn't a good enough chance of them winning.
The issue - I ate a sandwich outside the hotel 4 days prior to being hospitalised with food poisoning!!

Good afternoon Laura,

We are sorry to know about your disappointment. Sickholiday.com and the solicitor firms we work with will always endeavour to help eligible claimants.

All claimants are informed during the telephone conversation that solicitors review the information on the report. They then decide whether the claim is viable to undertake and therefore issue legal proceedings.

We highly appreciate your time on the phone and cooperation in narrating all the information vital to this process. The report process can take time due to the attention to detail this process requires.

To enable us to help you further, please e-mail office@sickholiday.com or alternatively give us a call on 01625 253020. We will be more than happy to discuss the following grievance further and help you accordingly.
