This stupid thing is useless

This stupid thing is useless. I can’t even get it paired to my phone. And even if it is paired you can’t go out of range of your phone. So why do you need it? I can call on my phone if I need help.

I fell down and it did nothing. A friend saw me and helped me get up or I would have laid there for days.

Waste of money. Tried to return it and it’s even more complicated to return it. I go the trash it goes

True Customer Service

True Customer Service! Within 2 minutes of placing the call I was talking to a Human Being, Sharan! I was having problems installing the Silent Beacon App, my fault, Sharan was very patient with me in solving the problem and even answered other questions I had. Purchasing a device, such as Silent Beacon, means your life has enough aggravation. It is so nice to have a good Customer Service experience, and the Silent Beacon device works perfectly.

Customer help

My wife and I both tried setting this call alert device up, but found it too difficult to succeed. I called to get info to send it back, but Sharon, the tech person was super patience, knowledgeable! She just was great. And I took up a lot of time. So Silent Beacon is committed to real person help. I will only know if the device does what it claims if my wife needs to push the button. We kept the device because of Sharon.

Update from a 2021 purchase.

In 2021, I did not have the best of experiences with Silent Beacon; however, I was recently contacted by the CEO himself to make the situation right. I am impressed by the company's desire to do right. I received a replacement and I am beyond delighted in the product. You can clip the item to clothing or you can wear it on the band like a watch. Thank you, Silent Beacon, for helping me believe in the product and the service that you provide.

Inexpensive but difficult to operate

This device is inexpensive compared to other options, but it is difficult to operate if you don't have strong fingers, which many older people and people needing physical assistance lack. You must have a cell phone with you at all times, which defeats the purpose (I could just call 911, right?), and I need to continually recharge the battery. The company did send me a new device after confirming that the first one sent to me was not functioning properly. They could improve the website by explaining what all the different colors mean. I had a difficult time to connect the second one because of the difficulty in operating the buttons and understanding the different colors and sounds the device was making. I don't have full confidence in the device.

Buyer beware

24 hours to charge battery, completely dead in 3 days while on standby. Told that is normal. Lol. 1out of 4 days needed for charging. Constantly drops connection. Lots of better options with better warranty, 90 day returns and no restock fee. Scam rip-off buyer beware.

Charging and Battery Life: Our Silent Beacon 1.0 requires up to 2 hours for a full charge and can remain on standby for 7 days. Our 2.0 device has an extended standby time of over 42 days, and with periodic use of the on/off feature, it can last up to 5 months on standby.
Warranty and Returns: We offer a 1-year warranty, which is an extension beyond the 90-day period commonly provided by others. A restocking fee is infrequently applied, primarily in cases where a returned beacon is in poor condition, missing accessories, or has been registered (serialized) to a phone. Serializing the Beacon enhances security by preventing others from unauthorized use or connection.
Connection Issues: If you are experiencing frequent disconnections, please reach out to our customer service team. We are committed to resolving such issues and would consider upgrading your Beacon to the 2.0 version if it helps rectify the problem.

SHODDY SUPPORT FROM SILENT BEACON

I bought this device for my wife from Amazon. For the first week or two it worked then it gave up the ghost, i.e. the battery would not charge. I contacted Silent Beacon direct by e-mail and their response said: "That’s very odd. Sometimes we wonder the condition our units face at the amazon warehouses..." Pushing the blame on to Amazon?? They also said I should put the device aside for a week to let the battery run down. I told them that my wife could not wait a week because she is an invalid.

I ordered a replacement device from Amazon but could not set it up. The Silent Beacon web site kept telling me that it was already set up. I tried several times, even uninstalling and then reinstalling their app a couple of times, but to no avail. Eventually I got a message saying that "Verification failed. We have blocked all requests from this device due to unusual activity."

On 20 November 2020 I e-mailed the company telling them about my problems and asked for their help. I even asked them to delete my information from their database so that I could register the new device. Since then I have e-mailed them twice more but after four days they have still not had the decency to answer me. On 21 November I telephoned their help desk. I was on hold for 62 minutes!!! before a recording asked me to leave a message. I did, leaving my telephone number and telling them about my problem. This morning 24 November I telephoned their help desk again. I was on hold for a further 62 minutes!!! before I got their recorded message again. I left my telephone number and a short message about my problem. Over four hours later and I am still waiting for a reply. I also sent off another e-mail on 23 November and to date they have still not responded.

What surprises me is that when I sent my initial e-mail about the battery not charging they replied within an hour. This happened on more than one occasion. But it is now a week and to date I am still waiting for a response from them about my problem. It seems to me that Silent Beacon's Support is pretty abysmal.

We bought this for our office since I…

We bought this for our office since I am a psychiatric doctor and sometimes the patients can get physical. We are also on a main road and you never know who can just walk in. This panic button works flawlessly and I can clip it to the back of my ID so no one knows I have it. I have it set to call 911 and will text my coworkers my location if anything happens. The peace of mind that it brings to me and my family is worth the purchase alone. My only gripe is that only one person can connect to the button at a time. Ill eventually purchase one for all the staff but a few at the front desk will due for now.

Fastest security device scam

Fastest security device? No, Fastest scam. If there was a ZERO rating I’d use it. The instruction booklet is poorly written, vague, and little use. Right from the start had difficulty linking the device to my cell phone. Called for tech service and the young lady had no clue what to do. She was actually reading from the vague, useless instruction booklet. Sounded confused as if she had never used or trained on the device. She said she would have to have someone with more experience contact us either by phone or email. She was ready to end the call but never took our cell phone number or email. No one ever got back to us. Finally got the device linked, but not the way the instructions said. When linked the device eats up battery power. Due to the poor instructions we misunderstood how to unlink the device from the cell phone. We called tech service again and the second young lady was also devoid of knowledge about the device. Again we were told someone would contact us. No cell or email contact information was asked for. She was ready to hang up without the information. Finally figured things out. We added the two contact names as our free plan allowed. However, later, we had to delete and change one contact. We attempted to add back a second contact and a message popped up saying we were only allowed two contacts by our plan. The pop-up stated we could only add a contact now if we joined their monthly plan for $1.99/month. We only have one contact name in the system. We decided to return the device. Called tech service to find out how to return it. We were told we would have to email a request for a form. The email address (repeated several times) was bogus. They never replied with a form. We googled a site, managed to get the form else where. The instructions stated to fax the request form in to the company. There was no fax to receive the form. We scanned the form and sent it by email. Doubt we will ever hear from them. Save your money and avoid the aggravation.

We are sorry to hear the 36 page instruction booklet, online videos at our Youtube page and online manual were not easy to understand. We updated to a 2.0 panic button that has much easier to understand directions, clearer graphics and various how-to videos, online guides that now have table of contents and AI search functions.

In 2019 there were 7 free contacts allowed per account. At no point did you have to pay 1.99. That was for people who did not have our physical safety devices (app only).

We do not have a fax machine, so I am not sure if that was the right place to go for information on returns and apologize if this was told to you.

We would like to send you a replacement product for free to make up for any prior issues you may have had. Please reach out directly to us on our website with any comments, questions or concerns.
