Repeat customer
As a repeat customer, another 5 🌟 experience from Eleanor. Updating the portal before we went with new information for her to incorporate into our pets routines. All was followed perfectly. Eleanor also passed on quickly information when one of my old lady cats was ill, and checked I was happy with her approach. On return the house was spotless! The pets were happy and relaxed. Thank you Eleanor.

Our cat was in good hands, and Eleanor was great and took care of our cat.

Excellent pet sitting service
We had a brilliant time away knowing our dog was being well looked after by Eleanor. We always arrive home to a very calm and relaxed dog. We wouldn’t trust anyone else to be in our house and look after our pet.

Mother
Mother, Baby and Teddy doing just fine
Eleanor had previously looked after my dogs for me but in this occasion I needed to call on her expertise for a different reason.
My daughter , owner of 2 dogs, Teddy and Cody, was expecting her first baby in October.
Teddy is notoriously bad with children and Kathryn was, understandably, getting quite worked up about how he would react towards the arrival of the baby.
It was Kathryn who decided we should approach Eleanor to ask for advice and guidance on who to prepare Ted for the arrival of baby.
The advice was plentiful, considered and practical- the first of which was that Kathryn ( and David) needed to take a positive attitude and approach to Teddy and his behaviours and not project a self ful prophecy on to him. Yes- I know! Easier said than done! But Eleanor talked them through how to ally their worries and fears and how Teddy would already be aware of the changes going on in Kathryn’s body.
Practical advice included starting to introduce baby things around- not necessarily that baby would act use but things like 2nd hand clothes/ blankets etc, leaving them where he could sniff them etc. To start getting the big equipment and putting it in situ so that he got used to ‘ things’ appearing. To play baby noises to him, gradually making them louder etc, And the game changer was to get a baby Annabel doll and interact with her as if she were a real baby.
All the advice was acted upon by all of us and ‘we’ progressed through the pregnancy keeping on with all the strategies throughout.
Fast forward to Oct 12th and the safe arrival of Lola Emelia Rose. Kathryn and Lola were in hospital for 2 nights after the birth so, both evenings, David brought home a blanket that Lola had been wrapped in which we introduced to Teddy. The first one he would approach it, nudge it with his nose then run away from it. Repeat!
The second one , David brought it home and we just laid it on a chair and let Teddy approach in his own time, which he did and eventually curled up on it and went to sleep.
The next day Lola came home and Kathryn and David put in the plan they had worked out with Eleanor. Kathryn came in on her own and fussed the dogs. Teddy behaved towards her like he had the first blanket but you could see he was pleased to see her. David brought Lola in and they all sat down around the car seat and let Teddy approach Lola’s feet and sniff them. Lola had ‘bought’ him a toy which was laid across her legs, which he promptly claimed and went off happily playing with his toy!
He got a little bit stressed when Kathryn lifted Lola from the car seat and started barking. We all reassured him that we were not hurting baby and he gradually went back to his toy. Every time some new picked Lola up he barked at us and sort of circled our legs and we just reassured him no one was hurting her and she was ok and so was he. Now, when someone new holds Lola he looks to Kathryn almost as if to ask is it ok they have got her and then he settles down.
When Kathryn is feeding Lola or just cuddling her Ted will go and sit with them on the same settee, when they have her on her mat on the floor he will go and sniff her feet and then fog and get a toy to with near her. He is accepting her. He may never like children but he knows Lola is not children. She is his family.
Obviously, from the get go, Eleanor has stressed that you never leave any dog alone with a child and Kathryn, who was brought up with dogs has had that drummed in to her all her life but what they ( Kathryn, David and of course Eleanor) have achieved with Teddy is amazing and Kathryn and David, from being so worried that they may have to send Teddy to live with me, are now a confident baby loving, dog loving family. Eleanor has given them this confidence.
( As for for Cody, I hear you say - Cody was never going to be an issue! He is the gentlest, sweetest , most loving dog ever. But of course even he will never be left alone with Lola!

Gold standard pet sitters
I honestly can't rate Sitter4pets highly enough. My elderly little cat Scotty is pretty creaky now and, with a couple of health complaints, he needs medication three times a day, plus a good deal of comfort, reassurance and TLC. Eleanor not only provides him with the best of care while we're away, she also gives us the peace of mind we need to enjoy our break and not worry about him. On this visit Eleanor was also able to use her vast experience in pet care to give us advice about how to keep him a bit more settled at night and helped us think through the pros and cons of recently suggested treatment options. I think she looks after us owners almost as much as she does our pets! Thank you Eleanor!! x

Energetic springerdor kept happy…
I used Sitter4Pets to look after Bramble while I was away. Bramble is a very energetic 3 year old springerdor who can be a bit nervy around new people.
She loved every minute of her holiday at home while we were away for the week. She was exercised plenty and had lots of games played as well as her favourite part - dinner and treats 😉
Lots of updates were sent through to show her meals, walks, bins out and plants watered etc so I didn’t have to think about anything at home and could focus on my trip.
