The watercolour courses offered on the Skillshare website are plentiful, interesting and fun. The amount of pleasure and entertainment I receive from the very reasonable subscription is more than worth it.

I had the annual subscription come out of my bank account, I emailed to ask for a refund aa I thought I had cancelled this and was within my 14-day window to get a refund. The first response I got back was telling me that this was not possible, however their website stats I am able to. Upon telling them this, they then changed their mind and tried to off me 50% of my refund and another full year! When searching online, I saw lots of other people who experience the same issue.

Purchased seats for a full creative team and paid annually. It autorenewed for a second year and it is not possible to reduce or cancel seats online.
Looking ahead to the next renewal, I contacted the "sales representative" even though no sales representatative was ever used for signup and got no response. Then emailed the HelpDesk and received an automated response that they are experiencing high volume of messages.
With so many options for skills development, I'd recommend ANY option over SkillShare.
RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY:
There is no Cancel button to click on the Membership & Payments page. Further proving this system is deeply flawed and feels very shady. Even your own instructions to cancel are incorrect. How am I supposed to click a Cancel button that doesn't exist?

Loved the first lesson I took. It was a wonderful experience, I felt just like it was a one on one.

I had a very frustrating experience with Skillshare and would not recommend them. This company seems to benefit from customers who do not actually intend to stay subscribed. I was under the impression that I had canceled my membership years ago, only to later discover I was charged for an annual renewal.
After looking into it, I found many similar experiences from other customers who also believed they had canceled, only to be unexpectedly charged later. That raises serious concerns about how their subscription and cancellation process is handled.
Their customer service was no help at all. I received repeated, copy-paste responses quoting policy, with no willingness to actually review my situation or escalate my request. Any legitimate business would issue a refund when a customer reaches out within hours of a charge and has not used the service at all—but Skillshare refused and only offered store credit.
What was especially concerning is that they would not provide me with my own account history or documentation, claiming “security reasons.” As a customer, I should be able to access information about my own account.
Overall, this felt like a very unfair and disappointing experience. I would strongly caution others not to use this service at all.

Very poor customer service. If they dont like what you are asking of them, they simply stop replying. Its horrible. This is why SkillShare isnt doing well at all. If they dont up their game, they will not last long. Back to Udemy i guess.

DON’T sign up for a free trial without reading the very fine print!
If you aren’t careful you will be charged for an entire year’s subscription and if you don’t see it on your credit card bill in time, they won’t do anything about it. Except try to tell you that it’s your own fault.
Very unhelpful, unsympathetic customer service.
It’s a messed up system to make money.
A very sneaky tactic.
I am super vigilant about free trials, I always put them in my calendar and cancel days before.
I didn’t realize that I was being subscribed fully and receiving no notifications that it happened.
Don’t used the free trial unless you are very careful to unsubscribe in time!

They took a payment for a years subscription without my knowledge and then stopped replying to my emails querying this. Poor customer service!

I was looking for a beginners course in plasticity and found a good course. The instructor was interesting and engaging. I like his approach and the course structure. Looking for more classes this summer.

I love Skillshare as a part of my personal artistic university! It’s a great value if you do not want to purchase other classes or collaborations from independent artists (I do anyway). Still a great value!

I found the play back to be glitchy. Unable to play videos. The bottom tool bar kept flickering. Other than that it has been enjoyable and educational.

I'm only a couple of weeks into the free trial but the classes I've viewed so far seem very good with lots of resources included. Compaired to an in person class it is very good value.

Skillshare is one of my favorite subscriptions services. Just about anything artsy I want to learn, there is a class. I’ve been using it for years and it never gets old.

The response was prompt an it was very satisfying.
