AVOID! I got scammed of £140 and they’ve ignored since.

I don’t usually write reviews (this is possibly my 4th or 5th in the years I’ve been on here) but I feel like I have to inform the public as to what a total scam this is.

All began on 19th December last week when I purchased 3x gift cards on Skine. I used DaoPay and my phone bill was £140.

I never received any confirmation email either (still to this day nothing).

I contacted them and got a response at first with check email etc etc.

Then, after the £140 had been taken, Skine went totally silent. I sent 8 emails over the course of the past week asking for either my £140 back because I had not received the items and I had all DaoPay and Skine screenshots to probe it was paid.

After 3 days and numerous emails by me sent to them (total silence never replied) one random reply came telling me to “try again” with the purchase. I said no because then I’d have another £140 taken from me (so £280 in total would have been stolen) and so thankfully I didn’t.

They have ignored all correspondence since and because of this I’ve reported it to the Financial Service Ombudsman for fraud.

I URGE everyone to avoid or you’ll end up scammed out of money like I have been. If it was a small sum like £10 I wouldn’t bother. But because of the sheer scale of fraud and then radio silence I felt compelled to warn others.

Tldr: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Dear Matthew,

We are very sorry for the experience you have described - and fully understand how frustrating this must feel.

To clarify the situation clearly and transparently:

First, your payments via DaoPay were never completed and have remained in a pending status. Understandably, the order was never completed.

Then, we asked you to complete a KYC (identity) verification, and because this verification was not successfully completed, your orders could not be finalized and therefore remained pending.

If you would like, our team will be happy to review your case again and help you move forward with a solution. As I already see, your verification was accepted and your orders were successfully delivered to you.

If you still think there are discrepancies, please write to us at support@skine.com and we will go from there.

SCAM!

SCAM!!

They block your purchases after you pay, asking for identification documents but then don’t reply once you provide.
They likely use your documents for purposes of identity fraud and keep your purchases for money laundering.

AVOID!!! They stole hundreds of pounds from me

Dear customer,

First of all, we are sorry to hear about your experience and regret if you felt wronged in any way.

In order to protect our customers and to help prevent fraud, we kindly ask customers to verify their identity through KYC in rare instances. This is done in an incredibly secure way - as we utilise a licensed verification software ShuftiPro, which we also asked you to do.

While these extra security safeguards might seem harsh, they are important for protecting our customers and AML compliance. Failure to do so will result in getting flagged by the system automatically.

We genuinely value your feedback and would be happy to look into your concern further if you reach out to our support team directly.

Expensive

Expensive, but it works, and that's already great because there are not many alternatives to spend cryptocurrency.

Thank you very much for the kind words - greatly appreciate it!

Rewarble products are slightly on the higher side - because they are not traditional gift cards, but a payment facilitating product; where costs are incurred on our side to provide a Virtual card or top up for our customers. And that remains the same on all gift card shops.

Nevertheless, many thanks for your feedback and hope you continue to enjoy our service.

Jayne, we are sorry to hear about your experience.

It appears your payment was voided - which means your payment was cancelled before it was fully processed. While it may appear that the funds were taken from your card, no actual charge was completed.

If you still have concerns, I kindly invite you to write to our support team and they'll promptly review your case.

Utilizes bad business practices.

The system worked well on the first purchase.

A KYC control appeared on the second, using a non-serious KYC company, "Shufti Pro". When the KYC process starts, you are asked to hand over documents, and later in the process, they try to advance the KYC to biometrics.

Just change the company to do business with; this is not a serious company due to the malpractices of "Shufti Pro".

Clarification:
A. It is considered bad business practice to first ask for a document and in the next stage, biometrics. This is the first course at the University level and is good manners.

B. Shufti Pro has a bad registry with the AIs describing its origin. It is simply trying to hide who it is by pretending it is everyone, which is a sign of non-trustworthiness.

C. Promises from entities of the (B.) character shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone.

D. The word Shufti is an Arabic word used by herders engaged in cattle theft and countering cattle theft. It means scouting the enemies territory or your own territory to prevent the enemy from acting. It is robbers or burglars slang.

Perhaps Skine/Rewarble understands this better now?

Total Scam

I bought a gift card and the "confirmation e-mail" never got sent to me! Submitting a ticket to their support team also requires a "confirmation e-mail". I've tried 3 different e-mails and none of them received it.
