they scammed my knife on cs2 and…

they scammed my knife on cs2 and claimed API scam to cover it up and will not refund the knife or make the situation right. i chose a knife on there site that i wanted to trade for, clicked there trade button and instantly got a trade offer sent to me from a steam account with there bot name, me being excited i accidentally clicked the decline button on the trade offer and my knife was still auto sent to them, they knowingly knew i made this mistake and instantly claimed API scam and changed the bot accounts name and scammed my knife.

Hello, you did not provide a reference number for your order, but we were able to locate your account and the conversation with our support agent based on the problem you described. According to your conversation with our agent, we informed you that you have fallen victim to an API scam. You have entered your login and password to a Steam account on a fake website sometime before and they have created an API Key to view your trade offers. You had a scammer logged into your Steam account all this time. You accepted an offer on our site, but the hacker on your account declined it. Then the scammer sent their own offer.

We are aware of the API scams so we always display the whole information about the bot, which you should trade with, and ask you to double-check if it is correct on Steam. Additionally, when the trade offer from us is canceled, a pop-up on our site will appear and inform you about it. We tried our best to let you know something is wrong by various pop-ups and instructions:

Our bots are fully automated, and none have direct access to the accounts, so it is impossible for the name of the bot to change. Additionally, no trades on Steam can be auto-accepted as they all require a confirmation on your Steam Guard. Only you can accept trades on Steam and send items to a different user. In this case, you sent your knife to a scammer as you ignored all of our security warnings.

You fell victim to the scam in March last year and had a lengthy conversation with us about it. We choose not to make the conversation public as the language and threats you send to our employees are simply horrific. We understand that losing your item can be devastating; however, that does not excuse the language you used.

We sincerely hope that this response clears all questions you might have. We recommend securing your Steam account to prevent such a situation in the future. You can check our suggestions here: https://skinsmonkey.com/help/category/security
