Family weekend

Went for a family weekend, very dissatisfied with position of a caravan for elderly parent with mobility issues furthest away from all amenities & crockery in top cupboard were they couldn’t reach. Facilities on touring park were ready for updating & in need of good clean. Site was not prepared for amount of people on there for bank holiday weekend. Will not be visiting again.

Very disappointed family …

I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at this caravan site that I feel compelled to share. Upon arriving, we were provided with passes before the official check-in time of 4 PM, which initially seemed like a positive start. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when we were informed that there was no available accommodation on the entire site and that my booking had been double booked.

Despite being at the site for three hours with my young children, we received zero communication from staff or management. It wasn’t until I approached the reception desk at the designated check-in time that I was told, “Sorry, you will have to sort it out yourself.” This lack of support was incredibly upsetting and left us feeling abandoned during what should have been a fun family getaway.

To make matters worse, we had to scramble to find a last-minute hotel for the night, resulting in additional expenses. We also had to dispose of all the fresh food we had bought for our weekend stay. The entire situation was not only frustrating but also left us out of pocket without any form of apology or follow-up from the site.

Overall, the management's handling of the situation was unprofessional and clearly demonstrated an inability to manage capacity during busy periods like bank holidays. I would not recommend this caravan site to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable experience.

I’m going to be the first to write a…

I’m going to be the first to write a positive review, as I feel most of these reviews aren’t a fair reflection of the park as a whole, and are all from the touring side, we are static owners and was looking for a new park, we have just been down all weekend at Skirlington, and the new facilities are spot on, the wonky donkey is a great spot, food is good, carvery looked bang on, bar staff are happy and like to have a chat with you, toilets clean, saw one singer on a Monday night and he was actually good for a Monday night, they’re trying to make this place great, and yes a few of the long time owners have left disgruntled due to an increase in site fees and I get that as they won’t use the new facilities, but what they are building is going to be amazing when it’s all done facilities wise and that far outweighs an initial jump in prices in my opinion. Aslong as they don’t get greedy and keep maintaining the park to the highest standards they will succeed, as that’s why I’m now leaving my current park to move onto Skirlington. I’ve been on several parks over the years and very impressed with this one. Big shout out to the guys in the sales office, they were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us, and we wasn’t even buying one of their caravans we were moving one on. Cheers. The Platts family

Never Again!

Stayed on this site many times over the last 10 years always enjoyed it, Felt like home from home.
August 2025 was our first visit since it’s been took over and will definitely be the last!
The shower and toilet blocks absolutely stunk they are vile!
The smell got worse over the duration of our stay as all drainage was blocked it lingered all over the touring site.
The rubbish bins on touring site was not emptied frequently enough they were all over filled resulting to rubbish allover the road.
The Elsan waste point was foul!
Water point capped off so nothing to clean spillages rinse cassette it’s not hygienic at all!
Grass pitches are not cut and maintained like they were in previous years of visiting.
Swimming baths smelt of strong urine.
The Entertainment bar WONKY DONKEY has had a much needed revamp, Food menu was very limited and not very cracking either.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your recent stay did not meet the standards you had come to expect over the years. Please accept our sincere apologies for the late response — we were unaware that a Trustpilot page had been set up in our name, but we have now taken full ownership and will be monitoring it closely. Feedback like yours is vital in helping us improve.
We are very concerned by the issues you’ve described regarding the shower and toilet blocks, the Elsan point, rubbish collection, water points, and pitch maintenance. As the season has progressed, many of these areas have been reviewed, and we have implemented additional maintenance schedules to ensure hygiene and cleanliness are maintained across the site. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention.

We’re pleased you noticed the revamp of the Wonky Donkey bar, though we’re sorry the menu did not meet your expectations. Your feedback has been shared with our catering team as we continue to review and improve the variety and quality of our offerings.

We completely understand that your experience fell far short of the high standards you remembered, and we are sorry for the disruption this caused. Your comments have been passed on to the relevant teams so we can continue to make improvements and ensure better conditions for all our guests.

Thank you again for sharing your experience. We value your feedback and hope to address these issues so that future visits can be more enjoyable.

Took twin axle Motorhome pitch size…

Took twin axle Motorhome pitch size really good room for awning and wind breaker. However, no access to the beach and bus only four times a day. The food was pretty average and wouldn’t recommend the steak and frozen chips. Pizzas amazing . Cocktails were very reasonable priced.
Left a day early as couldn’t stand the wasps that plagued every second of the day watched several people get stung and leave. Neighbours across from us decided to have a loud argument at midnight and one of them began packing away at midnight slamming everything as he packed. Average site one I won’t be returning to.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you found the pitch size suitable for your twin-axle motorhome and that you enjoyed our pizzas and reasonably priced cocktails.
We’re sorry to hear that several aspects of your stay didn’t meet expectations. Unfortunately, wasps can be a problem at certain times of the year, and although we do put measures in place around the park to reduce their presence, we understand how disruptive this can be. We’re sorry this impacted your stay to the point where you left early.
We also apologise for the disturbance caused by other guests during the night. We encourage all visitors to respect quiet hours, and our team is available to assist with noise issues whenever they arise.
With regard to beach access, sadly due to ongoing cliff erosion this is not something we are able to provide. The safety of our guests must come first, and the coastline in this area changes regularly, making it unsafe to create or maintain access routes.
Your feedback on the food has been shared with our kitchen team. While we are pleased you enjoyed the pizzas, we’re sorry the rest of the meal fell short.
We appreciate you sharing your experience, even though it means we didn’t get everything right for you on this occasion. We hope you may consider giving us another chance in the future as we continue to improve our facilities and guest experience.

Images not now relevant.

I note that at least 5 of the images used here are taken by myself, probably more, and all 8 to 10 years ago. They are not now relevant and the previous owner, Simon Goodwin, was given opermission to use them, not Unity. We have now left the site due to Unity taking over.

Fine, ‘nothing to write about’ (first-time visit)

First time visit to this park over the course of a week — great caravan, completely new with plastic packaging still on some of the fittings, was delighted overall with the caravan. A couple of setbacks are that there’s no WiFi in them, only place to get WiFi is in the entertainment complex, otherwise fairly good 5G across a number of networks. Another is that the mattresses are super hard and have no protectors or toppers on them, but we took that ‘under the chin’ as it was a brand new caravan.

Went to the entertainment complex, cafe, supermarket and restaurant over the course of our visit. Entertainers were smiley but came across like they didn’t really want to be there (in fact, one of them walked off the stage at the end and went straight for the door to leave), a little too much like GCSE drama performances, nothing for adults or young adults. I went to speak to one of the entertainers after their show and she was blatantly rude to me and told me to go sit down, was really shocked given she was vibrant and energetic during her show.

‘Wonky Donkey’, restaurant was okay, food was standard (nothing much to write about), the service was a little on the bad side (nobody checked on us and our meals, and they all seem to congregate around the kitchen and have banter with the chefs, none of them had beard nets).

Supermarket (Nisa Local) was great, had lots of produce available, wish there was more fresh produce instead of dried goods but can somewhat understand given it’s a small market that they are catering for. Cafe next to the supermarket was okay, again food was standard like the restaurant, nothing to write about.

Entertainment overall was pretty abysmal, way too many kids shows and kid-focused events. Would’ve liked something like an adult disco or happy hour.

The site was pretty well staffed other than the bars, literally one or two bar staff serving about 10 customers (took a good 10 minutes to get a drink, they were really slow at it as well).

Overall, a pretty average experience, giving two stars simply because there wasn’t anything that stood out to me, everything was… fine.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback about your first visit with us. Please accept our sincere apologies for the late response — we were unaware that a Trustpilot page had been set up in our name, but we have now taken ownership of it and will be fully monitoring it going forward. Feedback like yours is incredibly important as it helps us continue to grow and improve.

We are pleased to hear that you were happy with your caravan and that the newness and condition met your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the lack of WiFi in accommodation and the firmness of the mattresses. As the season has progressed, we have reviewed many guest comfort concerns, and WiFi accessibility is something we are actively looking into for future improvements.
We are disappointed to learn about your experience with the entertainment team. What you described — including a member of the team being rude to you — is not acceptable and will be followed up with our Entertainment Manager. We are also reviewing our entertainment offering to ensure it provides more balance for adults and young adults, not just children.

Thank you also for your comments regarding the Wonky Donkey restaurant. While we are glad the food was satisfactory, we apologise that the service fell short. Throughout the year, the team have been coached on the importance of table check-backs, and we will continue to reinforce this to ensure better service moving forward. We have also reminded our staff of the need for professionalism and are reinforcing hygiene standards, including the correct use of beard snoods where required.

We are pleased that you found the Nisa Local well stocked, and we appreciate your feedback regarding fresh produce — this is something we continue to assess based on guest demand. Your comments about the café and bar staffing have also been noted, and we are working to ensure better coverage at peak times to reduce waiting times.
Overall, we are sorry that your experience felt average and that nothing truly stood out for you. We genuinely value the time you took to share your thoughts, and we hope that with the improvements currently underway, we may have the opportunity to welcome you back for a far better experience.

Thank you for your feedback, and please accept our sincere apologies for the late response. We were unaware that a Trustpilot page had been set up in our name, but we have now taken full ownership of it and will be fully monitoring it going forward. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us.
Regarding the band only performing for 45 minutes, at this point we are unaware of why this happened, but we will be speaking with our Entertainment Manager to understand the situation fully. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and agree that this should not have occurred without clear communication.
We also want to acknowledge that, as an owner, you have experienced a lot of changes since Unity took over. We understand that this transition may not always feel smooth, but please be assured that our owners are increasingly important to us. Your experience and feedback play a major role in shaping the improvements we continue to make.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. If you would like to discuss this further, we would be more than happy to speak with you directly.

Truth about the site - it’s not all as it seems

2nd time at Unity Skirlington, we thought we would give it another try since the new rebranding and put our first visit down to a bad experience but the 2nd visit truly confirmed that this park whilst newly renovated at the club house the toilet blocks are a disgrace, broken toilet seats, locks missing from the doors etc etc…..

We ate in the new restaurant and purchased a number of beverages, however not enough tills and certainly not enough staff.

We ate Sunday dinner in the restaurant area to find a hair in my food, maybe this is because 80% of kitchen staff have beards but wear no beard snoods, they have hair nets on but nothing protecting hair from the beard.

I observed the restaurant manager who was mostly stood at the serving hatch joking about with the chefs, absolutely no customer engagement to see how things were, he just stood back whilst the waitress struggled on her own to deliver food, not good leadership at all!

Doubt I would return, litter strewn all over the outside venue with nobody employee to keep the area in check.

Don’t be fooled by the marketing, this site is nothing special than another kind of Park Dean style resort.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and please accept our sincere apologies for the late response. We were unaware that a Trustpilot page had been created in our name, but we have now taken full ownership of it and will be monitoring it closely moving forward. Feedback — both positive and negative — is incredibly important to us and plays a vital role in helping our business grow and improve.
We are very sorry to hear that your second visit did not meet expectations, especially after giving us another chance. This is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver.
Your comments regarding the toilet facilities are concerning, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. As the season has progressed, we have addressed many of the maintenance issues you mentioned, and we continue to monitor these areas to ensure they remain in good condition.
We also apologise for the experience you had in our restaurant, including the incident with your meal and the delays caused by staffing levels. Kitchen hygiene and customer service are priorities for us, and we have reinforced procedures with our team and made operational changes to better support staff during busy periods. Many of the concerns raised have already been dealt with and improvements implemented throughout the season.

The issue of litter on the site has also been reviewed, and additional measures have been put in place to ensure the outdoor areas are checked and maintained more frequently.

We are disappointed that your stay fell short of expectations, but we genuinely appreciate your honesty. Your feedback helps us identify where further improvements are needed, and we remain committed to delivering a better experience for all our guests.

Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention.
