Great experience with Skylark Studios! The service was fantastic — quick, professional, and genuinely friendly. Hayden was such a pleasure to deal with; he talked me through the different options and the whole process clearly, and was incredibly encouraging and enthusiastic about me starting out with film photography.

The photo scans I received were excellent quality, and he even kindly posted my negatives back to me after I forgot to collect them — which was hugely appreciated.

It’s also clear that Hayden is really passionate about photography and about supporting students and people beginning their creative journey. That kind of care and enthusiasm makes a real difference.

I was introduced to Hayden and Skylark Studios through LCE Guilford. Coming from another part of the country this is by far the best film lab I’ve ever developed with, with fast turn arounds, great communication and very high quality scan results. What in my opinion separates skylark from other labs is the fact that you can really tell there’s a deep degree of care that goes into the development and scanning process with Hayden even commenting on specific photos in correspondence. Overall I will continue to use Skylark for the reasons I stated above as well as the fact that they develop a wide range of films giving me freedom to shoot on whatever I want.

Whilst I've embraced DSLR and mobile phone photography, I wanted to get back to using a monochrome film in my 44-year old Nikon FM (stands for 'fully manual' camera. I explained the likely shooting conditions (single and multiple musicians always moving, playing in big halls and small pubs but invariably poorly lit) and Hayden advised an ISO 400 film which due to the conditions, ended up pushing it to 1,600 ISO.

The engagement with Hayden, the turnaround time and the quality of work he produced for me - along with his really informed insight - was exceptional.

I'll be using his and Skylark Studios again.
