Been with sky for over 10 years. Shocking.

Been with sky for over 10 years. Found myself out of contract and the bill went up to £213 for to and broadband.
Usual call up to get it back down went couldn’t have went any worse. Only way they said I could get it down was to upgrade the broadband which was cheaper for 6 months and then went back up. Wanted rid of the sports and kids channels because never really got used. That was fine until he said I had to call another number to actually get them removed because he wasn’t authorised.
Bill only came down to £170.
Still to much as I know others with same content was getting it for a lot less.

To be honest we don’t really need to record stuff so done my research and switching to streaming platforms only with premium subscriptions Netflix, Disney, prime, paramount, plus (I know it’s sky) but getting movies and entertainment pack on now Tv is working out far cheaper.
So much so that I can even effort YouTube premium which I do actually watch a lot of content.
However when I called to cancel, they refused to do it until I agreed to terms and conditions???
Why? So they could charge me if I never returned the equipment. Don’t mind returning them but don’t hold me to ransom because I’m not clicking agree to something you send me. Reason being, because i was out of contract the agreement I originally signed was nil and void.
After debating for half an hour I got a supervisor that lasted another half an hour. ( ye I don’t give up easily.) he read it out and acted like I agreed to it and processed it as that.
Disgusting company and I’m glad I’m done with it (except for the now Tv) and we will see if I actually use it and cancel if needed as it is month to month.
As it stands I have 31 days of sky left.
I still have the fibre which I am going to move to another company however I need to be careful with this as my partners business relies on this or I would have told them to shove that at the same time.

Liberating and freed from the shackles of the corporate sh*t stains.

Sorry for the rant but this needed to be said.

Keep scrolling.. the best you will see is a 2 star rating which I think is a sky employee. Cos even they know it’s sh*t.

Difficult to cancel Sky subscription and customer service is appalling

I have been a Sky customer for over a decade for phone, tv, and broadband. However, Sky customer service is appalling when it comes to cancelling our Sky TV. The agent will pass you from one department to another, try to sell you more packages, which will end you paying more. Their customer service seems to be in India as I have spoken to at least 8 agents for the many times I tried to cancel our Sky TV. I took hours of phone calls and wasted time.
It felt a scam rather than a customer service as it was very stressful.
Cancelling Sky TV should be straightforward and customers should
Be able to push a button on their phones in this digital era for cancellation.
Sky is making it very difficult which should be banned by UK Law to be honest.

WHAT A RIP OFF!!!

Sky is an absolutely awful company to deal with. Contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on. Subscriptions constantly increase without warning or consultation or agreement. Talking to a service advisor in India is a real task. Sky get income from Subscriptions, advertising and sponsorship. What an absolute RIP OFF!!!

SkyGlass TV: DO NOT BUY!

SkyGlass TV: absolutely awful. I cannot stress how terrible this television is. I can’t count how many times it just hadn’t turned on. Switching it off at the mains etc and resetting it with the button on the side does nothing, so you just have to hope it’ll turn on in a few hours. Fully regret buying this TV and we’ve had it for about 4 years now, absolutely terrible.

Beware of any agreements made with the Call Centre

I negotiated my new contract price after various online chats and phone calls. I made notes of my call showing exactly what had been agreed. I checked my bank after the next payment and found I had been charged £12 more than the agreed price.

After various calls with the complaints department after which they failed to review and update me they finally admitted that having listened to the phone call with the salesman, they agreed with what I had said.

However, the gentleman said he was not authorised to amend, this and nor was his manager, so it would have to be escalated to his manager's manager. Excuse my sceptism but this sounds like blatant delaying tactics.

The salesman had either made a very large mistake or done it intentionally. To compound this, despite repeated promises they had / would send me the contract they still have not done this.

Regarding the agreement. At the end of negotiations it is necessary to "sign" online the agreement but you have just a few seconds to do this and clearly are given no opportunity to read many pages - we assume it matches the conversation.

There is clearly something going very very wrong at Sky. It appears to me from various calls I had with the call centre and now confirmed by this case, that they are franking trying to trick customers, presumably because they get commission based on how much they can mislead customers into paying.

At best this is very sharp practice at worst outright dishonesty and the Complaints Department seem to be under serious question too. If this approach continues, it will ultimately destroy Sky TV which is a great shame.

Sadly I would recommend that everyone avoids Sky. NEVER EVER, agree the contract online without checking the prices very carefully. If I could give Sky no stars, I would.

This disgusting company doesn't give a damn about its customers. I tried to complain about some total rubbish called "The Burbs" they are currently streaming and promoting big time. It's a pathetic remake of the 1989 Tom Hanks movie.

As it was impossible to avoid speaking to one of their bots, I emailed their CEO, Dana Strong....and I got a robotic non-reply asking me to validate my account or something!

This has never happened before with other organisations. It's obvious that Sky doesn't give a damn about its customers.

By far the worst company I have ever dealt with! Nothing works as it should. I can’t add additional users, can’t link my Sky ID to my husband’s account, and they make it nearly impossible to cancel my Sky TV subscription. It feels deliberately obstructive.

I’m now stuck paying for services I don’t want with multiple Sky TV products sitting unused in my home. Completely unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. Avoid at all costs!

It used to be very good, but since Comcast took over the service has declined. It is extremely difficult to talk to anyone, and when you do they are in another country, they are very difficult to understand and reading from a script.

Like many reviews and not unique to sky it is incredibly painful being forced to deal with chatbots and automated systems that dont work and often dont recognise accents. Cancellations deliberately difficult. Even when you do get through they often then transfer you around and cant do simple things. Invest in getting People back!

Tried to get my broadband bill reduced and was passed on to 5 different departments. I didn't want the big sale of add ons so they just wanted me off the line. Spoke over me and very heavily accented so couldn't understand what they were saying. They just rambled on.looking for another deal elsewhere.

This company is a joke

Trying to contact someone from this company is at best a joke, there bot system is as useless as there whole company. Sometimes in life customers might need to discuss a problem with a real person, even if that employee has such a strong accent that you would need sub titles to talk to them.
Sending customers around and around a stupid automated system for hours is ridiculous.

Was sold sky's best package and it doesn't work

Was sold sky broadband, wifi, PUCs, and best package available. Had it since September. It never worked. Ive had the engineers out 5 times, still cant fix it. bough loads of kit off their design, hard wired everything in at extra cost. They miss appointment after appointment. their email system, login in portal and telephone customer care support isn't linked, so they can't see all activity, so they can't claim to be ISO9001. There's no real solution decision makers and for the privilege, you can't watch TV or use mobile devises in your home!! Do not have sky broadband, wifi, PUC or MESH and don't ring them, because when your 7 months with the above and you get annoyed at the pathetic questions they ask like, "how old is your son in law" or "what is the relevance" when you ask how many times their engineers have been out!! What a shower!!!

I set up a premium sky glass 2 package…

I set up a premium sky glass 2 package in Nov 25. The TV with built-in soundbar is great, however the operating system lacks the efficiency of sky Q. Freezing through guides / applications is a experience that happens far to often. Applications open but will not display any content or if they do load, they will not allow any movement through menus. Unfortunately this resorts to restarting the system. Not what I expected as an "upgrade".

Loyalty counts for nothing with this company

Having been with Sky for over 25 years I contacted them as I was concerned they wanted to increase my subscription to over £60.00 for just Sky TV with Netflix. After being on hold for a considerably long time an advisor listened to my concerns and was very polite and curteous (although struggled to understand me) and asked if I wanted to bring my broadband back to them! I made it clear I wasn't looking to give them any more business as they haven't valued my custom in 25 years. He then asked if I wanted Sky Glass, which I refused, and stressed I'm looking for cost savings. He finally offered a reduction of £3.00! New customers are being offered deals of less than £30.00 to include broadband! I was disgusted with their offer so asked to be transferred to Cancellations. After another long wait an advisor again wanted to 'see what he could do' then asked if I wanted to add anything else to my subscription! He finally said the best they could offer was £47.79. They clearly don't value loyalty and the whole experience trying to communicate with a call centre in India was a nightmare.
I ended the call to arrange a deal with another company, which was brilliant - and the call centre is here in the UK!!
Having finalised the new contract I went back to Sky - straight to cancellations and made it clear that I was cancelling the contract and wasn't interested in any more offers. Surprise, surprise - he asked me to give him a minute, then finally came back with an offer of £27.00!!! Needless to say, I told him it was too late and insisted he went ahead with the cancellation. That's a couple of hours of my life I won't get back, with one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with....and apparently I was a Sky VIP!

30+ years of SKYTV

30+ years of SKYTV, never missed a month, however as with lots of people (I am a pensioner), I am finding the cost of SKY TV (£98 per month), unsustainable.
Called them today to try to find a way of continuing my loyalty and they answer was to take my SKY Q box away and replace the service with SKY Stream, kind of OK with that, however to do so my costs would increase to £103 per month
Bye, bye SKY - wish I could say it has been good knowing you

Useless Customer Services

I’m currently on the phone for the sixth time to India sorting out a charging issue
I’ve currently been holding on line for 24 minutes as this Indian call minder is not listening to me
I’ve asked him to explain why there is such a delay and he hasn’t responded as yet
He has picked up the phone 3 times and said he’s checking my file, not allowing me to respond
Is this the service you think you pay for in India Sky, because it’s worse than anything I’ve ever experienced
Ajay, has been appalling and hasn’t done anything to help me
Lastly, I’ve wasted too much time already on this and other Sky issues
Get a grip and close the Indian call centres, they are ruining your brand!!!!!
