I've used Ben for two funerals this year. I can't praise him more highly. Quality of his product is excellent. He's so responsive working on drafts using PDFs till we got it spot on. All in one day. The minutest change (line spacing) he was happy to indulge. His courier company (dependable brand) messed it up and failed to deliver. He re-made another slate stone over the weekend, sent it on Monday, it arrived today, Tuesday, 200miles away, the day before the funeral. Amazing service.

Very accommodating gentleman with excellent choice of merchandise. The quality of the product we bought was first class and was made to order within three days. Would definitely recommend.

I was impressed by Ben's care in making my sign. He was very patient in taking time to understand my wishes and gave good advice. I am absolutely delighted with the end result.

My husband died three years ago and the family struggled to get organised to provide his grave with a fitting memorial. We made contact with Ben, with draft wording and layout. He came back to us with images which we tweaked slightly and, again, we had a prompt response. We said we would like certainly images and Ben had two suggestions. He sent us two possible 20x20x5 cm plaque options and we asked him to go ahead with our preference.
The slate plaque was delivered to Clandon Burial two weeks later.
We are very happy with the result.
Ben replied promptly and understood what we wanted. The finished slate looks just right. Thank you.

Ben was amazing from the get go. He was really quick at getting back to me when I asked for a quote, he was thorough when going through the options and didn’t try to over sell us anything. Ben made us feel as though we could trust his process and was very transparent when explaining when he could get the product to us - even despite how busy he was, it was still extremely quick service!
It arrived this morning and the quality of his work is amazing and exactly what we were looking for. It is a beautiful piece and we really think it’ll make the person it is intended for very happy.

From the moment I spoke to Ben I just knew it was the right place to go to for my Mum’s ash memorial slate. He was warm & friendly while I tried to explain what I had in mind for the slate. Literally within minutes he’d sent me an email with many beautiful examples of his work. Within hours Ben had done the first proof having managed to decipher the ideas I had spoken to him about. There were only a couple of extremely minor tweaks like how the date looked & reducing the size of a flower which was all done super quickly & a new proof sent. As soon as I saw it my eyes welled up & I knew it was the perfect tribute & reflective of my Mum. A couple of days later & Ben sent me a picture of the final work I’d approved ready to be sent directly to the burial site. Ben is exceptionally talented, not just with the skill he has to engrave the slate but in interpreting my words into the stunning slate. Thank you so much I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

Ben produced a beautiful engraved memorial plaque on Welsh Slate. The slate is very good quality and sturdy with the engraving painted white. Looks lovely and my dad would have been proud. I had an excellent, fast service from Ben and he sent it extremely well packaged on a next day delivery, once it was ready. Thanks very much for your thought and care that went into this plaque.

Ben was very helpful and went to a lot of trouble to meet my requirements, even though it was a one-off, small job for him. He kept in touch regarding progress and I am very pleased with the end result. I thoroughly recommend Ben and the Slate Workshop.

A wonderful service from start to finish.i enquired about the possibility of having the house name using the Greek alphabet. There was no problem at all with this request. The mock up looked perfect and the plaque was received very quickly and looks stunning.

Ben was extremely accommodating, sent a detailed rough of the design and went out of his way to produce the memorial plaque for my wife's grave to a tight deadline. The final product was tasteful and expertly engraved exactly as the person who recommended Ben said it would be.

Well pleased with the Slate house plaque I ordered. Beautiful craftsmanship. When I talked to the Slate Workshop they were very helpful and explained the options clearly.
The plaque is a lovely piece of Slate, a lot thicker than usually see.
More expensive than some but it really is a case of you get what you pay for...worth every penny!!

The memorial plaque that Ben made is absolutely outstanding. I was looking for something special to commentate how loved my fiance was, and Ben created something that lived up to this so beautifully. From start to finish Ben was extremely professional, and it is clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work, and it was important to him that the plaque was just as I wanted it.

Ben at The Slate Workshop has just produced a beautiful memorial plaque for my friends and I to mark the spot where a dear friend’s ashes have been scattered.
