Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 130 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant dissatisfaction with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to engage with, often leading to unresolved issues and misinformation. Reviewers frequently encountered problems with product quality, including mattresses sagging, deforming, or having broken components, and some even received used items or products that did not match expectations. These issues, combined with high prices and unhonored warranties, left many feeling that the company did not stand behind its offerings. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with specific staff members, who were described as patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in assisting them with their purchases.

We tried to process a warranty claim on…

We tried to process a warranty claim on a 1 year old mattress that is sagging in multiple spots...ie springs pushed in when we are not large individuals. We took pictures showed the indentations...showed the bottom. They declined the claim saying we had an improper bed spring underneath. It was THEIR BEDSPRING...and they never warned us...plus it had zero impact on the crappy mattress. I have told everyone we know to NOT buy from them...as you can see here...every excuse to not honor their warranty.

Bought a firm matress Sep 29

Bought a firm matress Sep 29, 2025 order #1561I100292 for $1422.00 It is supposed to have a 10 year warranty. 3 months later I complained in the store because the all sides of the mattress began to sag. They told me to call customer service at 1-888-753-3788. I was told to send a video, but customer service told me not to send videos but pictures instead. After I sent pictures, they sent someone to inspect the mattress. It cost me $156 plus tax. They came and took measurements and told me that if the edge sags less than 1.5 inches they cannot replace it. When you sit anytwher on the side of the matress, you sink right away. I feel they sent me cheap matress and they are thieves and they are irresponsible. They don't honor the warranty. Customer service just passess the ball and they don't care that I called six times.

Absolutely the worst customer service of any company

Absolutely the worst customer service, online ordering, and unreliable delivery service of any company I have ever bought something from. If you call them for service (like I had to do to get a refund due to a product not being delivered) they simply say it's not their department and someone will get back to me within 48 hours. I contacted them 5 separate times and they all give the same answer and simply do not call you back. Still waiting for the refund.

Best sleep in years…

About a year and a half ago, I purchased an adjustable bed for my husband in Oshawa. We were unhappy with the product, so Sleep Country Canada guided my husband and me step by step in replacing the bed. Sleep has been delightful. I just wanted to set the record straight. Thanks, sleep country

Worst customer service in the entire…

Worst customer service in the entire community market. I would stay miles away from them. No accountability whatsoever for misinformation, blaming the customer for their own mistakes and extremely rude. I can't believe I went for a company like this, as if there weren't other options. I lost $337 which I don't feel like fighting a case in court for.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience trying to claim a mattress under warranty. They don’t honour their warranty and they are incredibly rude. I should’ve read the reviews before I bought from them because everyone is saying the same thing! Do not buy from sleep country.

Don't buy

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Sleep Country.

When I purchased my mattress, I was clearly told that it came with a 10-year warranty guaranteeing that it would remain firm and not lose its shape. Unfortunately, the mattress began to sag and lose its firmness well before the 10 years.

I contacted customer service and sent photos as requested. Apparently, the pictures were “not sufficient,” so I had to pay extra to have someone from Sleep Country come to my home to take additional photos. After going through all of that, I was told my claim was denied because there was a small stain on the mattress and that it did not meet their satisfaction standards.

This feels extremely unfair. The issue was the mattress losing its shape and firmness — which is exactly what the warranty claims to protect against. Instead of standing behind their product, they looked for reasons to deny the claim.

If a company advertises a 10-year warranty, they should honor it. Otherwise, it is misleading.

I am very unhappy with how this was handled and would not recommend buying from Sleep Country. My previous mattress was from The Brick and it lasted over 10 years without issues. Based on this experience, I would rather purchase from them again.

Very disappointing experience.

My Kingsdown mattress is sagging in the…

My Kingsdown mattress is sagging in the middle and I notified the Courtenay store before a year was up. I got sent to the warranty department and submitted all the photos about three different times and it was more than the required 1 1/2". I have to roll out of it to get out of bed in the morning. I rotated the mattress like the salesman told me and he said a boxspring was fine. They denied my claim saying it wasn't adequately supported. It has a boxspring that's not sagging and completely flat so wtf. I weigh 120 lbs and live alone. My last mattress was over 20 years old and on the same setup. They said they would sell me a new one yeah right. I'm still going to try fighting them but never again will I buy from Sleep Country. My sister in law had a similar experience.

Online tracking doesn't even work

Online tracking doesn't even work. No updates on the delivery at all. Initial email states delivery in 3 days , it took almost 3 weeks, had to call them several times and landed talking to a virtual speaker who was unhelpful. Would never deal with sleep country again. Terrible service!

Customer service is definitely lacking

Customer service is definitely lacking. Placed an online order Jan 22/26 with expected delivery date Jan 24. I started getting several emails from Sleep Country asking me to review my recent order but it hasn’t even arrived yet. A week into Feb I reached out to customer service because on my account it said the items hadn’t even shipped yet. Didn’t get an answer as to what the issue was, but was told I’d get an email once they looked into it. Didn’t receive an email. This morning I reached out to customer service again and was told the item is out of stock and they don’t know when it will be back in. I requested to just cancel the order. I was told I would get a confirmation email but haven’t received anything. My online account still shows the order as active. Going to be really annoyed if I have to follow up a 3rd time for an item that was advertised as in stock on their website.

Sleep Country lost my trust - and my business - after 20 years

I have been a loyal Sleep Country customer for 20 years. My experience was always positive until this month. I am sad to write that Sleep Country is no longer the trustworthy business it once was. I strongly caution others against shopping there.

In January 2026, I purchased the same Sealy Queen-sized mattress and box spring that I had previously purchased several times from the Sleep Country Canada store, on King Street in Waterloo, Ontario. I paid for "green glove" delivery service. Previously, Sleep Country included delivery cost as part of the sale, however, they have now moved to a third-party provider and charge an additional fee for delivery. I was happy to pay it as I had no other means of collecting the mattress.

When the deliverymen arrived at my home, they were not very clean and made a mess. They tracked mud inside and left marks on walls. They also informed me that they could not move the mattress and box spring up to the second floor as these items "would not fit up my staircase." I explained to them that previous delivery teams had had no difficulty. They argued that I must have bought a different product. I walked them upstairs to show them that this was no the case. They said, "Well, we cannot see how other deliverymen got them upstairs." Ultimately, they managed to move the mattress upstairs, but they abandoned the boxspring in my living room and drove off.

When I complained to Sleep Country, Amber from customer service called me back. She offered a $100 gift card for future purchases, but said that she could not refund the delivery fee. I explained to Amber that I had paid for a service that I did not receive, and told her that I would prefer a refund. She was unwilling to do this.

After buying 4 mattresses and box springs, Sleep Country has now lost my business forever. I cannot recommend them and caution others against doing business with Sleep Country; they cannot be trusted to honour their contracts and will not make things right. BEWARE!

Terrible Kluft Bed / Buying Experience

Well I really can’t express how frustrating it is dealing with this company- sales side is fine .. speaking on the warranty. We’ve purchased thousands on bedding here / pillows etc & never had an issue to speak to warranty dept - 12k bed purchased & 2 years back ( 8 year warranty remaining) & it drops in middle & coils ( 2 ) dig into back. There’s only myself sleeping on it & im 14o lbs - I was assured this is “ top of line & nothing ever goes on with company’s products. Now, we head into store .. tell them the issues & are given their warranty dept info - SO RUDE … likening it to a collection agency .. pretty sure she hung up on me. Wow. Back to store & the 2 month runaround begins. 2 weeks ago was my last stop into the store - where I can see the people I paid the 12k for my bed & was promised a call back from a supervisor. That call never came. So maddening- I have about 10 different emails from 10 different employees saying varying differing things. Based on how WRONG this is - I will speak to my lawyer & escalate this legally - I’ve never had to sue anyone in my 55 years of life - but I’m beyond disappointed & frustrated- I will also share this experience with everyone I know , & I get to meet LOTS of people selling real estate. I can bet NONE will be shopping at Sleep Country Canada on Barnet Hy in Coq! Shame on them.

She never pressured us and we were very happy and comfortable making a purchase from her. She's a definante asset to your team and I will recommend her to anyone we know looking to purchase a mattress. Mike and Kathie Millan. Calgary.

100 night free trial is a scam!

UPDATE:I went back to the store I bought it from (Shawnessy in Calgary)with pictures and videos of the mattress. Salesman Vince and Andres saw it and said don’t worry we will take care of it. Rescheduled delivery and new mattress arrived yesterday. They were so professional and made me feel so much better. Great service! Don’t bother calling customer service they are useless. I will only go see these guys in the future.

Exchanged a mattress for my 86 year old mother. That was the easy part! When they delivered the new mattress they took about 10 minutes looking at the previous mattress in the room with no lights on. They tilted it towards the window. I told them they could put the lights on which I did. They tell me there is a problem with the 4 diamond shaped stitches across the bottom end of the mattress. Then I noticed on the threading a pale yellow. It was very hard to see. I said it looks like the memory foam underneath. The delivery guys refused to take it and told me to call customer service. I called customer service and was basically told if it was a manufacturing defect I should have reported that when we received it. I said I did go over the mattress and I didn’t see it. It’s very hard to notice. There is no defect. He said because you didn’t report it the warranty is void and he refused to do anything else. I asked to speak to someone higher up than him he said no. I am furious! There is nothing wrong with this mattress. It’s had a mattress protector on it from the day it arrived. This 100 night free trial is a scam!! I will never buy a mattress from them ever again. They are horrible.

Useless warranty on mattresses

Useless warranty on mattresses. Sleep Country only follows manufacturers specs. Purchased a mattress with a 10 year warranty. Sealy Gillam pillowtop. Rotated every 6 months. Both sides lost edge support. Feel like I'm rolling off edge when I sleep. Can see depressions on both sides of at least an inch when not on mattress. But because wasn't 1 1/2" fully, denied warranty claim. Sorry don't weigh 300 lbs. to make deeper impressions. I'm sure the CEO doesn't have to worry about cost of replacement of a mattress every 6 years. Will never purchase anything from Sleep Country again. You're better off buying an Endy or Douglas mattress of similar cost but with 15 year warranty!

poor customer service

We purchased a mattress online from Sleep Country and found it far too firm and uncomfortable to sleep on. Unfortunately, trying to exchange it has been a nightmare. Despite advertising that you can exchange the mattress if you’re not happy, we were later told we must:

Pay a restocking fee
Pay a delivery fee
Pay the price difference, even though we are exchanging for a medium-firm mattress of the same brand
None of these fees or conditions were clearly disclosed on the receipt or during the online purchase.
We were also told we must keep the mattress for 21 days before initiating an exchange, even though this requirement is not clearly stated anywhere. Expecting customers to sleep for three weeks on a mattress that is painfully uncomfortable just to “break it in” is unreasonable.

On top of that, customer service has been extremely disappointing. Every representative we’ve spoken to has been rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help. All we want is a straightforward exchange, and Sleep Country has made it unnecessarily difficult.

This experience has completely changed how we view this company. I would strongly caution anyone buying anything from sleep country

Super disappointed and do not plan on…

Super disappointed and do not plan on giving sleep country any additional business. Purchased 2 adjustable bases and mattresses back in Nov 2025. Mattresses were way too firm, and didn’t feel the same as in store. In Dec 2025 we paid to exchange and upgrade to a different set of mattresses however we are still not having a good sleep nor do we like the gap that is created between the two mattresses preventing us from using the middle portion of the bed. As a result that is impacting our relationship and intimacy. They definitely don’t tell you that when you’re purchasing these type types of beds.We are not happy with the purchase however customer service says the purchases were final. There’s no options other than a 30% off our next purchase. I spent $8000 on this “sleep system” to not get a good night sleep as they like to advertise. It’s appalling.
The agent said for $99 they can take away this old mattress, clean it themselves and resell it, but I get no value out of that so no viable solutions other than spending more money at their store.
