Information provided by various external sources

SLIDR is a new online retail platform focused on Tech and Lifestyle products where users can acquire luxury trendy and innovative items at reduced prices through an enjoyable shopping experience. Consumers have the ability to slide and reveal their unique reduced price by paying a small fee (credits), and have 15 seconds to make their purchase decision. Should the price be convenient, consumers may proceed to check out. If not, they have the option to slide back at a later stage for a potentially lower price. The crowd, through their collective slides, will subsidise the price difference between the high street price and your unique price. The business model that combines shopping and gaming relies on a dynamic pricing model which is powered by an algorithm. This original approach to e-commerce allows consumers to fulfil their desires at prices they choose and feel comfortable with.

I was a little sceptical at first but thought I'd give it a go as a great price come up for a Nintendo Switch. Arrived within 2 working days, full tracking number provided, couldn't be happier. I will be buying some other bits in the future :)

Thanks again Slidr!

My honest opinion

To be honest this may be for some people but to get the best deals you are always going to be paying the difference in buying tokens to slide with, this kind of thing could be really addictive especially if you get a good price once, I used my trial slides and did not get a price anywhere near as cheap as I could get it elsewhere. In my opinion this is just a modern day con praying on people who don't realise. (To clarify in response to the comment by Slidr the main problem is not the price offered (I found cheaper from a few places ebay ect for brand new) it is the concept of the site that I don't agree with, this is my own personal opinion and rating, for some people the site may be worth it and I do not encourage anyone to avoid the site because of my review. I understand completely how the site works, you and or other people pay for the reduction in price of the items but for me this is too much like those pay for bids sites which I also consider a modern con)

Reply from Slidr

Hello Josh,

First I would like to thank you for trying Slidr out and for sharing your honest opinion.
We have reviewed the product that you searched for and the price that was revealed and we kindly
ask you to share with us where you would be able to get it at lower.

To clarify, our business model works on the basis that the more people use credits to reveal the price,
the lower the price is, so it really depends when you slid and how many people did before you.

On the other hand, we offer you a price Guarantee, if you could provide us with a Major UK Retailer,
that is offering it at a lower price than what you have revealed, we would be more than happy to refund the difference.

I would hope to hear back from you on contact@slidr.com.

Best regards

The concept of Slidr is unique and very…

The concept of Slidr is unique and very clever. You can pay for (but in my case, I connected my Facebook and got free) credits, and these credits essentially subsidise items and bring their core price down. You use credits to “slide” to reveal the price of items, and you have a short time to buy the item. Each time someone slides on an item and decides not to buy it, the item slightly reduces in price. I had three slides available and I used them all on the Bose headphones to reduce the price, each slide dropped the price by around £1.

Overall, Really pleasantly surprised by Slidr. At first I was skeptical of the legitimacy of this, because when stuff is too good to be true, it usually is. However, I ordered the Bose Quietcomfort 35 II headphones, RRP is £329.95 (Amazon), I bought them for £272.91! These headphones are genuine - how do I know? Because the product needs to connect with the Bose app, and they connect perfectly with the Bose Connect iPhone app, and if they were fake, they wouldn’t connect.

Delivery time was quick, 2 days I believe from ordering to it arriving. Tracking with Royal Mail is provided.

I’ll absolutely use Slidr again if I need any technology, and most definitely recommend this to my friends. Thanks guys!

Great concept

Great concept. Although you have to wait for the right deal, but the wait is worth it most of the times.
