Purchase a rug on 29th March 2026

Purchase a rug on 29th March 2026, did not match up to its description, wafer thin and not what I wanted, especially for £99. Which I'm out of pocket now, sent 22 emails, chat bot, what's app, rung the company ( no answer) to return this , but still got it , £99 means a lot to me, to treat customers like this, something should be done, cause looking at reviews, I'm not the only one , it's day light robbery

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. I have had a shocking experience. I ordered a throw via debenhams and ended up returning it via a label provided by them/ smart living. It confirms the item has been returned but I have not received any refund or even correspondence. This has been ongoing for over 3 months without any response to my many emails. They clearly dont have a seamless partnership with debenhams as its been a total mess from the start.

Button holes but no buttons

Ordered duvet cover which arrived ok. Put on bed & there’s button holes but no buttons so can’t do it up. Contacted Debenhams who contacted smart living & 30% refund offered. It wasn’t very expensive anyway so was about £4.50. I asked for 50% as to buy buttons & sew them on myself it’s worth that surely! But no they want it returned. So for £2.50 extra it’s a right faff as am housebound at the moment.

Sent rug back over two week ago got told my refund has been issued and still nothing after 2 week. Would not buy again from this company . If anyone reads this refund my money asap ! Thieves !

The order was placed with Debenhams for your item, and once it was returned to us, we promptly processed the refund on our end. You should have received a confirmation email from Debenhams regarding the refund.

When you contacted us, we provided a screenshot of the order showing that the refund had been processed from our side.

We have been actively following up with Debenhams as they are responsible for crediting the refund back to your account. Unfortunately, there has been a delay on their part, and we have not yet received any resolution despite our efforts.

We completely understand your frustration, but we kindly ask that any concerns regarding the delay be directed to Debenhams, as they are the ones causing the hold-up. Rest assured; we are continuing to pursue this matter with them to ensure it gets resolved as soon as possible.

Don’t buy anything from smart living…

I have been waiting for a refund for weeks! I have emailed customer service 3 times and no reply. Ongoing issue since 31st December! Reported to Debenhams they are not resolving the issue either!

My order from Debenhams was delayed

My order from Debenhams was delayed, and I contacted the company for assistance. It took some time to get through, but once I did, they explained they were experiencing a higher volume of customer queries than expected. I really appreciated that they took the time to listen to my concerns and resolved the issue quickly. While I was frustrated at first, I’m now very satisfied with the outcome. I'm giving 5 star because of there customer service

Worth Purchase

The rug is absolutely stunning! The vibrant colors and intricate detailing have brightened up my room and added such a unique touch to the space. While the delivery took longer than expected, it was well worth the wait, and I’m so happy with my choice!

Non Existent Customer Service/ Theft

Bought two throws from Debenhams via this company. Items were returned unopened and full tracking details supplied via email to their customer service email address requesting a refund. I placed my order with Debenhams on December 27th and it took a fortnight just to receive the order. Items returned the next day. The refund still hasn't been actioned and my emails to their customer service are being ignored. Non existent customer service. Will now have to instigate legal proceedings to recover my money via the small claims court which is tiresome to say the least. Avoid at all costs!!

We apologize for the delay in our response. Please be advised that our Customer Support Team operates Monday to Friday, and is unavailable over the weekend.

Upon reviewing the tracking information you provided, we can confirm that your return parcel was delivered to the depot on 22nd January 2025. However, it has not yet reached our warehouse. For your reference, we have attached screenshots showing the standard return process, where parcels are first delivered to the depot before being forwarded to our warehouse.

At this stage, we regret to inform you that your parcel has not yet arrived at our facility. Rest assured, once the return is received, your refund will be processed within 48 working hours. As outlined in our returns policy, all refunds will be processed within 14 days of order cancellation or receipt of the returned goods.

We are currently in communication with Yodel to resolve the issue related to the tracking information and to ensure prompt delivery to our warehouse.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.

STAY AWAY bought bedding from Debenhams…

STAY AWAY bought bedding from Debenhams wanted to return paper-thin duvet. No paperwork in parcel to return, my return won't log onto their system, ignore emails or work very slow been waiting for over a week now only got 7 days left to return it and they have the cheek to charge 1.99 for returning it. Terrible service

Awful company

Awful company! I ordered Xmas cushions via Debenhams (don't get me started on them!) The item was despatched by Smart Living using Evri (sigh). The item was meant to be delivered on a day I was out so I diverted it to my local post office. The item was not delivered & Evri have advised that it is lost. Now Smart Living are telling Debenhams that it was delivered because someone at their team is either lying for £30 or they can't figure out simple tracking information? This is what is wrong with retail today, greed with no customer service!

Shaggy Rug Grey

This is the second shaggy rug purchased. Very good rug, good colour, need to put something underneath to stop it from slipping. My bugbare is not being able to track it but that is the delivery’s fault. Luckily both times I have been in.

Very pleased with the rugs

Very pleased with the rugs, delivery was good, although couldn’t track the items as said “access denied” so not sure that was about. Good quality at a good price. The large rug was folded in correctly so one of the edges was upturned so trying to flatten that out and the smaller rug seemed a slightly different shade (reason for not giving 5*) but all in all was pleased with my purchase and would recommend this company
