Got fined for not paying for parking…
Got fined for not paying for parking after the pay machine showed THERE WAS NOTHING TO PAY. I appealed and they rejected it stating they believe I should still have paid.... I will never pay these scammers.
Blood-sucking vampires
I am a taxi driver. I am constantly picking someone up from the taxi office or dropping people off and leaving. They sent me a fine claiming I parked for 20 hours and 59 minutes on Saturday. On a Saturday, I didn’t stay there for 20 minutes, let alone 20 hours. Of course, everything is online now. It is clear which jobs I took and from where on that day. At the very moment they claim I was there, I was miles away in a completely different place. Every place I visited is recorded on my Google Timeline. I have filed my appeal.
These people are morons who cannot even properly record entry and exit times. The result of the appeal doesn't even matter never, ever take these people seriously. They are low-life, blood-sucking vampires who have made a habit out of robbery. The problem is what I always say, as long as the government does not perform its duty to regulate them properly, they will carry out this theft forever. We are governed by such pathetic politicians in such a miserable country that number of these cowboys will only increase, never disappear.
Echo all that has been said
Echo all that has been said. Shame on them and their shady tactics.
If i could give them a lower star…
If i could give them a lower star rating I would. This company is a rip off agent. I parked at a hotel for a business meeting and added my car registration to the tablet at reception as requested. However, because I didn't go on to the next screen and add in how long I was staying for I was charged a £60 parking fee. Absolute rip off. The whole system is designed to trip you up and extract as much money as they can from you. Not what you'd call high integrity or good quality customer service.
Would give these guys 0 starts if I…
Would give these guys 0 starts if I could. Gave me a ticket for “parking” in there car park when the car park is split by different levels and the area I was parked in was not covered by there terms & when I appealed on this basis that I was parked in a different area they rejected it…no way to further appeal either as they hadn’t uploaded the reference to IAS
Absolute thieves
Absolute thieves. My 19 year old daughter who suffers with crohns disease broke down in a car park. Whilst awaiting assistance she had a bowel accident and had to find somewhere to clean herself up. She overstayed the allotted free time by just 20 mins but despite providing both mechanical evidence and medical evidence this company refuse to show any decency. I'd rather see them in court than pay them. SP57525679
Looks like I'm not alone in my appalling experience.
Looks like I'm not alone in my appalling experience.
My elderly parents were threatened with bailiff action over a fine I repeatedly tried to pay.
Smart Parking’s own system error prevented payment. I provided evidence. They ignored all communication and escalated the matter regardless.
My dad has Parkinson’s and was deeply distressed by the threatening letters.
It was the debt recovery agency - not Smart Parking - who resolved it. That says everything.
I hope any business considering them as a parking operator reads these reviews first. What they do should be illegal.
Scum of the earth
Scum of the earth. Falsely gave me a fine for somewhere I didn’t even end up parking because THEIR OWN MACHINE was faulty and now I have a CCJ.
As corrupt as the day is long
As corrupt as the day is long. This is a typical example of the corrupting used by shopping centres to trap people into these fines, and then the company doesn't send the initial letter and then threatens people with final HIGHER fines and courts. This company needs to be taken down.
I would not even give them a 1 star my…
I would not even give them a 1 star my best advice other than not parking in one of their car parks is to always keep your ticket for a long time ,also most f there car parks are underground with no/low signal as for there appeals process tottaly useless
Disgusting and Immoral company
Absolute shambles. My daughter picked her sister up from the pub on Christmas eve. Spent 11 minutes waiting (couldn't even get a space) and my appeal was rejected, the reviews state IAS unlikely to be successful so paid. Disgusting and immoral company
Even though I was parked in the hotel…
Even though I was parked in the hotel parking lot, I was charged a parking fee for violations. Even if I present the hotel receipt, I will not receive any reply. It is a domineering fraud company. More than 1000 pounds were stolen from this company. I was forced to return home because my trip to England made me feel bad.
SCUMBAGS
These scumbags do NOT send letters or fines. They sent to debt collectors 18 months after the suspected date of fine. DO NOT PAY THE DEBT COLLECTORS. Reach out to the scum bags. Ask them of proof that the letter was sent. They have 14 days to send the evidence DO NOT PAY UNTIL ALL INFORMATION AND PROOF IS PROVIDED. KARMA IS A B AND IN HOPING THESE SCUMBAGS GET WHATS GIVEN TO THEM
If your thinking of getting these in to…
If your thinking of getting these in to monitor your parking be aware youll get a piece of A4 paper stuck on the back of a tree. They wont contact for 13 months so you cant appeal you will lose business ill never return to eat at that establishment again !!
I paid for my parking in full
I paid for my parking in full, but made a minor one-letter mistake in the vehicle registration. Despite providing proof of payment, Smart Parking refused to cancel the charge and claimed I was 11 minutes late.
There was no intention to avoid payment — the parking was paid. Penalising customers for a small human error is unfair and feels purely profit-driven. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service. I would not recommend Smart Parking.
Totally immoral and cynical
As others have said, this is a nasty, cynical, money making so called 'business'. It's more akin to Richard Turpin than a bona fide business though!
They have no other intent than to catch out as many people as they can, then blackmail them into extortionate payments, which they ramp up by any means at their questionable disposal. I actually blame the people who employ them though - utterly disgraceful that a business such as this is allowed to exist in the civilised world!
Do not bother
Do not bother. £60 fine for using the car park to turn around
Absolute cowboys
Absolute cowboys ! This company should be shut down
Received a ccj from 3 years ago for late payment for a parking spot in Morley Leeds , apparently I took too long to pay ? There were 2 machines and one was broken , 3 people in front of me
Resulted in paying £283 so I wouldn’t have a ccj on my records
I wouldn’t piss on a member of this company if they were on fire !!
We tried to exit a car park in December…
We tried to exit a car park in December 2023, and overstayed by 2 mins due to the traffic to get out (not even in a parking bay). Had a fine and appealed citing BPA code of practise which states 10 mins is reasonable. That was rejected, now have a court issued case. Just filed a defence. They want £300 all for a 2 min overstay!
Awful company and should not be allowed…
Awful company and should not be allowed to continue. Ticket purchased and still received a fine, appealed the ticket and received no further correspondence until I was informed it has been passed to a debt collection agency and refused to communicate as they felt 'this matter is now closed'. Absolutely appalling behavior and genuinely can't believe they are allowed to trade.
