More fool me

Why oh why did I buy two of these? Software updates don't work, some features can't be accessed on Chrome or Edge mobile browsers, endless trouble trying to link up to the app, and guess what - it needs to be charged almost every day. Absolute waste of time and money.

Smart Plant Ivy: A Triumph of Engineering Catastrophes I bought a second Smart Plant Ivy

So I bought a second Smart Plant Ivy. Why? Because the first one heroically sacrificed itself to a water leak, frying its electronics like it was auditioning for a role in a tragic sci-fi short film. I was sceptical, naturally—but my kids loved it, and I thought, “Hey, maybe lightning doesn’t strike twice.”

Guess what? It does. The second one lasted just long enough to lull us into false hope before it, too, decided life was overrated and promptly died. Bravo.

I reached out to support, sales, and anyone with an email address. The response? A masterclass in silence. Not even a courtesy auto-reply. Impressive.

So here’s my heartfelt advice: unless you’re in the market for a glorified pot of dirt with a light-up death wish, steer clear. This isn’t a smart plant—it’s a smart fertiliser. And calling it “smart” is generous. Honestly, I’m baffled how something this poorly made came out of a country that gave us a famous electronics manufacturer. Somewhere, an engineer is weeping.

Just a thought. Or maybe a cry for help.

Should be 0 stars. Please save your money as it this was ordered May 3rd and just saying it is going to be delivered. I tried to contact this company and SHOP multiple times. When u go to contact smart plant ivy on the email tab it literally comes up “do-not-reply@smartplantivy”
This company is GARBAGE. Buyer beware

BEWARE! You risk losing your money.

After reading other experiences here I fear that my money is gone forever.

Very Disappointed with the Lack of Communication

I’m very disappointed with my experience.
It’s been almost two months since I first contacted customer service about my order #13311213, which was returned to the sender according to DHL tracking. Despite multiple follow-ups, I have not received any proper response.
I understand that delays can happen, but two months of complete silence is unacceptable.
If I don't receive an update soon, I will have to escalate the issue through my bank and request a refund.
I truly hoped for better communication and support from your company.

Misleading Information and Poor Service

I placed my order for the Smart Plant Ivy on March 24, attracted by claims on the website of a serious Dutch company and free shipping. Despite multiple emails regarding my incomplete shipping address they changed after checkout, I received no response whatsoever. When the package finally arrived yesterday without prior notice, I was unable to collect it properly due to the missing address details not being corrected.

To make matters worse, when I eventually went to the post office to collect the package, I was forced to pay 15€ in customs fees because the product is shipped from China—not from a European company as advertised. This hidden cost completely negates the promise of free shipping. Additionally, the product itself is much smaller than shown in the photos and the overall quality does not match the advertised value.

I feel misled by the false claims and extremely disappointed with the poor customer service. I urge potential buyers to be cautious and verify all details before making a purchase.

non-existent customer support

My order was made 2+ weeks ago, I only got one email about order confirmed and then silence. No tracking number, no reply to my multiple emails. I have no idea if I will ever receive the product. Very poor/non-existent customer support.

SCAM

I ordered it in mid-November as a Christmas present. Two weeks later I got an email saying it had been shipped. After a few days I could no longer use the tracking. I wrote to support asking them to help me. 3 or 4 days later I got a reply with a new tracking number. The package was transported to my destination airport and was there for several days in the warehouse for customs clearance with UPS. 1 week before Christmas I looked at the tracking again and saw that the package had been returned to the sender. I called UPS and they told me that it had been returned because the sender had not contacted UPS after several attempts to provide the data they needed. I wrote several emails, unfortunately to no avail. Money gone, package gone. They advertise 24/7 support. Absolutely SCAM

Poor service

Keep seeing in their replies that their customer service has improved. I sent a message on their online chat which they claim to be 24/7... Well 24 hours and still no reply.
My planter barely charges, basically has to be left plugged in at all times. I am assuming this is a faulty product but nothing will be done as getting no response from customer services.

Pathetic service Item not received

Pathetic service! Please help!! There is no real customer support. I ordered this as a gift for my husband and they just don't care about their customers. I still have no update on my order which was placed on 18th December 2024. I have contacted everywhere but gets an automated response of my parcel is in transit. If you resolve this I will edit my review but I need to get my item first. Tracking details seems invalid too.

Bad products & scummy behavior

Just. Stay. Away. From this garbage company. Products get sent from china even tho this doesn't gets mentioned anywhere (you'll have additional costs). In case of warranty issues, there won't be any responds from them and their products are just trash. Sensors will fail in a few month, battery will last 3-5h after a couple of month. What will they do to help you? Nothing. Better give your money to a homeless person.

What an absolute disappointment

What an absolute disappointment. I live in Belgium so to wait 3 weeks for shipping is outrageous. No response to several emails and multiple attempts to connect through the chatbot. Not even a response to say they were looking into it. My daughter was so excited to give this to her dad for Christmas and the product just doesn't arrive? Don't sell a product if you can't keep up with customer service. Especially one with this pricetag. Absolute disgrace. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

bad costumer support

At first, the shipment took a very, very long time. Then Ivy's life went out after half a year, customer support didn't respond, so there was no way to get a replacement or communicate with anyone. Absolutely no recommendation, expensive and no way to do anything in case of non-functioning.

Lost order which was replaced

I ordered a Smart Ivy plant sometime back in February 2024 and seeing the order not being delivered after 4 months, I contacted the service desk and it came out that my parcel was list. Emily was really helpful and put a new order and just after 2 weeks, I received that one. Since I was not in a hurry, this really did not bother me and I was really grateful for the quick support I received. Thank you for the great experience !
