After having struggled to find the entrance into the questions. It was plain sailing, but before you starts make sure that documents are listed in the order that is required to answer the form.

The scheme is costly and onerous. Each year the same questions are asked and evidence that is still current and available to the scheme has to be re-submitted when there is no need. A better system would simply ask”what has changed since last year” instead of wasting valuable time and effort re-inventing the wheel

SMAS are by far the most efficient SSIP member. Their website works; it is intuitive and easy to navigate; it is easy to contact individual assessors who are happy to talk on the phone and who don't insist on email-only contact; the turnaround times are excellent and SMAS pricing much more in line with what smaller and medium companies can afford for this service.

Having SMAS for many years, I usually renew by sending completed forms and supporting documents by post, however, due to the current circumstances, I renewed online, absolutely brilliant, took next to no time to get renewed
