If I could give it -5 I would!

Awful service. Purchase was fine, delivery men contacted me as the buyer in the morning complaining that it was a three-person job not a two-person job, which had nothing to do with me, that was booked by these people.

The delivery arrived, they couldn't get it into the location. made no effort with regards to alternative routes and simply left the sofa in the hallway blocking a vulnerable and disabled person in their bedroom. When said "you can't leave it there" we were greeted with "it doesn't fit, it's not my problem". Had to threaten to call the police to get them to move it outside and then they dumped it on the ramp of the house so the disabled person was still trapped in the house until we managed to get so help from the neighbours to remove it. We are offered the opportunity for the delivery people to come back but for obvious reasons........ we declined.

Some decipher on Facebook marketplace for more anyway so up to you if you want to waste your time with all this fuss. Get ready for the, it's not our responsibility regarding the deliveries, or you brought the wrong sofa or whatever other creativity they can come up with.

To clarify one important point for transparency: it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that items will fit into their property. Sellers provide full measurements on their listing, and we also provide detailed “how to measure” guidance in our support centre to help avoid situations like this.

That said, we fully acknowledge that the delivery experience you received was unacceptable. The behaviour described does not meet our standards or expectations. At the time, AnyVan was the delivery partner used for this booking, and we are deeply sorry for the distress caused by their handling of the situation.

As an immediate apology, we refunded the delivery fee in full and offered to send an alternative team back to resolve the issue, which you understandably declined given the experience. Had the team been asked at the time, they would also have been able to place the item safely in your garage rather than outside; however, we appreciate that this does not undo what happened.

We take feedback like this extremely seriously. Issues such as this are exactly why we have since made changes to our delivery partners and internal processes to ensure higher standards of care and accountability.

We are truly sorry for the delivery service you received and the impact it had. This was not the experience we want for any of our customers.

I listed a very good quality sofa on…

I listed a very good quality sofa on this site and reduced the price all the way down to £60 purely to get rid of it, as I was getting a new one. Despite the very low price, it didn’t sell.

I received a large number of messages asking “Is this still available?” After replying and confirming that it was, most people never responded again. This happened repeatedly. It felt like a complete waste of time and, honestly, I suspect a lot of the buyers where just AI sending messages to make u feel as if you are getting intrest.

The platform needs better filtering or verification to prevent time-wasters and possible bots, as it made selling a simple item far more frustrating than it should have been.

To be absolutely clear, Sofalistic does not use AI bots or automated accounts to send messages. Every message you receive comes from a real, registered user on the platform. We take trust very seriously, and artificial engagement of any kind is not something we operate or support.

What you experienced is, unfortunately, a common behaviour seen across peer-to-peer marketplaces. Buyers will often message to check availability before committing, particularly when they are comparing multiple items or building a shortlist. Not every initial enquiry results in a follow-up or purchase, even at a very competitive price, and we appreciate that this can feel like a waste of time from a seller’s perspective.

That said, your feedback is absolutely valid. top quality purchase

Genuinely the best random find ever this website. The Mrs & I, were about to spend over a grand on a sofa, when Sofalistic came up, I thought I'd check to see if something similar was there - and I was THRILLED to see that there was a bigger and comfier looking sofa for a fraction of the price.

Communication was easy enough with seller, prompt acceptation, and delivered within 5 days, with help from the deliver driver to bring it into our property.

10/10 - have already recommended, and will again.

Fantastic

Fantastic! I was sceptical, as I had not seen or used this kind if pre loved sakes before. However from start to finish the correspondance and instructions were clearly given at every stage.
Delivery was on time as descrobed and I now have my ideal sofa at fraction of the price!

Poor customer service

My sofa was delivered to a proposed buyer on 19th December and I heard nothing and did not receive any payment so I contacted Sofalistic via their ticketing system on 23rd December to find ouy what was happening. I heard nothing and assumed that this was due to the Christmas/New Year break. On 5th January i received an email stating that the buyer had raised a dispute and that an email had been sent to me on 21st December which i did not receive. I sent a response back straight away and i am still waiting for a further response even though i was advised that i would be contacted again within 48 hours. Meanwhile, my sofa is sitting in someones house somewhere in the Uk probably being used and i am getting nothing back fom this Company. This i not good customer service

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m sorry you feel dissatisfied, however I’d like to clarify the timeline and context for transparency.

The buyer raised a dispute immediately following delivery on 19 December, advising that the sofa received measured 168cm and appeared to be a two-seater, whereas the listing described a DFS Harlem 3-seater measuring 212cm. Supporting photographs and measurements were provided.

The dispute details were emailed to you on 21 December using the email address registered on your Sofalistic account. As no response was received, the buyer followed up after the Christmas period and the dispute information was resent on 5 January, at which point you replied.

While a dispute is active, payment is correctly placed on hold to protect both parties and allow a fair resolution. The sofa has not been released for use or resale and remains under dispute while return arrangements are being discussed, as the item delivered does not match the listing description.

We appreciate that the Christmas period can cause delays, however our team has followed the dispute process consistently and communicated at each stage.

I can see that this has now been resolved and closed.

Quick and efficient 😊

I put my sofa on this website just before Christmas and wasn’t really expecting a sale at all given the time of year. I had to reduce the price a bit but within a couple of weeks it sold. The pickup was very quick and efficient and payment came through almost immediately. Very happy 😊

Amazing!!

We both bought and sold a sofa with Sofalistic and had a seamless experience. Really good communication, van turned up when it was supposed to, drivers helpful and polite and our new sofa is beautiful and a total bargain! No complaints at all, I have been telling everyone to use!

Really excellent idea

Really excellent idea. I was a bit skeptical but what a great idea and so easy!
Put my sofa up for sale on Tuesday, sold by Friday and collected the following Monday. Money in my account by Wednesday!
I do think there should be a ‘collection option’ and that the delivery flat fee is quite expensive.

Great service... Hassle free

Very easy to upload images of my sofa and really easy smooth hassle free process to sell the sofa.
When sold you pick a date for collection of the sofa. They pick it up and delivered it to its new home the same day. Fast payment process. For hassle free I highly recommend them.

Are old listings regularly checked and removed?

I've yet to buy a sofa on here but seen lots I like at decent prices even allowing for the high delivery charge. My rating is for my user experience so far.

I haven't yet had a reply from any seller I've messaged, in some cases well over 48 hours, which is disappointing. My sense is that many sofas are no longer available and the sellers either no longer use the site and can't be bothered to reply or take down their listing. I assume anything sold would be automatically removed by the company but maybe sofas are sold on other platforms and then never delisted and are cluttering up the site giving false hope to buyers. Many sofas state they were first listed over 6 months ago, which is why I'm wondering if they are really still available.

It's annoying that messages to sellers can only be from selected templates, not free text. I understand partly why and in any case it's irrelevant if they don't reply. All I wanted to do was check if the one I was interested in was one sofa or two but that question isn't an option.

That said, I've been impressed by the responses given by Marc to any negative reviews that seem very fair and balanced. I think this is a genuine company, but I would like reassurance that listings are regularly checked for viability and removed if no longer active.

We completely understand how frustrating it can be to message sellers and not receive a response, and you’re absolutely right to expect confidence that listings you see are still available and actively managed. As a marketplace, keeping listings up to date is critically important for buyer trust. We’re actively working on introducing new features that will automatically help identify and remove listings that are no longer available or are not being actively managed by sellers. Our aim is to ensure buyers can browse with confidence and aren’t given false hope by outdated listings.

In terms of messaging, the guided messaging system you’ve encountered is a really new feature. It was introduced in response to a significant increase in spam and phishing attempts on the platform, and its primary purpose is to protect both buyers and sellers. That said, we do fully recognise its current limitations. We’re continuously reviewing and expanding the available question sets and categories, and we absolutely take on board feedback like yours, including practical checks such as clarifying whether an item is a single sofa or a pair. You’ll see this system evolve significantly over the coming months.
