Installation team were great. Andy the electrician explained everything really well. We are still waiting for the export licence over a month later and no updates despite chasing. There seems to be j... See more

I have been experiencing a technical fault on the system. Mathew has been excellent in helping resolve the issue.

From the initial conversation to the installation, our experience with Wickes Solar was excellent. The team were helpful and communication was clear and easy to understand. We're now benefitting from reduced energy bills and selling excess energy back to the grid.

We ordered an upgrade to our solar system that Wicks fitted. The upgrade contract was signed and deposit paid at the beginning of August and it's now almost October and we have had no confirmation of an installation date. We just hope that we never need them to fix a fault with the system..

The installation went very smoothly June 2023 and the system has worked very well since with not issues what so ever.
In the last couple of weeks installed a EV charger, had to adjust a few setting with the tech team and again they were very helpful and the system is running like Swiss watch.
Now we have the EV & the solar batteries charging overnight on the reduced rate tariff.
We have just made an enquiry to extent our battery storage and I expect them to be supplied & installed with no fuss or delay.

Solar Fast having been taken over by Wickes. Technical services actually got back to me within a few hours of first telephone request for help.
Sorted my dongle problem with a new router in a couple of minutes.
Very helpful and appreciated.

Jonny & Neil gave excellent customer service when fitting our extra solar battery. We were given a morning appointment, they arrived on time and carried out the work fast and efficiently. Thank you to them both.

Had solar panel and battery bank installed in Mar and within two days the bird brushes under the panels had started to blow out and fall off the roof. Contacted Wickes on numerous occasions via phone and email but months down the line, no resolution. Living in a new build, the site builders were still on site and after months of sod all action from Wickes, builders kindly rectified the issue within 30 mins. From installation issues and delays, to no action on repair work, I deeply regret doing business with Wickes. I chose Wickes (and paid more than local companies) believing Wickes were a trusted brand, how wrong that assumption turned out to be.

From start to finish the experience has been 5*. Everything went to plan and we are very happy

Jonny and Neil arrived just before 7pm after presumably a long day, diagnosed the problem and fitted the part needed to solve the problem. There was no-one at the home base to link the newly repaired system to the main centre. So by 8.45 am next d ay he had been in work to finish the connection. He rang me to check and all was ok and working as it should. Brilliant service from these two considering they had been on the road most of the day and they took the time to fit us in. Can't praise them enough. A credit to the business.

At the weekend my broadband provider changed my router. I went on line as shown in the past how to re instate the inverter. Duracell have updated their software and now it’s asking for a password. I followed the instructions from the duracell web site but it did not work. I contacted Solarfast on Monday who installed my system last summer. Their technical dept called me back and went through step by step on how to fix the problem. After 10 minutes the issue was resolved. I cant praise the solarfast technical team enough. Made it easy to fix and very friendly. This company has great support 5 star service.

Straight forward and honest quote. Bit disappointed I had to have two separate phone calls. But understand that the company wants to get all correct information before giving accurate quote. Would recommend using this company

We went with Wickes Solar as we trusted the brand. However, it's been a string of problems. We appreciate that things happen but its how they are dealt with that matters. Customer service is non existant, communication is extreemly poor and its very much 'computer says no' at every avenue. Too many examples to list but an absolute disgrace and should be avoided at all costs.

I had the Solar system and batteries installed Feb 2024, it’s significantly reduced power costs.
I made a school boy error when I was discharged batteries to the grid to recharge when Octopus had free power.
The system stopped working properly and I called after sales for help. Within 5 minutes it was fixed.
I certainly don’t have any hesitation to recommend Solar Fast.

I needed some technical help as my system apparently had no AC connection. After a call to them, an email shortly arrived with pictures and instructions of easy steps to go through to sort the problem and everything was up and running in a couple of minutes.

Really helpful until the point when we signed our contract! After that we never heard from them. We were given a provisional booking in date and then this was never followed up on, the scaffolders turned up to set the scaffolding up without us knowing they were coming. The solar panel fitters came and we didn’t know they were coming! And now two months later the scaffolding is still up with no idea when it’s coming down. We were told it would be last Friday, so I couldn’t work from home and had to travel to the office and my wife stayed at home all day waiting for them to turn up which they didn’t! We have since chased and still don’t know when they are coming

The advisor, Charlie, from Solarfast contacted me as promised to help rectify a minor Internet connection problem I had. He was very patient and helpful with his advice. The issue was resolved within a few minutes.
Overall I am delighted with the solar and battery installation, and in the 2 years since initial install it has performed beyond my expectations.

The whole thing was very simple & well managed. Excellent support when required from the team, Mathew and Dawn in particular. Installers were quick & painless. Top marks

Well I am back on here again writing another review as regards my Duracell solar system installed by Wickes. It went off line for readings on the 19th of August since then I have had two visits by engineers and several tec calls which has ended up me complaing to both duracell and wickes solar. I might as well have put my head in a bucket. I was assured on both tec calls and the engineer visit that it would be sorted. What a load of rubbish. If you are contemplating using thus system or wickes solar and have a issue then be prepared to wait any long time to get it fixed. It is now the 11th of September and it still is not working. Oh and they want me to try and fix it. What a joke of companies they are. If I could give them a minus rating I would.

I am writing this to warn consumers regarding the hazardous design, substandard installation practices, and compliance failures of Wickes Solar (Gas Fast Limited).
My property underwent an installation for an itemized Fox EPS Whole-Home Backup Gateway and battery array expansion. The subcontractor installation was a disaster from the start: it caused structural damage to our main meter housing, completely omitted a critical connecting cable run between the inverter and gateway, and miswired the main EPS box into the incorrect port, leading to a total system failure during a grid blackout.Worse still are the technical safety and certification failures. The company routed our entire household load (including a large solar array, a domestic heat pump, and four separate air conditioning units) through this single isolation loop while leaving the property connected to inadequate, thin 16 mm² meter tails on an 80 A cutout fuse.Despite their Operations Manager explicitly admitting the cable sizing error and ordering a 25 mm² replacement, their technical coordinators subsequently canceled the appointment and formally closed our internal complaint, refusing to carry out the safe rewiring.Following our escalation, the Head of Solar issued a revised Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC). Shockingly, this legal certificate formally declares that the property has 25 mm² supply conductors and a 100 A main fuse installed. This is entirely false. My property physically remains on the original 16 mm² wiring and an 80 A fuse. Falsifying statutory electrical compliance certificates to cover up design omissions is an egregious breach of trade conduct. As Wickes Solar has closed our internal complaint and refused to make this installation safe or compliant with UK Building Regulations, this entire case file—including their written admissions and the incorrect certificate—has been formally submitted for independent audits with the Green Homes Dispute Resolution Team (Ref: 26090202), the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), and NAPIT (Case Reference: CP-8630-26). Avoid this company if you value technical compliance and household safety.
