I placed an online order of $750 which…

I placed an online order of $750 which is under the $800 limit for duty free. They proceeded to charge me $255 duty fee. My bad for clicking purchase and not noticing the fee that was totally unexpected. As soon as I noticed a few seconds later when the charge appeared on my AmEx, I tried to cancel the order but no one responded till the next day that it was not possible to cancel. When I asked why I was charged such a high duty fee, the again next day response was that it was due to Trumps tariffs. This is where the blatant fraud starts. The order was placed on July 7th. Trump's tariffs are not set to take place until August. When I tried to address this I received no answer. I decided that I will return the items as soon as they arrive. Here is the icing on the cake. They will not refund the duties. Somewhere, buried in pages of policies, they state that duties are not refundable and that any duties charged are basically a made up amount that the company estimates on their own. Please beware and never buy from them. It's a shame how supposedly a luxury brand has stooped this low.

Ridiculous Return Process

Was generally happy with the quality of my clothing but when it came to taking an item back (Jeans being too small) The return process is complex, they will not collect it from my home. Never ever had to take it to a collection point with DHL.. For ease of smoothness and so called free returns, I will not choose Sonia Rykiel again. I will probably now have to pay an extra fee just so it can be picked up and sent back. Hassle.. Will stick to Burberry and other higher end brands that make the return process easy.

Sonia Rykiel e-commerce is a disaster

Sonia Rykiel is a disaster since Global-e has taken over as an e-commerce platform. I was a huge fan, was truly upset when the London store shut a few years ago, followed shortly by the full collapse of the fashion house. Was really happy when they were resurrected online, however, it has been an appalling experience. Whilst my order was promptly shipped, I had to return it. I received the labels (they are very slow responding and two out of three emails will be ignored) but despite advertising free returns, I had to acknowledge a DHL charge of £24. I contested this and received confirmation (after a week) that it will be free. I got my labels, posted the package which arrived promptly at the destination. Upon enquiry when my refund would be issued, I was told I sent the package to the wrong country despite they issuing me with all the labels and documentation! Again, I contested and received confirmation that it would be processed after all. Another week has passed and I haven't heard since. I fear I will have to recoup my money via PayPal. Truly disappointed, this logistics company will tarnish the name of a legend and a fantastic brand.

The items are expensive and the customer service is a disaster

The items are expensive, made in Italy probably justifies the price, but the customer service, which logically should ride up high in standards, is a disaster. They only answer to order requests. That sums it all.
I dont recommend buying anything from Sonia Rykiel in 2021. Its just not serious, overpriced and you fell like they just want to sell you a name and none of what used to be attached to it. GOOD BYE
