Sook Stainable was born in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy in 2021, when the covid virus was spreading across the globe. I wanted to create something to brighten up the grey days and to do something that would make me feel alive again, so I created Sook Stainable, a way to express my imagination of life and to re-establish my connection with the world. As an independent brand, my workmates and I focus on the selection of materials and craftsmanship, and we want to make the items that accompany us every day delicate, fresh and timeless. Aware of the amount of fashionable waste that is left behind every year and the amount of plastic products that burden the environment and pose a risk to human and animal life and health, we launched SOOK's first collection with certified sustainable plant-based leather bags in 2021. In order to have more design possibilities, later on we also added a genuine leather collection. Genuine leather has a special texture and characteristics, due to its durable and long-lasting nature which is also an important part of sustainable fashion. However, the skin used to make leather comes from animals raised for their meat. In that sense, it uses a byproduct from another industry, so it doesn't actually need additional land and resources. We think it's a great way to recycle. We believe that "sustainability" can come from different perspectives, and in addition to the selection of materials, handmade products are also an important part of Sook Stainable.

ORDER NOT RECEIVED, NO RESPONSE FROM THE BRAND, A SCAM?
I placed an order on the brand’s website on Monday, August 11. According to the confirmation email I received, my order was shipped on August 12. However, I have not received anything to this day.
The tracking number I was given is invalid, so I have absolutely no way of knowing where my parcel is or whether it’s actually in transit. I’ve contacted customer service twice via email and also reached out via Instagram, but I haven’t received any response.
To make matters worse, I recently received a message from the brand asking for feedback on my order, but as I’ve said, I still haven’t received it.
At this point, the brand feels completely unresponsive, as if it no longer exists. I'm seriously concerned that I’ve spent a significant amount of money for nothing, and that my order may never arrive.

Misleading information and refusal to refund
I’d like to share my deeply disappointing and ongoing experience with Sook Stainable, in the hope of getting a resolution to my issues, helping other customers make informed decisions and avoid being misled or disrespected.
I purchased a bag advertised as “genuine leather” that costed 170€, but the product I received had a plasticky feel and appearance, far from what real leather looks or feels like. On top of that, the bag arrived damaged and missing a key piece, which I had to wait three weeks to receive from Sook stainable.
When I brought the bag to a professional leather repairer to install the missing piece, at my own cost, I was informed that the material was not genuine leather.
I contacted Sook Stainable immediately to report the issue and request clarification. Their response was that the bag is made of a cheap second-layer leather cover — a detail that was NEVER mentioned on the product page. This is the official definition of the so called « genuine leather » : Two-layer cowhide is not full-grain leather. It is the lower-quality part of the hide, and it’s usually covered in synthetic material (like plastic) to make it appear more like high-quality leather.
This lack of transparency about material traceability is highly misleading and directly impacted my purchase decision. I would not buy this bag if I knew it is made with plastic; and certainly never at the price of 170€. Based on this, I requested a return and a full refund.
On June 4, the company confirmed in writing:
“Hi, Ok please keep the bag in our original box, send me the size, weight and we will book a return label for you.
After we receive the bag the refund will be sent to you automatically.”. This is an official confirmation in writing that the refund and return decision is VALID.
I sent all the requested shipping information right away. The company then reached out to inform me that they have changed their mind and after agreeing in writing to accept the return and return, they do not accept it anymore, for NO reason. After that, the company stopped replying to my emails, blocked me on Instagram, and even banned my access to their website.
When I shared my experience through an honest review, I was met with intimidation, legal threats, and violent pressure to remove my comments — instead of receiving any respectful resolution.
Despite multiple polite and amicable attempts to resolve the situation, the company has continued to ignore my messages. This kind of behavior is disrespectful to customers and unacceptable from any professional brand.
My complaint is not about the return policy or any delay in making a return request, nor on the company disrespectful behaviour towards customers. The core issue lies in the misleading product description. The bag was advertised as “genuine leather,” yet it is made from second-layer leather with a synthetic (plastic) coating — a crucial detail that was never disclosed on the website. This lack of transparency about the material’s true composition is deceptive and violates EU consumer protection regulations. It directly influenced my purchase decision, as I was led to believe I was buying a high-quality leather item, not a product partially made of plastic, sold at a premium price.
I strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing from this company. I do not recommend Sook Stainable.

Your order was delivered on April 18th, you said that there was a missing accessory where the shoulder strap meets the bag, because the bag is handmade and we thought that maybe the craftsman had forgotten about it, so we told you that we could send it to you for free, and gave you a discount coupon. We also told you that you could require for return & refund. On April 20th, you confirmed via email that you liked the bag and wanted to keep it, after we decided promptly sent you the missing accessory at no cost. Then on 2nd June you sent us a return request, our return policy allows 15 days from the delivery date to request a return, which was clearly stated at the time of purchase .
You also questioned the authenticity of the material. Please note that the bag you purchased is made with split leather, a form of genuine leather, as confirmed by our supplier. It is not a “cheap” material, but a re-cycling of leather, which we consider to be environmentally friendly. We're sorry you didn't like the material, but we are happy to know many others like it.
Our employee replied to your email asking for parcel size for return label purposes — however, this was not a confirmation of refund. After management reviewed the case, your return request was declined, no return label was issued, and the product was never returned.
Despite multiple clear explanations, we’ve received ongoing emails, social media comments, and public accusations, including being called a “scam.” We respectfully disagree with this characterization and assure you — and all our customers — that we operate with transparency and in full compliance with EU consumer protection laws.
Finally, we had to block you because, despite our repeated explanations to you, you told us that if we didn't give you a refund, you would leave us bad reviews everywhere you could, not just comment on us, and you did comment under every one of our posts , under our business partners and collaborators, calling us a "scam ", this is highly inappropriate.
