Viktor at the front desk was very accommodating and knew his stuff - will definitely recommend speaking to him when you arrive here. Thanks

Very Poor Communication and Hospitality
This is the second time i have dealt with Sopwell and unfortunately i have had very poor communications with them.
first time was last year when me and my fiance was planning our wedding and had to chase more than times to try and book the venue and finally gave up in the end as even when we finally got a call back weeks later the lack luster approach was not appreciated and the view of hold a wedding there with the team was not re-assuring. also to add when sharing this story with a work college he said he actually knew the owner and said he would enquire on my behalf. when he spoke to him regarding this lets just say the answer was along the lines of we are busy enough as it is and we will always find bookings to cover dates.
however we believed the facilities where still of a high standards even if their events team was not up to scratch so today as we are still unsure of travel during Covid we decided we would have our honey moon inland and start off at sopwell. on calling them today got answered quite quickly, but as i was about to ask for dates availability and was hung up on for no apparent reason, on the assumption it was a natural cut off i rang back to someone answering the phone and hanging up straight away (if i am wrong on this i will take back statement however i think it is safe to say it is obvious when you have been cut off on purpose) , and now when calling no answer. it like this business does not want my money as now on two occasion i have been dealt with very poorly hence this review as want people to be aware as already said this business does not value customers willing to spend their hard earned money even during these uncertain times.
Unfortunately we were never able to get…
Unfortunately we were never able to get to Sopwell House due to myself being admitted to hospital. When we phoned them to ask for either a refund or to move the weekend we were told that it wasn’t possible. We offered to pay an admin fee, show evidence that I’d been in hospital etc. Overall I was very disappointed and upset with the service. I appreciate it was a non-refundable room but it was exceptional circumstances and for that I’d expect more care and compassion. It ruined what was already a pretty terrible birthday!

This place is absolutely amazing
This place is absolutely amazing. Pricey but worth it. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Well mannered and happy. The food is excellent although there is not much of a choice for vegans.
Feels like you are abroad thats fantastic.
Great physical assets and keen staff but missing the important detail.
The physical facilities are great and the staff seem keen to help but the actual service fell short on quite a few points, too many to mention here.
For example, we were called at home to ask if they could help with anything before our stay and when we asked to book a table for dinner the answer was no, you will have to call the hotel, so why ask?
On arrival we had to wait ages to check in due to complaints about the wrong booking information and a kind member of staff offered us a drink which was nice but candidly it would have been better if they opened another check-in desk.
On one evening we ordered food and drinks in the bar (because we had no table booking) and there was no sign of the drinks for about 20 mins and when they came we were given a large glass of wine when we ordered a bottle and a fruit juice.
We had to correct the wine and we didn't get chance to sort the fruit juice before the waiter disappeared and so I had to go and ask at the bar when I queued behind a lady asking where her drinks were (so it wasn't just me)!
Then we were brought the wrong juice and so on. We had to smile at the time as it was an interesting faulty towers experience. I was also expecting a room upgrade and if my room was an upgrade then I would not want a standard room.
More than once I was barged out of the way in corridors around the spar area by spar staff despite wearing a dressing gown which seemed odd customer oriented service.
We experienced several other minor issues which spoiled the overall customer journey. I mentioned some of our troubles on departure and we received an email to apologise and then a few days later I get an email to give a review which highlights the lack of detail with regards to managing the customer journey.
Also, if you book online and request treatments, expect to have to fill out your name and address etc again because the digital journey is also sub optimal so I would call if I were you and let them enter your details several times.
It is a shame because it has awesome potential but it’s not a Danesfield house or a Savoy.
