I'm in NSW & responded to an advertisement on TV for a battery from SouthAus Solar. The salesman incorrectly recorded my Email address which was fixed a week later when I rang to say I hadn't recieved my welcome pack. I was offered a larger battery which I was happy to accept & pay the extra for, then 2 weeks later the installers did their thing & we were in business. Almost seamless, the Technical, financial & installation people were all great & after a couple of weeks I'm also very happy with the battery. Thankyou SouthAus Solar.

I viewed SouthAus Solar ad for a battery for my PV solar roof system. I called and was explained the offer, I asked the payment requirements for a purchase in cash from me. The sales person said, a deposit, followed by a visit in 2 to 8 wks time visit to inspect my home, when I would pay 40% with the balance on installation.
I get a call a few days later offering me a larger battery for an additional $5k, I declined, a few days later I get another call offering a install date, and was advised no pre install visit was to occur. And I have to pay a further 80%. I said I was advised of a pre install visit when I would pay 40%. They advised they would look into it.
A few days later I get a call and its confirmed I was advised of the 40%, which was not understood as to why I was told that.
I informed the representative if I was told I had to pay 80% plus the deposit with nothing more then an email, I would not have signed up to SouthAus Solar, as I had nothing tangible for all that money.
Now I am told by the representative they could not guarantee the return of my deposit.
I want all to know, nothing was said about the loss of the deposit if I back out. I did not receive any documents till I paid, to be able to read any T&C docs.
Also note, to be able to read the T&C's I had to find them and to do that i had to look in the docs emailed to me, find a link to other info, on the product, I stall and several other pages, and in that is the T&C doc. Very well hidden.
But note this is after I have paid. I was never advised of any part of their requirements.
And will I get my deposit back..... watch this space. Nearly 2wks later I got the refund!
Lots of smoke and mirrors from what I can see. I still don't trust this company.

Unfortunately not a good review product installed incorrectly and also something on it not working (difficult to ascertain what the reality actually is) and need to constantly follow up with them they rarely get back to you and provide no time frames and little details on what will be done to rectify the situation. At this stage it looks like I have paid around 5k for a wall decoration. Someone make me an offer?

I chose SASolar to supply and install my solar batteries.

This seemed to be an omen, because for several months after, the battery didn’t seem to perform as expected. What was more concerning was that SASolar was unresponsive to my calls and emails. Eventually, after months (!), the battery software was updated and reset, and the battery finally worked as advertised.

While the battery problems were overcome as I knew they would be eventually, the thing that annoyed me most was SASolar's incredible lack of responsiveness. It was like speaking and sending emails into a blackhole.

My dealings with SASolar THIS WEEK (mid April 2021) suggests nothing has changed on this front. It is simply the most unresponsive company I’ve ever dealt with.

Ended up going with south aus solar with a good price and seemed to know what they were talking about throughout our conversations with them during our quoting process. It’s all been seamless since!

The purchase initially began by speaking to a direct, informative, fluently polite (but no too pushy!) Gary Lawson, followed by an extremely through installation process. Reassuringly the main installer appeared quite meticulous in his approach and he had to make a few adjustments (to which he took great care) at the installation site, but there was no fuss or worry directed towards me. He also helped me set up the HIVE app, answering any questions I asked of him. All this took him the larger part of a day! So thank you SA Solar!

Everything went fantastic, from the initial call to the installation. Great communication, they handled all the paperwork and answered all my queries. The installer, 'Frank' was very professional and could not recommend this company highly enough. It's great when things go as well as this did, no hassle trouble free. Thanks guys and gals from SouthAus Solar.
