Aaron came for a home visit, he listened to our issues/concerns and gave constructive & valuable advise.
He didn't rush and was able to demonstrate ways to correct dominant behaviour and take control of the situation.
By the end of the visit I felt less anxious and more confident/prepared to manage my dogs in the home.
He shared links on the collars & leads he used during the visit and made me feel that we were not alone and he/Southend was there for support if required later. Thank you

Superb! We had a 1:1 session with Adam to work on my dog’s lead walking and human/dog interaction.
Adam was really easy to talk to and explained everything clearly and even dumbed it down for me! He wasn’t judgemental in any way and solved the lead walking issue within 20 minutes of being there.
My dog can be hit or miss with people but there was no issue with Adam in fact he loved him, I trust my dog’s instincts and again they were correct.
Adam tried different techniques to work out my dog’s interaction issues and by the end of it we were able to identify the reasons.

Excellent session today with Aaron who came to our house and went through so many processes to help us with our GS. What he showed us were easy to absorb, made things look so easy and put us at ease.

Sophie has been amazing with helping me with Mabel. I am absolutely delighted with the progress we have made in a very short time.
Sophie is very supportive and understanding. She took the time to listen to Mabel’s background and then structure the training in a way that set Mabel up for success, without overwhelming her.
She taught me how to help and support Mabel and give Mabel confidence in situations that she would otherwise find overwhelming.
I would thoroughly recommend Sophie.

Very good trainer with patients who was very thorough showed me how to use a different type of collar
And didnt show that she was scared of my dog like a previous training school

I’ve been struggling with my dog Ralph’s constant lead pulling and I’ve not had any lead control whatsoever until today. After one session with the right guidance from SDT I’m much more in control of Ralph and he’s clearly a much happier dog for it. Thank you Adam and Evan I highly recommend your training. I look forward to a pack walk soon.

Nearby and easy to find. We met Sophie, who is lovely. She really gave us good advice and made everything sound easy. We have a way to go but Sophie really does know her stuff and noticed a change in walking our dog with her advise and guidance. It was such a pleasure to meet you and can’t wait to see Nala’s improvements on the next session

We had a 1:1 session with Aaron last Friday, we traveled 3 plus hours for this and booked a night in a Travelodge the night before as our session was moved to 9am due to the extreme heat, we can honestly say it was worth every penny. Aaron is calm, knowledgeable and incredibly patient. Beau our JRT is dog reactive and a nightmare to walk, by the end of the session he was lying down maybe 4 ft away from Aaron's dog Hank and was walking with zero pulling. Aaron explained to us that he doesn't need to be any closer to other dogs than that it's of no benefit to him he just needs to accept that they are there and ignore them. We know we have a lot of work ahead but feel confident that we now have the tools to correct some of his less wanted behaviors. Thanks again Aaron (and Hank)

I booked a one to one session with Adam at Southend Dog Training after spending lots of time and money trying other trainers for help with my reactive cockerpoo x border collie. Adam was friendly and welcoming and listened to my issues I have. The session was really informative and Adam taught me how to manage situations, changed the lead I was using and showed me how to be more confident. I’ve gone from being nervous about seeing other dogs and avoiding them to being able to see another dog and walk right past. It’s completely changed my walks and given me the enjoyment back.
After the one to one I did a pack walk which was so well organised and helped me put into practice everything I’d learnt in real situations. Such a good idea to run these walks.
I can’t recommend Adam and the team at SDT enough!!!

We travelled over 2 hours to get to South-End Dog Trainers because we couldn’t find anyone locally to help train our Jack Russell Terrier who was nervous and reactive with other dogs. It was 100% worth the drive. Sophie’s knowledge and understanding of dogs and their body language meant that within minutes of us being there she could see what we needed to change to better communicate with our dog and help him understand what we want him to do so we can start to build his confidence. We followed her advice to the letter and by session two, it was like having a different dog. Worth every penny, and the long drive. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, I would highly recommend them.

What an amazing day, Bobbie and I had training today with Sophie .. she got him to walk on a lead without pulling and also settle on a bed ..

When we got home the Bobster got out of the car and didn’t try to pull but waited patiently for me to move now to put In the training .. thank you Sophie

I highly recommend SDTraining! Firstly, Sophie gave me great advices for my dog & I was surprised with her psychological support!
Secondly, she sent me a brief of what we discussed and a long mail with videos and extra advices for my case!
Although, we will have together an online training , she changed my mindset and I think that’s the most important! Thanks for all!

We took our rescue dog Finny to Southend Dog Training and honestly couldn't be more impressed. Sophie was incredible—so patient, knowledgeable, and down to earth. From the moment we arrived, she made both us and Finny feel at ease.

Finny can be a bit of a handful when seeing other dogs, but Sophie helped build confidence not just in him but in us as owners too. Her advice was practical, easy to follow, and tailored to our situation rather than some generic “one size fits all” approach.

We left feeling more in control, more empowered, and actually excited about our training journey. Thank you so much Sophie – you've made such a difference already!

Have been following Southend Dog Training for a while via social media and having recently rehomed a dog downloaded their app for additional support. The tips and explanations given are easy to follow, practical and honest. So far the videos we have viewed a few times over have helped us start to build a trusting foundation with our dog, routine and address some of our concerns such as separation anxiety. For new dog owners or those with experience I would highly recommend Southend Dog Training.

Aaron came to help with our dogs aggression towards our newborn and we were extremely happy with our session. Aaron was friendly and professional as well as extremely knowledgeable and experienced. We learnt about what our dog’s behaviour really meant rather than seeing it as true aggression. This massively helped us understand what we need to do to manage his behaviour. We were also shown practical interventions we teach our dog. My partner and I now feel confident with what training we need to put in place. We highly recommend using SDT. A brilliant service from initial enquiry, booking, our 1:1 session and follow up support offered.

Aaron was amazing. This is the 4th trainer we have had none of the previous other companies had a clue what to do with our boy and he isn't even that reactive. Aaron was so helpful and I can't believe what he has achieved so far with one visit. Very happy.
We have a very skittish mixed breed bully cross whippet and hopefully with the tips we have had we will get the results we need. I am confident we can.

Sophie was so sweet and intelligent. She knew so much and it was a very informative session. I actually used some of her advice today and it worked! They’re really good and know what they’re doing.

Been following SDT for a while, and found Aaron’s approach and explanations really made sense. Found a few things with our lead walking just weren’t working, managed to book a session and here we are! Gemma was superb with checking in, travel plans, and walking spots locally. Good reminders in the run up and What3Words sent for exact location (thank goodness, otherwise would have been a challenge).

Was really impressed with Aaron, he really took the time to get to know both Womble and I, to make a game plan that would work. He used a number of different ways to explain things, and made great progress with Womble, then me!!

Thoroughly recommend a 121 with him, as videos can only take you so far. Having someone assess you and your dog, which will be a unique combination was brilliant.

Arrived on the dot for my appointment I was greeted by chap called Steve we had a little chat and he offered me coffee, Most important part of the visit 😂,,,,Then my trainer for the session Sophie came out and introduced herself, I got my boy Blaze out we then went off to our own little fenced off section, Sophie was nothing but professional and informative though out the session to which i believe myself and Blaze have come away with knowledge and confidence to get past the reactive challenge we faced,,,,,,,

I would also like to add Blaze was a rescue and when my wife contacted Southend Dog Training worried and anxious due to his reactivity they offered me a reduced rate because he was a rescue which for me showed this place cared ( obviously you do need to provide evidence of this like adoption paperwork to be expected )

Also if you wondering why after the lovely review I did not put 5 stars I am sure Southend dog training would agree that there is always room for improvement and to give 5 stars would suggest they have peaked I believe from my experience they can only get better 😁
