I have used Southfields for both my dogs and have been exceptionally happy with the specialist care received on all occasions. This time I visited with my dog Max who was experiencing ulcerated corneas in both eyes. Max hates visiting the vets under normal circumstances but seemed so calm during his visits to Stefan and his assistant Sharon. Both made Max feel safe and that is half the battle. Stefan has been brilliant throughout this process and I cannot thank them enough. I would also like to mention all the staff working in reception and the accounts team who are a credit to this company. They are all so helpful, professional and kind which is what you need when the furry members of your family are ill. Thanks

Total lack of communication EXTREMELY money orientated.

Number 1 priority is money for this organisation - I would never return. They can't even process documentation in the guidelines that they advertise despite charging extortionate prices for doing so.

Very glossy exterior with little substance!

Far better services exist elsewhere at not extortionate prices. Do your research before going near !!

I can not recommend Southfields enough. We got a call the same day we were referred and was offered an appointment the next day with Stefan. He was fantastic with our very excited Labrador, he was so patient with him. He done a thorough examination of both eyes and explained the procedure that was needed and the cost. Then the procedure was done there and then, with a follow up appointment booked in.

Very friendly staff , take care of your pet from reception to nurses to consultant. Everything explained and the course of action to take . Appointment on time , and easy parking

Fantastic treatment from Southfields Veterinary Services, Basildon. In particular the Oncology Team and especially Sue and Sam who go above and beyond to make sure my dog’s treatment is about cuddles and treats as well as chemo.
These ladies take time out of their weekends to run coffee mornings for owners whose pets are undergoing oncology treatments. This is a wonderful idea - allowing people to view the amazing facilities and to meet with others in a similar situation to compare notes, calm nerves and offer support. Thank you everyone for your kindness and your care.

We were really happy with the treatment our dog got at Southfields. Friendly staff to us, but more importantly fantastic with Lilly (dog). They explained everything and no costs were hidden. No pressure to agree to anything there and then. Obviously expensive but that’s pet ownership! Lilly’s happy so we’re happy 😊

We arrived and were seated in a clean waiting room. Friendly ladies on the desk. Welcomed my dog as he has been so many times with follow up appointments. Nursing staff who did his bloods were lovely, the nurse we saw today was professional kind, polite and very caring, clear explanations and goes out of their way to see our queries were answered . Then off to see Stefan his ophthalmologist. Stefan knows our dog and always ensures his needs are met at every appointment, always explains in detail clear options, diagnosis and next steps. Making it as least stressful as possible. Every visit has been with my dogs anxiety taken into consideration by Stefan, James W and all the staff at Southfields.

Met Stefan today who saw my Chihuahua for an eye problem. He was friendly, welcoming and professional from the very beginning. Stefan took time to thoroughly examine my dog in a calm and efficient manner. I've never seen my little dog so happy and relaxed at the vets. He went on to explain what the issues are and went through various treatment options in good detail checking that I understood everything he was recommending. I feel that my dog is in safe hands with Stefan and trust that his treatment options are in her best interests.

Attended the oncology coffee morning today, was really interesting and great to have a tour of the facilities.
Well done to Samara, Susan and all the team at Southfields.

Our dog Maggie is very nervous of people but has taken a shine to Stefan in ophthalmology who’s wide knowledge of Maggies eye problem has given us confidence in the treatment she is receiving. He takes time to explain everything and makes sure we are happy with everything . He is in no way pushy and you can tell he only thinking of the animals wellbeing. We always have a good experience when we see him & Sharon which is every six months. We totally would recommend Stefan & the department to anyone.

We have had a very good experience at Southfields after being referred to them with an issue with our dogs eye, we were referred to see Stefan the ophthalmology specialist, he is superb, really knows his stuff and after only a few short weeks we have seen a big improvement with her eye.
You can tell all of the staff there care about the animals and are genuine animal lovers.
All staff have been very good from reception, nurses and the vet.
We have full confidence that our dog is going to make a great recovery under Stefans expert guidance

Stephan the opthalmic specialist was the most wonderful vet I've ever met. You can tell he found his true vocation in life!! My very nervous miniature pinscher had a really positive experience (and so did I as a very anxious owner!!) and appointment with him and the lovely nurse Sharon who took the time to settle Margot. Thank you both.

Also Deana Goom for being so very very kind and understanding, greatly appreciated.

We had to take our dog to Southfields for a cyst removal from his eye.
The whole team are very welcoming, friendly and professional., and customer service was excellent. The specialist vet who treated our dog was amazing. He was very thorough, obviously very experienced, reassuring and kind to our dog, as well as the nurse who was with us.
I believe if any of your pets have to go to Southfields they will be in the best hands

Dom and the team at Southfields have been outstanding the past six months. The care they have shown our rabbit has been phenomenal. After being dismissed by other vets, Dom took time to listen and really understand the symptoms and from what looked like a PTS situation, we now have a thriving bunny. Whilst we are not out of the woods, the ongoing care has been exemplary. The entire team have been amazing and I couldn’t recommend them enough. Without Dom, Cassie and the team we might not have had the past four months and many more to come with our rabbit. So grateful and clearly he is too as we have binkies and zoomies again!

After the initial communication of was really wary and read the reviews from here. My bet had referred us for a CT scan and my dog is a 10 year old mastiff, so isn’t young for his breed.

The initial wariness led me to read reviews on here which led me to look at alternate places for the scan but my vet reassured me that plenty of people had used them and their experiences were fine.

So we went ahead. My dog is an ex rescue and after some major surgery gets very stressed.

The care we received was exceptional. We were allowed to use the oncology reception area alone to be with him being sedated and coming around. We went between rooms using the outside and everything was catered for to give him the best possible experience. I could have cried with the amount of care that was taken with him.

They are expensive but they are specialists and tbh I would pay more to ensure a better experience for my boy.

We have been to Southfields on several occasions with our Rabbits. I have to say Dominic, Cassie and their team have been nothing short of amazing. Always thorough in their investigations and the treatment delivered is always compassionate and with respect. We understand care for pets can be expensive, but Southfields is worth every penny. Other vet practices have turned us away as our rabbits have ongoing conditions. Southfields understand so we would always choose them first.

I used Southfields when my little dollydog was poorly . I can only speak of our experience . We were treated so kindly , dollydog was treated for cancer twice and we were kept up to date on all her care and treatment plan . We had such a lovely experience with them and wanted to thank them all over the years for their help . Thanks to grace surrige for the care and love shown to us during a difficult time. We will never forget the kindness shown

I would like to thank Southfield for the excellent operation they carried out on my chihuahuas Bambi whose back leg had been playing up for some time . The only thing I think they need to explain more is you usually get 4 days care with the operation and dropping off a day early count has one of your days ( not free days has said by the vet ) . I thought I would give a review has my dog was having pain after the operation and the vet realized the pin was too long so removed this a month later included in the price of the operation- I now realise my dog seems much more Happy and her leg must of been in pain before the operation- she no longer limps
