From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted not just by a team of professionals, but by a group of genuinely awesome human beings who make you feel completely at ease. The studio is vibrant, spotless, and full of creative energy. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just get inked—you feel understood, supported, and inspired.

I’ve been there many times now, and I can honestly say the entire team feels like friends. They’re warm, welcoming, and incredibly skilled. Every visit is a joy.

My journey with SG started with a cover-up consultation for a tattoo that had caused me years of discomfort—I couldn’t wear t-shirts in summer without feeling ashamed. But from the first conversation, Ivo was exceptional. He listened, advised, and together we designed a 3/4 sleeve Japanese piece with clouds and maple leaves. The result? Absolutely stunning. You can’t see the old tattoo at all—and more importantly, it gave me back my confidence.

That experience was so transformative, I decided to start a second 3/4 sleeve on my other arm—this time with Japanese waves and maple leaves. It’s still in progress, but already it feels like a poetic reflection of my own journey. The waves speak to resilience and movement, while the leaves capture the beauty of change. It’s not just a tattoo—it’s a story on skin.

And Ivo? He’s a master artist. His passion, precision, and creativity are unmatched. I wasn’t expecting this level of artistry and professionalism—it truly exceeded every expectation. He’s not just talented—he’s deeply committed to making sure every piece is meaningful and perfect.

We booked for matching tattoos with Nicole, we booked over a month in advance and provided the quote, size and style and were told all this was fine so we paid the hefty deposit. We were given an approx price based on 4hrs work.

On the day Nicole was late, spent 20 minutes designing our tatts in a separate room from us and then brought them in for ‘okaying’. We weren’t ok with her original designs as we’d already sent our specs and had understood they were ok. We had to go with adapted versions because we’d already paid the deposits and Nicole said what we wanted was possible. She clearly misunderstood us as newbies (our other tatts are hidden) and charged us a large price for 2 hrs work half of which was spent mediating over style and size.

Finally, whilst tattooing is she only chattier to her colleagues and made a homophobic slur that she was called out on by her friend. We won’t be returning.

Nicole is clearly experienced, the quality of the tatts is not something we wish to diminish. But the experience was not great and we have ended up with tatts we had not asked for. Dangerous ground with something so permanent.

Cannot express enough how wonderful my experience was at this studio. The owner and every team member were so hospitable and positive - it made my heart smile. A special thank you goes to an incredible artist Vasiliy who was not only the most professional and courteous during the session but also hugely exceeded my expectations with his immense talent. Thank you all very much!

Had a tattoo some months ago, just before the second lockdown. It was an elaborate work of art representing my family. Ivo did a great job developing my idea. I intend to go back soon to get another tattoo.

Where can I start. I went to Southgate tattoo as a walk in and was seen immediately and given a booking for my tattoo just a week later. I had done my research and heard such amazing things but no one could have prepared me for such an amazing service. The employees there, especially Nermin, seemed to really care about what kind of service she was providing and was such a lovely person overall.
In terms of pricing, I was expecting it to be a lot more. I was quoted between £150 and £180 but was only charged £130 in the end. Worth every penny!
The staff did everything to make sure it was a pleasant and comfortable experience. I know where I’ll be going for my second tattoo!

visited Southgate SG tattoo and piercing today ,and I can honestly say I had the best welcoming when I arrived ,with the receptionist being so kind and helpful!.

I was pierced by Pamela, who was so professional and friendly, she was thorough and helpful. She was so kind and friendly.

I also met some of the other team who are just so down to earth, and friendly 😁I am definitely going back to Pamela for more piercings, and to get my next tattoo by Oscar, whose work is beautiful.

I have been to Southgate Tattoo studio three times now once for a tattoo and then twice for piercings and I have to say I couldn't recommend this studio enough. It is always super clean and everyone is really kind a friendly. They make you feel very welcome when you arrive and throughout your whole visit. Making sure you are okay at all times when they are working with you. The artists and piercers are all really talented and they go the extra mile to make sure you are 100% happy with what they have created. Really great quality equipment and a great place to go for piercing and tattoos.

I got my belly button pierced earlier today and couldn’t have had a better experience! as soon as i walked in it was so clean and the staff were so nice. i barley felt a thing it was crazy!! would recommend to everyone to deffo come here<3

Very friendly staff and really professional. Had my first tattoo on Thursday and it was done by Nicole and I love my tattoo,everyone been complimenting my tattoo especially how neat it turned out and I really wanna get another one but just wanna go through the healing process first as it’s my first.

Very friendly, professional, and helpful salon. My first time here and I felt completely at home. My tattoo looks great and is even better than I imagined. Highly recommend going here. Nicole was my tattooist and she is brilliant.

If you value your time I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. My appointment was at 12:30pm was told by Oscar that he’ll be in at 1pm. I was left sat there for 20 mins after 1pm. The design wasn’t even done before I arrived. I was sat there for 4 hours waiting for a piece to be done. Waste of my day off and left without even being tattooed. Very unprofessional artists! Would not be going back! I’ve had many tattoos done and have never had an artists work like this before. I do not recommend for anyone to go there.

I love my new (cover up) tattoo and cannot thank Oscar enough for being so patient and talented with my design. I recommend Southgate Tattoo for a great, friendly and professional service at very reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back!
